Project Summary: Project objective was to Education For All(EFA) 100% children in school. OOSC
Census was conducted to record all children in the household ages 0 – 9 Years with status of health,
school and gender. Data accumulations were performed at Location, marakz/Patwar Circle, Union
Council, Tehsil and Districtlevel. The product of census was UPE Register, the content of UPE register
were 5-9 yearschildreninschool,Outof School and disable.
Out of school childrenlist, aged 5 - 9 years is extracted from UPE register and viaenrolment campaign
these OSC were enrolled. UPE register were placed in school and Head teacher was responsible for
update: Record every new birth in a location. Subsequent years after OOSC census; list of out of
school children were prepared by teachers to achieve enrolment target. OOSC extracted from UPE

Project Summary: Refers to ALP baseline assessment results to establish adult literacy center in
selected location, we were unable to find required number illiterate who can read write and
perform basic arithmetic. But census data give very different figures of literacy rate. Therefore
study were designed to explore population perception about literate and the enumerator of
population census organization (Govt. Teacher) are not aware of literacy definition due to
having limited training to collect valid data. To collect valid data in 2008 census. study was
designed to understand communities feedback on literacy definition and assessment. The TOR
of the study are

 Review the ‘Literacy Section’ of the 1998 and 2008 Census Questionnaires and their
guidelines fordeveloping the subject Study Questionnaire;
 Review of already-in-use survey instruments of various organizations to deduce questions
for literacy for the Questionnaire of the proposed Study
 Pilot testing of the Literacy Section of the Census 2008 Questionnaire and its Guidelines to
arrive at the conclusion whether these could be easily understandable by the respondents
and capture the prevailing literacy rate in the country properly or not?
 Give feedback / recommendations to the Population Census Organization, responsible to
conduct Census 2008, on the basis of the results arrived at through he proposed Study and
thus fine tune, if so warranted, the ‘Literacy Section of the Census 2008 Questionnaire’ to
ensure capturing of real literacy rate at the national level;
 Develop appropriate guidelines on ‘Literacy Section of the Census 2008 Questionnaire’ for

Project Summary: The objective EVS was enrolling OOSC in high quality Low Cost Private
School(LCPS). To assess the quality LCPS Rapid and detail assessment was performed for all the
schools in the given Union Councils and get GPS coordinate. The eligibility criteria for rapid

Project Summary: Sindh Reading Program: Implementation and monitoring of school-based teacher
trainings through identifying, hiring, supervising, and compensating Teaching and Learning Associates
(TLA) during the teacher training phase. The primarily focus is on assisting teachers on a rotating basis
so that each teacher receives an equivalent amount of support during each month of the assignment.

Centered and Inquiry-based (SCIB) science education, data was collected from pilot and
control schools in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) of the project, using structure
instruments. The activities of the project included the preparation of science lesson plans,
training of master trainers, training of school science teachers, school cluster programs, and
organizing awareness seminars at the federal and the provincial levels that helped in the
development and continuity of science efforts being made for the implementation of science

Project Summary: Project objectives are to better understand ways to strengthen the culture of
reading in Pakistan. Identifying barriers to reading beyond the walls of the primary school. Children
learn to read when others in their environment and their older siblings, peers, adults in their
community, and especially their parents who are not only able to read, but have modeled a habit of
reading. This modeling underscores the value of reading for the child, thereby supporting the
adoption of this habit themselves, reinforcing their skills, and establishing the foundation for lifelong
learning.
The study will identify the principal avenues for USAID investment to help re-establish, strengthen
and sustainthissupportive environment.

Project Summary: Primary Health Care Extension Project was launched In areas of 13
Districts where Lady Health Workers Program had not reached. Project interventions of
Health include Immunization of children and women, Diarrhea and ARI prevention & control,

sanitation, and health education. Project focused at improving communities’ behavior
towards health, accurately identifying local health needs and restructuring services of local
health facilities to meet those needs.

 Intervening in cases of physical or mental impairment
 Improving hygiene of students through health education.
SHP was operational in 17 districts, 2.2 million primary school children for visual and
hearing defects and personal hygiene are screened. 70,400 primary school teachers are

Project Summary: USAID Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program comprised of five

exercise of these two components will assess level of compliance with USG FP statutes and policies,
principal deficiencies in complying with USG FP statutes and policies, What were the recurring

FATA.

Project Summary: The Afghan Population Profiling, Verification and Response survey (PPVR) was
launched in 2010. The objective are to support the Strategy of Government of Pakistan for Afghan

tailoring the most appropriate response for the Afghan individuals and communities ensuring access

In survey data on socio-economic indicators was collected form 154,930 Afghan households in
identified 25 districts of Pakistan. Total of 135,452 households were interviewed and data 974,961
Afghans currently living in Pakistan were collected in face to face interview. A detailed standard
system, procedure and process were designed for Social Mobilization, household listing, Data
Gathering, Data Quality Audit, Data Editing Coding, Data Entry, Cleansing, Analysis and Technical
Report.

Selected beneficiaries’ capacity built through provision of trainings and inputs in sustainable
agricultural practices, Local governance strengthened by establishing platform for local economic
development, and implementation of project in partnership with local government stakeholders and

3. CITIZEN DAMAGE COMPENSATION PROGRAM

Project Summary : The massive 2010 monsoon flood disaster in Pakistan was
unprecedented, killing more than 1,700 individuals, affecting over 20 % of the land area and
impacting the lives of more than 20 million people. . Since the area’s most impacted were
already lagging behind in socio-economic indicators, flooding compounded challenges to the
poverty reduction efforts that were underway in these areas. In order to facilitate the
rehabilitation of the affected communities the Government of Pakistan launched the Citizen
Damage Compensation Program (CDCP) Phase I. The program disbursed PKR 20,000 in cash
grants to affected families in all four provinces, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Programme was
extended into a second phase and aimed to disburse PKR 40,000 in two equal installments of
PKR 20,00 each to the affected families. Damaged housing was used as a proxy indicator for
determination of whether a household had been affected by the floods and subsequently
whether it qualified to be a beneficiary. Citizens Damage Compensation Program (CDCP)
Humanitarian assistance Cash transfer program. Programme objective is to support the early
recovery of flood affected households.

Project Summary: Pakistan’s nine government-owned power distribution companies (DISCOs) need
to improve their operational and financial performance. The program focuses on reducing losses,
increasing revenues, and improving customer service, to better meet international utility
performance standards and improved governance. PDP works with DISCOs in Lahore, Faisalabad,
Gujranwala, Islamabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Sukkkur and Quetta, as well as with the
Ministry of Water and Power (MWP), and NEPRA. Survey objective are to assess PDP’s effectiveness
in intervening in a variety of ways to improve the performance of the nine DISCOs and the
governance and policy environment of public sector entities in the energy arena. This evaluation will
assess the effectiveness of the program approach and its components with the aim of identifying
opportunitiesforimprovement.

The Livelihood Recovery Appraisal (LRA) process is owned by the Food Security Cluster, through Food
and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) as the legal entity, and is conducted in a
close collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA) / Pakistan
Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), UN World Food Programme (UNWFP), and various national
and international organizations as members of the Food Security Cluster.
FAO hired the services of APEX Consulting Pakistan to support the implementation of LRA 2012 in 15
flood-affected districts in Sindh, Pakistan. APEX was tasked with providing support services for a
thorough assessment on the impact of 2010 and 2011 floods on the livelihoods of the flood affected
population and the opportunities for livelihood recovery at household level in these districts.

sectarian, organised criminal, communal, ‘tribal’ and socio-cultural violence. A visual mapping of

Since the area’s most impacted were already lagging behind in socio-economic indicators, flooding compounded challenges to the poverty reduction efforts that were underway in these areas. In order to facilitate the rehabilitation of the affected communities the Government of Pakistan launched the Citizen Damage Compensation Program (CDCP) Phase I. The program disbursed PKR 20,000 in cash grants to affected families in all four provinces, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. FOOD SECURITY : LIVELIHOOD RECOVERY APPRAISAL Project Livelihood Recovery Appraisal Organization Apex Consulting Donor FAO & WFP The Livelihood Recovery Appraisal (LRA) process is owned by the Food Security Cluster, through Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) as the legal entity, and is conducted in a close collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA) / Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), UN World Food Programme (UNWFP), and various national and international organizations as members of the Food Security Cluster. FAO hired the services of APEX Consulting Pakistan to support the implementation of LRA 2012 in 15 flood-affected districts in Sindh, Pakistan. APEX was tasked with providing support services for a thorough assessment on the impact of 2010 and 2011 floods on the livelihoods of the flood affected population and the opportunities for livelihood recovery at household level in these districts.

MAPPING CONFLICT TRENDS Project Conflict mapping to support UK Joint Analysis of Conflict and Stability in Pakistan Organization Experience International Donor DFID Project Summary :The British High Commission in Pakistan (BHC) was conducting a Joint Analysis of Conflict and Stability (JACS) in Pakistan to help inform programmes. It will explore conflict and instability throughout Pakistan including; underlying structural causes, key actors, conflict dynamics and capacities for peace. The UK understands conflict in Pakistan to include: anti-state, separatist, sectarian, organised criminal, communal, ‘tribal’ and socio-cultural violence. A visual mapping of conflict trends is required to help direct the JACS and to identify priority questions for analysis. The BHC is therefore seekingaproviderof these services(the Supplier). Projectobjectivesare  To map conflict patterns and trends in Pakistan (including at sub-provincial level) using existing secondary data; with focus on identification of most significant shifts in run up to / and since Pakistan’sfirstfull democratictransitionin2013.  To map local perspectives on conflict trends and patterns in Pakistan through first-hand focus groupdiscussionsandinterviewsinprovincial capitalsanddistricts.  To share findings with British High Commission stakeholders through a presentation and discussion. 2. CONFLICT INCIDENT WITH RESPECT TO POVERTY, INEQUALITY, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY IN PAKISTAN Project Conflict Incident with respect to Poverty, Inequality, Economic Opportunity in Pakistan Organization Experience International Donor DFID Project Summary: In response to the JACS Phase-I, British High Commission requested to conduct empirical studyto undertake the followingkeytasks:  Establish and test the hypothesis that there are correlations between poverty, inequality and economic opportunities with the intensity and origin of conflict in the target study regions of Southernand NorthernPunjabandKPK/FATA.  Identifyreliable sourcesof secondarydataof conflictandpoverty.  Gather and compile requisite secondary data (Q4 2012-Q1 2014) for the comparison of identified poverty, inequality and economic opportunity drivers/indicators of the target study
