The Academic Services Center at Carnegie Mellon University's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department had a busy year in 2015. They welcomed new staff, reorganized roles and responsibilities to provide better course support, and implemented initiatives to support students. Notable achievements included inducting 19 students into an honor society, broadcasting 19 courses to four continents, and advising over 500 undergraduate students. They also spent over $1 million on new lab equipment and distributed course materials to students around the world.

2015 has been a year of many changes for the
Academic Services Center.
In January we welcomed Katie to the team and reorganized with Shannon assisting Leona with course scheduling and TA
assignments, Zara focusing on general course support, and Lyz managing special events such as the Turn Tartan Overnight
Weekends and the Graduate Seminar Series. Lyz and Shannon also implemented a goody bag initiative for the students and
coordinated with Stephanie to bring the treats to Silicon Valley. In addition to this, Stephanie has continued an amazing job as
course and student activities/organizations support for all of our Silicon Valley professors and students. Jeff continued his
excellent support of the labs and distant learning center, adding a new mode to HH 1107 over the summer for broadcast
courses. In September we experienced another big change, wishing Shannon the best of luck at her new position in the
Drama department and welcoming Brittany to our team. She has successfully transitioned to managing general course
support while Zara has moved to assisting Leona in the course scheduling and TA processes. As we turn the corner into a new
year, we look forward to continuing our course support for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Cheers!
