1. The Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum is looking for new Docents!
Docents are volunteer tour guides, trained to further the pub-
lic’s understanding of the cultural and historical collections
of different institutions. In many cases, docents, in addition
to their function as guides, also conduct research utilizing the
institution’s facilities.
Docents can be found at many institutions,
including local and national museums, zoos,
historical landmarks, and parks.
The 2013 Docent Training sessions will be offered
year round. (except for march)
Training session consists of four classes offered through the 1/12, 1/26, 2/2, 2/23 (weekend day session)
weekends, with additional training activities in the evenings. 4/17, 5/1, 5/15, 5/29 (evening session)
Docent training sessions can also be scheduled by appointment. 6/1, 6/15, 6/29, 7/13 (weekend day session)
Part of the training session involves meeting with other docents 8/14, 8/28, 9/11, 9/25 (evening session)
at an outing for all docents. 9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2 (weekend day session)
10/23, 11/6, 11/20, 12/4 (evening session)
Following the training series, there will be bi-monthly docent Weekend classes are 10am to 12pm and evening classes
meetings to review, discuss, and improve, as well as to learn are 5:30pm to 7:30pm
more and have fun. These meetings will include guest speakers
and field trips.
