16 years old (youngest intern here)Rising Junior at the Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School (picture of CRLHS)Run Varsity Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track and also play Baseball.
Born in Bangladesh, moved to United States when I was 6 years old. In a town called Dhaka.Lived in Cambridge ever since I moved to the U.S.
Economy is in a bad condition right now – and so my job is to make sure Profit Centers (PC’s) within Chief Software Architect in Microsoft, are not spending over their budget and keeping track of their expenses making sure that they have money in their budget for FY10. Also, I created some automated reports in which will be used for ever in Microsoft History (by Ray Ozzie, and extremely high executives) and it will update all by it self.
One of my projects was to close/block PC’s of Microsoft Corp R&D—CSA (Chief Software Architect), and also make reports for the month close, so we can analyze them and see where there is a problem and what we have to do to fix them. Some other projects that I worked on are looking at assets and internal orders (IO’s) of each of the PC’s, and then seeing which ones we need to block. We had to see which PC’s were obsolete, meaning that we were not going to be using them for FY10, and we had to block all assets and IO’s of the obsolete PC’s.Another project of mines was working with one of our business partner’s Amy Henson, and solve some of the confusion that was being caused within the NERD Facility. I will explain later on about this project.

I have done many different types of projects, one was making Cost Per Head Reports (which Ray Ozzie will be using), making Headcount Reports, and working with one of our business partners to help them make their job easier, and save them a lot more time. The next slide shows an example of a proposal that I made to our business partner that I think will help them a lot and make their life easier for them.

The experience I got out of this amazing internship is that I, as a rising junior in high school (also the youngest intern here) got to do what I want to do in my career and major in, in college, right now. This type of internship is very rare because it is offered to mainly college students or seniors in high school (18 – 21 year olds), and I as a 16 year old got to experience this incredible company and work for this company is just amazing. I made so many networks here, learned so much, got so much out of it, learned the Microsoft culture, and met really big senior executives. One key experience that I got out of this internship was going to the ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting) Convention which was held in Boston this year. I met so many different people in these conventions, met really big executives (CFO’s and CEO’s of big companies), best of all, met a lot of other Microsoft Employees who flew down from Redmond, Washington for this conference. I will not forget this convention, and I would love to represent Microsoft at this convention next year in Orlando! This internship was a experience of a lifetime, and I will never forget it. These 8 weeks were the fastest 8 weeks of my life, and I wish school would go by as fast as these 8 weeks have.
Throughout these past 8 weeks, I have learned a lot, made great networks, and made my friends jealous! I have always wanted to work for such a big company like Microsoft, and I just got the chance to do it. I want to thank Lauren Day for creating this amazing High School Internship Program, and also want to thank Ernesto Chavarin (my manager/coach) for teaching me so much and for giving me this opportunity and teaching me so much about Finance. I would always love to come back to this company at any time of the day. It is a great honor to work for this company for the summer. And I would love to work here during the school year!
