*Community members dedicated to engaging District Board of Education to adopt a new policy to
stop the school-to-prison pipeline that begins with the issuance of trumpet suspensions, citations
and/or school based arrests.
AmeriCorps TEAMS – Service Project/Advocate (community) [2004 - Present]
*Community Service based projects, created, planned and implemented by teacher, for students to
work (hands-on) with the public/neighborhood community: locally, nationally or world-wide. 1,700
hours of service logged yearly
After-School Tutoring - (volunteer) [2000 - Present]
* Personal Program developed out of necessity to bring up SAT 9/SBAC scores and individual student
grades at Cajon high school
Safe School Ambassador – (volunteer) [2003 – 2010]
* Assist in facilitating and creating strategies to maintain safer school environments on campus and in
classrooms; in addition, being available to student ambassadors to counsel them on mentorship
WASC Chair – (volunteer) [2003 – 2004]
* Implemented, researched and compiled school data to assist in the reaccreditation of Cajon high
school, while being responsible for organizing and directing other teachers in the process of
accreditation and the research needed for analysis
Baseball/Softball Coach – (volunteer) [2003 – 2010]
* Involved in using semi-professional baseball background to teach young adults the fundamentals of
baseball and softball. Created and implemented a variety of techniques and strategies to improve each
player’s athletic ability, with special emphasis on hitting instruction
