Definition Essay On Equality
Equality– the state or quality of being equal; correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability. Equality is more than a 15–word definition.
Equality is knowing someone is different but treating them the same, equality is knowing someone has muscular dystrophy and treating them like you
would any other person, equality is when you introduce yourself you state the pronouns you go by like he, she, or they, equality is not assuming that
because of someone's gender they like the opposite gender, equality is seeing a girl's short haircut and not assuming they are a lesbian or transgender.
Equality is not 15 words. Equality can be an infinite amount of words if we step out of our comfort zone just a little bit to experience some of what
could be a mass utopia.
Many people do not support some forms of equality because they were grown up into the beliefs their parents have taught them. So basically "This is
the truth, don't let anyone tell you different". That's just how it was and you were like "Okay mommy I love you bye". But what if for...show more

This was a large step in America. The White House lit up with the gay pride flag and everyone was getting married. It was amazing. But, in
controversial times like that, it shows you who people really are. There were many reports telling how people refused to marry same sex couples
because it went against their beliefs and religions as a person. I understand that you were grown up to the belief that man shall not lie with another
man or maybe that is just what you think. I get it. But truly they are not abominations; they are people just like you and me. If you accidently cut
yourself, you bleed. If you fall, you bleed. If someone who is gay accidentally cuts themself, they bleed. If someone who is gay falls, they bleed. There

Equity vs. Equality
How far should the society go when treating someone with equality and equity? Equality and equity should be displayed only to the extent that it is
right in God's eyes. When both equity and equality come together in a Godly way all people from all societies will benefit successfully through
equity, be equal with genders and races, and the outcomes will help some or all of the society.
Equity can come with success because in society people can get their needs met but not everything that people need is good. An equity example is a
student is struggling in grammar, but another student is really advanced in grammar. So what the teacher does is give the student that struggles help,
and the advanced kid higher level grammar. Both of these students have very different needs but the success was that both students learned and
understood grammar. Another example is a little girl wants theboy's toy, so the little girl starts throwing a tantrum. The little girl needs the toy to make
the tantrum stop, but does the parent take away the toy from the boy to make the girl stop? Of course not. What a good parent would do is discipline
their child. In this case, equity didn't turn out as a success, but some things that people need in society are not always good for their life. In conclusion,
equity works for most situations but not all.
Throughout the society, people are not giving the same chances because of the color of their skin, or their gender, but by using the act of equality the
society can be given the same opportunities. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by
the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." –Martin Luther King Jr. The color of people's skin or if someone if a girl or boy, should
not decide whether or not someone can do something. The society has the same opportunity to do something but it is the society's decision to do it. In
some cases, equality can be used to bring people's God–given talents down because equality can mean that each person is the same or gets the same
things even though it might not be needed. Whatif all of the society was

Achieving Democracy and Equality Essay
This paper shows why both democracy and equality are desirable, and why democracy, in its true sense, is an important step to achieve greater
equality. There are many reasons why political philosophers need to look beyond the one person, one vote conception of democracy to understand why
such theories have allowed social and economic inequality to continue to exist. While many democracies do not live up to our expectations in regards
to providing equality, there are explanations for this and methods of overcoming such problems.
Is equality desirable?
The first thing to consider is whether equality is desirable, and if so, what kinds of equality are desirable. For example, should young children have
equal voting rights? The consensus...show more content...
Consider the case of the recently proposed Malaysia solution. The proposed deal between Malaysia and Australia would have meant that 800
asylum seekers who arrive in Australia by boat would be sent to Malaysia as a deterrent, while Australia would in exchange take 4000 refugees
from one of Malaysia's refugee camps. The intended effect was to 'stop the boats' and save the Australian government from political turmoil. The
people who this legislation has the greatest effect on are the asylum seekers who plan to travel to Australia by boat, and the asylum seekers who are
waiting in refugee camps in Malaysia. However, because these groups of people are not part of the demos creating the law, and have no influence on
the legislation, are they obliged to follow it? While the interests of those seeking asylum in Australia should be considered by the demos in a liberal
democracy, this does not give anyone who interacts with the state the automatic right to the ballot and citizenship. In summary, there is a type of
equality that each person should have. It may seem arbitrary to argue that a demos is constituted by a particular geographical location, but this is not
the case. It is in fact quite pragmatic, as the geographical relationship between each member of a nation–state helps form their common life.
Myers points out that there are 'virtually limitless ways in which human beings might be equal or unequal.' From birth, individuals

Persuasive Essay On Equality
Although we think that equality is something good and that everyone should be equal, equality not only takes away your personality, but also
your freedom. Likewise, in "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr, the reader learns that equality is not necessarily a good thing that we
should try to achieve. At the start of the story, the author makes us believe that being equal is a good thing because it is something that people
want in society. It is not until we experience how the government treats unequal people and the way handicaps are put on those who are more
advanced than others,, that we realize how equality takes away makes us unique and what makes everyone different in a good way. On the
contrary, equality is what causes all the problems. Even though the reader originally believes that being equal is a good thing, once they
experience the dystopian setting where equality is the cause of all the problems, they realize equality takes away what makes us unique. Because
of the way the government treats people in their effort to enforce equality, the reader learns that equality doesn't always lead to good endings. "The
year was 2081 and everybody was finally equal"(Vonnegut Pg1). This quote means that everyone was finally equal and the world is good.
Because of the word "finally" the reader knows that in the beginning of the story, they mean it in a good way. ? In examination day caps it also
talks about equality, and how everyone is equal and the way they treat equal people you would need evidence to prove this . It talked about a little
kid and that he was really smart so they did a test and they killed him because he was smarter than everybody else which means he was not equal.
Get a quote from the story to show this This shows that in the beginning of the story the people were happy that everyone was equal. The reader can
say that because it said "finally" that means that they were trying to be equal and trying to work towards that for a long period of time. This makes
more sense than what you mention before in the explain This relates to examination day because a lot of people are taking the same test and they are
all competing against each other to see which person gets the highest and

Equality and Diversity Essay
Inequality exists, even in societies without formal stratification (Parsons, 1970). Whilst complete societal equality may be unattainable, Equal
Opportunities (EO) policies aim to 'reduce the gap'. Inequality takes different forms and there is much theoretical debate regarding which grouping
variables, such as gender or age, are important. There exist three key notions of 'equality of opportunity': formal, liberal and radical. The former two are
minimalist concepts, concerned principally with equality of opportunity – the 'beginning' of the process. Conversely, the radical perspective, a
maximalist concept, is more concerned with outcome. This paper outlines these three approaches, evaluates their successes and considers whether

For Johns and Green (2009), simply to address individual, direct forms of discrimination is insufficient; only two forms of EO can be aimed at
institutional discrimination – radical (which they do not support) or liberal.
The liberal notion, incorporating elements of formal EO, defines equality as 'equality of fair opportunity' (Rawls, 1999), with the fundamental aim that
individuals possessing equal talents and ambitions should also have equal prospects. The model recognises that the effects of past discrimination are
likely to impact negatively on current equality of opportunity and the impact of institutional discrimination. Here, whilst merit–based recruitment may
be applied, some individuals may not have had the same opportunities as a result of such group characteristics as gender or ethnicity. Although this
model, sometimes known as 'prospect–regarding equal opportunities' formed part of the legislation of the early 1970s, it was seldom used (Iganski
and Mason, 2003). A need to employ policies to reduce gaps in income, educational attainment, wealth and health was recognised and addressed by
such legislation as the Equal Pay Act, 1970, Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and Race Relations Act 1976 (superceded by the Equality Act 2010).
Liberal notions of equality became the preferred option of New Labour following the Macpherson Report. For Edwards and Batley (1978), it can be
used in two different ways. It can

Is Equality Obsolete?
Equality is a loosely used term when discussed around the world. According to Merriam Webster, equality means, "The quality or state of being
equal". As a peer counselor one of my jobs is to effectively communicate with my students and have a strong interpersonal relationship with each and
every one of them. Equality is making sure all people are treated equally, equality is not economic disparity. The restraints put into place whether it be
by, the government or people that have the power to influence the outcome of something, has shaped today's society and resonates till this day. The
meaning equality is your peers feeling welcomed regardless of their race, sexual orientation and social status; not treating anyone less based off
hearsay and prejudice. There are a variety of attributes that we can discuss when communicating, but I want to focus on equality not just for others but
ones self. Communicating effectively with one another is key to a successful discussion. When coming into contact with your peers remember that
you are equals. You may be in disagreement; but that does not give you the right to disrespect them because it distorts your character. Students can be
more effective verbally if individuals do not try to overpower each other. Through the years history has shown that America is striving for equality for
all. Congress passes laws which everyone must abide. Others practice their rights as Americans and protest if they

Equality And Equality In Society
According to human rights, each and every one must be treated equally. However, in a society, inequality can be witnessed in several ways, for
example, discrimination in terms of gender, caste, creed, race, ethnicity, and religion. Equality basically implies provision or access to all the
opportunities prevailing in a society. In fact, equality laws and regulations are formulated to safeguard every individual from getting discriminated in
various social settings. For example, one can become a victim of inequality in his or her workplace. Equal rights are extremely crucial to provide equal
opportunities. The same is based on nothing but the legal obligations that the commoners must comply with. Equality also helps to protect people from
getting discriminated on group membership grounds. It is often argued that laws and regulations in any genre mostly help in promoting national unity.
Under equality laws, all human beings are equal. Human beings possess inherent dignity and therefore deserve just and equal treatment. One gender or
race should not get the privilege to consider superior over other race or gender. Race, skin color or a gender cannot completely define an individual.
Even in 21st century, society still portrays inequality amongst human beings in different genres. The primary research question for this paper is– "why
equal rights should prevail in the society?" The main aim of this study is to understand the primary reason behind the prevalence of

Equality : Equality And Equality
Have you ever thought about how the world can be equal? If everyone were truly equal, the world would have to be very different. Laws and
government would need to make sure that no one were unique. The government would also have to be able to keep people from breaking the laws so
they would not break the rules and to not go against the government. Milton Friedman said, "A society that puts equality before freedom will get
neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both." If you put equality before freedom then the outcome will be bad
for the people because it takes away their freedom to speak out on what they feel or on what they want to do.I feel like freedom should be more valued
than equality. If society ever have more equality but no freedom than society would have trouble speaking out on what they believe in they would just
have to deal with whatever the government said for them to do.
If people were to ever put equality before freedom then it would not turn out good for them. For example in "The Giver" they had to live in a world
full of equality and they had no freedom to do as they pleased.so if people ever decide to choose equality over freedom they have to know what they
are willing to give up to get equality.but if they choose freedom then they have a better chances to have both equality and freedom then just having
equality and no freedom.if people ever think it through then they would know to choose freedom over equality.Abraham Lincoln had said "These men
ask for just the same thing: fairness, and fairness only. This is, so far as in my power, they, and all others, shall have." this quote means people ask for
equality and in return they try to make it happen for other people.i know that the quote would mean more to certain people who want equality more
than freedom.
People can always have a chance to pick freedom if they ever wanted to they can also pick equality instead of freedom.so if they where to chose
freedom they would get what is best for them instead of what is best for the government.people can also choose what they want to do and how they
want to do it instead of someone else doing it for them.so if people choose freedom then they would be

Equity And Equality : Equity Vs. Equality
Equity vs Equality. Over the years, multiple distinguished authors, politicians, teachers, and philosophers have weighed with their opinion. Equality is
ultimate state of being equal in all things, including opportunists, states, and rights. Equity, on the other hand, describes being fair and impartial in all
situations. Words that are so similar yet, completely different. Equity is being fair, and being fair doesn't always mean being completely equal to
everybody. Equality, sounds good however as time has shown equality is only beneficial if everyone has the same advantages and all benefit equally
from the system . What happens when everyone does not have the same inborn advantages? We begin to have unfair disadvantages aimed at
marginalized people. Equity is the path that as a society, we must take in order to improve. Sherman Alexie, in the essay, "Superman and Me", argues
that as a minority, he was at a disadvantage in the education system and struggled to find footing. The author supports his argument by illustrating his
early childhood life and educational struggles in detail. Alexie's purpose is to alert teachers of the troubles that minorities go through, so that society
inserts equity into the education system. Certainly, Alexie's illustration of his childhood struggles are an enlightening experience. While he does not
directly address the question, it does shed some light on the ongoing debate. Equity vs Equality, which is more beneficial. Equality has been used since
Jim Crow when southern schools installed the mentality of 'separate but equal'. This mentality exhibited that even though they were separate, nothing
was ever truly equal. This mentality failed. Looking at our system now, one cannot help but point out the similarities to the old Jim Crow system. As
Albert Einstein would say, Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Equity is the opposite. Equity would
ensure that those who needed extra or additional help would receive because that would be fair. Moreover, in the speech 'A Talk With Teachers' the
author James Baldwin, claims that minorities, especially African Americans, experience a different type of upbringing in contrast to

Reflection About Equality
When people jump into the question of whether or not the world knows equality, I find myself listening to people who believe that our society has
become one that includes everyone. However, I wasn't able to create an answer to this question for myself. Growing up as a closeted and eventual
openly gay teenager in a world where hetorsexuality dominates society has had me teetering on whether or not I actually felt equal to the one's around
me. Shifting views from others caused me to wonder where I actually fit into this world. Throughout my life, these experiences eventually allowed me
to form my own opinion on the topic. From Kindergarten to late elementary school, kids have the wonderful advantage of not knowing stereotypes. I

If I have to fake my way in, will I ever view myself as equal to them? Going to family events was even more difficult. Fortunately, no side of my
family has ever been very religious or considered "backwards", but every once and awhile I'd have my grandmother ask about "Where's the
girlfriend?". I'd jokingly say that I didn't have one, and my mother would start bragging about all of the girls I hung out with, alluding that I had some
sort of relationship with them. If my family knew the truth would they still view me as an equal? Keeping a mask around school is pretty easy, but
hiding who you are to your family is pretty difficult.
Lucky for me, I was able to make some close friends in High School that I was able to tell right away that I was gay. They were easy to accept
everything, which ultimately gave me hope for what the rest of the school would think. Though I still kept the secret to myself, I resorted back to my
natural feminine ways. I will always remember the moment when I was in my Freshman Cooking class and the teacher actually asked another student
to ask me if I was gay due to my voice. I remember standing there, face ridiculously red, and not having anything to say.
My sophomore year of high school were where things really took off for me. I met a guy outside of my school that I began to date. My close friends
were ecstatic and happy for me, and I can easily say that I was happy for myself. Halfway through the year, I'd decided that it was time to

LGBT Equality And Equality
The LGBT community has made new laws each day to bring equality to all. "Throughout its, America has symbolized equality of opportunity for
people of all races, origins, religions and creeds, serving as a beacon of hope for anyone seeking a better life. However, despite its founding principles
of equality and acceptance, the United States also has a long history of denying basic rights to certain people" (LGBT Equality). When the US
discriminates against a certain thing people retaliate and rise up and try to make new laws to help their cause. The LGBT community has been striving
to bring equality in many ways. The LGBT community has made great strides in gaining equality of same–sex marriage, gay adoption, and transgender

The LGBT community has made new laws all the time to bring about equality. One thing that has been having more equality is same–sex marriage.
Since June of 2015 the U.S has said it is legal to have same–sex marriage. Lawmakers for years tried to get same–sex marriage approved. Finally, this
happened "Lawmakers voted late Friday to legalize same–sex marriage, making New York the largest state where gay and lesbian couples will be able
to wed and giving the national gay–rights movement new momentum from the state where it was born" (Confessore, Barbaro). Even though it was
finally passed as a law to allow same–sex marriage in America in 2015, many people before that ruling that federal taxes should be used to gain the

Women Equality Essay
The concept of equality between men and women has been heavily deliberated for the past few decades, but as we discussed in class throughout the
week, it's become increasingly clear that people have drastically different ideas on what constitutes equality. Originally, when posed the question, I
brought up the more prominent issues facing women in our society, politically, socially, and economically. Politically, I believe that for men and
women to be equal, women need to be proportionately represented in government, from local offices to the oval office. I personally discovered the
importance of this issue when I realized that women make up less than 20% of Congress, thus making men the primary deciders of women's issues.
This is a...show more content...
My classmate, Elise Favvia, added to this by dictating how, as a STEM major, she often sees women underrepresented in the field as well as noting
that many other western nations allow women paid maternity leave, while the United States has yet to. Overall, these were my initial ideas on the
conditions for equality of men and women in our society. However, through my small group discussion and class discussion, I realized that I focused
on the surface issues but I overlooked the deeper underlying issues that should be addressed. For instance, Kexin Li brought up the idea
intersectionality. She explained how it was necessary to recognize that women are not a single, homogenous group, but rather a diverse group with
sub–sections that each have their own issues. This led her to discussing the difference between equity and equality, as equity implies noting people's
differences and reaching equality through helping each group with their distinct needs, while equality implies treating everyone equally, which, now
knowing the concept of intersectionality, might not actually create equality of the sexes. I deeply resonated with these ideas, as I had heard of
intersectionality before, but I had never thought of it as a "condition for equality", however, Kexin Li's explanation convinced me otherwise. An idea
from the class discussion that resonated with me was Alexis Availes' idea of "leadership rhetoric", specifically in public documents. She

Equality for Women in our Society Essay
Did you know that the lowest ranking female in a pack of hyenas have a higher rank than the highest male of that pack? This is drastically different
from that of the social structure of humans in most societies. Even though women are soft and delicate, women deserve equality because they are

hard at it until peace is reached. Women should be treated equally to men because they have the same qualities in most areas as men and have qualities

They can also bring to light issues in marketing that can help to bring more appeal to the consumer thus improving sales. A Norwegian data stated that
women are more significant as drivers of economic growth from a global standpoint (HolmГўs, 2012).
Higher education is a growing concern of many of the young, middle, and elder generations. Just as men, many women pursue college to better their
lives and/or pursue their possible dream career. In a United States Census conducted in 2010, the men to women ratio was 49.2–50.8 meaning that the
number of men to women are very close (Howden & Meyer, 2011). The women who go on to attain a Bachelor's degree or more was more than 35%,
more than 10% above the men (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). Between the ages of 25–29 with a Bachelor's degree or more, women have been on
a steady incline since the 1940s as opposed to men (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). Women have the educational experience and drive to earn equal
pay doing the same work. There is no doubt that women have the intelligence as college attendance have proven. With women making up half of the
population and increased educational attainment, it is justified that they are treated fairly.
Women can be seen working in nearly all fields of occupation. Women's work output can easily be compared to that of men in many occupations.

Equality Is The Country Of Equality Essay
We all have been taught that America is the country of equality that gives everyone the same opportunities and rights. Likewise, that image can still
be seen in the present timeline, as the idea of equality is the one thing that sets this country apart from other. Needless to say, we all love and support
equality for we all want to see the ideal vision of a place where there is no discrimination so we can all enjoy our happiness together. However, this is
where the problem comes it, as the peak of equality has become an illusion that shrouded us from the undeniable boundary that is none other than what
you cannot choose from when you are born, that is your gender. What many people do not know, is that when it comes to gender, the very difference
lies deeply in how the public view each gender accordingly to the bias that they been assigned to, thus the idea of equality can never be truly achieved
unless we regard each gender in their own respective uniqueness and offer them each the opportunities that are necessary so that they can thrive in their
own way. In other words, if there is a point where gender equality could be reached, the correct term is not equality, but equity.
At first thought, we can all agree that the idea of female equality to that of male is an ideal vision for America to have, and believe it or not, the idea
itself has been around for a long time. Nonetheless, the truth is that gender equality has never been able to achieve due to the fact that it is not

Justice and equality are both two very abstract concepts with numerous controversial definitions that are never agreed upon. Depending on the
situations, justice can be the same as equality, or not. In the modern world, justice is often used as a political slogan, rather than a meaningful pursuit.
Meanwhile equality is also one of the leading ideals of political movements, such as equal rights movements for marriage, voting, etc. In order to
answer the question: is justice the same as equality, it is necessary to understand the precise meaning of equality and justice, the relationship between
the two, the measurement of the two, and their current and historical status.
What is justice? What is equality?
Find definition of justice & equality in Plato, Aristotle, and Cicero's writings!
In Plato's Ideal State, justice is essentially equality. Any factor that might cause a difference among human beings is eliminated in his Ideal State. When
everyone is the same as others in all respects, justice is equality.
However, Plato's philosophy is very unpractical, given that each person has his or her unique combination of qualities and abilities.
Equality:
Equality presumes a certain level of difference between the things being compared. Two things or two people have to be comparable in certain
aspects as well as different in others, in order to be called "equal". Equality implies similarity, not sameness. To say two people are equal is not to say
they are completely

Equality to not care about the transgression that he has committed, but his own thoughts and feelings towards Liberty. Later on, Equality starts to
depart from society because of his feelings towards Equality which he declares when he says, "You are beautiful Liberty 5–3000" (Rand 42). Equality's
feelings towards Liberty are causing him to focus on his love and affections towards Equality, which causes him to be different from society.
Eventually, Equality and Liberty withdraw themselves from society which is described when Equality says, "It is our own world, Golden One, a

Imagine you must design a society where everyone is equal. This may mean equal in wealth, equal in education, equal in opportunity, but it is up
to you to decide what "equal" means. A. List five rules or laws that you would need to make so that everyone is equal. (For example, everyone
must wear khaki pants and white shirts.) B. Can you predict any problems that might result from these rules and laws? (For example, some people
don't like the color green). Everyone can get an education no matter what their skin color, religion, etc. Problem: Some people will not be fair to
people that are different from them, they will do anything to make themselves feel better. If someone is different from what we see as normal they

Equality : Equality In Society
We live in a world where constant change is commonplace in our lives, shifting views and mindsets lead to conflicts and intricate resolutions. We are a
split society, in truth. Opinions often outweigh fact, causing people and ideas to crumble. This is why equality is a topic which has become
increasingly more relevant.
To address this topic we must first define equality. Equality is being able to look at another person and know that they have the samerights as everyone
else. It isn't just based on what someone can receive, but rather, it is based on how people perceive others. All judgments are blown away, leaving
only the fact that we are human, therefore we are equal. It is a matter of respect and influence. It is being able to reach any goal that someone sets
out for. It is knowing people are safe in a diverse world. However, addressing what equality is is simply one part, we must also consider how we will
achieve such an idea. It is a matter of changing not just minds, but also basic perception. It starts with what influences people. The people who run
our country, the people who guide us, are the ones who we are influenced the most by. The ideas they support, the words they speak, we take this into
account when formulating our own opinions. While cutting off media would be a seemingly helpful solution, it would be impractical. This is where a
fair amount of work must be put on the people. It should be the job of the people, of the students, to learn to separate

Essay on True Equality
Equality Paper
Equality can be used in many contexts, as the general definition is "the state or quality of being equal or that one thing equals another; likeness. In
this paper I would like to explore equality as dealing wholly with life experiences in general. At first my definition of equality was that everybody is
subject to the same set of rules, even though there are many times when the same set of rules can be unfair.
An example of equality not being fair can be shown where two students are taking the same class. One student is normal in abilities and the other has a
learning disability. The second student suffers fromdyslexia. The students in the class are expected to listen to the teacher and to take notes. The normal

In this case he could provide class notes and allow more time for taking tests for the disabled student. I think that providing this assistance would make
the situation fair for both students because it would allow them to learn the same amount of material. So, at this point my definition of equality would
be that it is where everyone is subject to the same, fair set of rules.
However, can there really be true equality in this world, when people are born into different circumstances in this life? This question seems to
parallel my experiences with board games. When I have played games, I have noticed that someone always tends to roll high numbers and moves
ahead of everyone else. Is this luck or skill? We all start from the same position, but whether by chance or skill in spinning the wheels or rolling the
dice, our positions change. Now, in comparing this with real life, we are all born into different circumstances, not equal. Is is equality that one person
is born into poverty and another is born in wealth? No, but the first person can rise from poverty with hard work while the wealthy person's family could
go bankrupt or the person does not apply himself. The individuals, despite their original circumstances, could change their circumstances through time.
Assuming this premise is correct, I think the matter of circumstances needs to be included in the definition. I would now define equality as everybody
is subject to the same,

Definition Essay On Equality

  • 1. Definition Essay On Equality Equality– the state or quality of being equal; correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability. Equality is more than a 15–word definition. Equality is knowing someone is different but treating them the same, equality is knowing someone has muscular dystrophy and treating them like you would any other person, equality is when you introduce yourself you state the pronouns you go by like he, she, or they, equality is not assuming that because of someone's gender they like the opposite gender, equality is seeing a girl's short haircut and not assuming they are a lesbian or transgender. Equality is not 15 words. Equality can be an infinite amount of words if we step out of our comfort zone just a little bit to experience some of what could be a mass utopia. Many people do not support some forms of equality because they were grown up into the beliefs their parents have taught them. So basically "This is the truth, don't let anyone tell you different". That's just how it was and you were like "Okay mommy I love you bye". But what if for...show more content... This was a large step in America. The White House lit up with the gay pride flag and everyone was getting married. It was amazing. But, in controversial times like that, it shows you who people really are. There were many reports telling how people refused to marry same sex couples because it went against their beliefs and religions as a person. I understand that you were grown up to the belief that man shall not lie with another man or maybe that is just what you think. I get it. But truly they are not abominations; they are people just like you and me. If you accidently cut yourself, you bleed. If you fall, you bleed. If someone who is gay accidentally cuts themself, they bleed. If someone who is gay falls, they bleed. There is blood running through their veins the same as there is blood running through yours we are not different. But we should be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Equity And Equality : Equity Vs. Equality Abigail Folchi 9/26/17 English B Essay Boot Camp Equity vs. Equality How far should the society go when treating someone with equality and equity? Equality and equity should be displayed only to the extent that it is right in God's eyes. When both equity and equality come together in a Godly way all people from all societies will benefit successfully through equity, be equal with genders and races, and the outcomes will help some or all of the society. Equity can come with success because in society people can get their needs met but not everything that people need is good. An equity example is a student is struggling in grammar, but another student is really advanced in grammar. So what the teacher does is give the student that struggles help, and the advanced kid higher level grammar. Both of these students have very different needs but the success was that both students learned and understood grammar. Another example is a little girl wants theboy's toy, so the little girl starts throwing a tantrum. The little girl needs the toy to make the tantrum stop, but does the parent take away the toy from the boy to make the girl stop? Of course not. What a good parent would do is discipline their child. In this case, equity didn't turn out as a success, but some things that people need in society are not always good for their life. In conclusion, equity works for most situations but not all. Throughout the society, people are not giving the same chances because of the color of their skin, or their gender, but by using the act of equality the society can be given the same opportunities. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." –Martin Luther King Jr. The color of people's skin or if someone if a girl or boy, should not decide whether or not someone can do something. The society has the same opportunity to do something but it is the society's decision to do it. In some cases, equality can be used to bring people's God–given talents down because equality can mean that each person is the same or gets the same things even though it might not be needed. Whatif all of the society was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Achieving Democracy and Equality Essay This paper shows why both democracy and equality are desirable, and why democracy, in its true sense, is an important step to achieve greater equality. There are many reasons why political philosophers need to look beyond the one person, one vote conception of democracy to understand why such theories have allowed social and economic inequality to continue to exist. While many democracies do not live up to our expectations in regards to providing equality, there are explanations for this and methods of overcoming such problems. Is equality desirable? The first thing to consider is whether equality is desirable, and if so, what kinds of equality are desirable. For example, should young children have equal voting rights? The consensus...show more content... Consider the case of the recently proposed Malaysia solution. The proposed deal between Malaysia and Australia would have meant that 800 asylum seekers who arrive in Australia by boat would be sent to Malaysia as a deterrent, while Australia would in exchange take 4000 refugees from one of Malaysia's refugee camps. The intended effect was to 'stop the boats' and save the Australian government from political turmoil. The people who this legislation has the greatest effect on are the asylum seekers who plan to travel to Australia by boat, and the asylum seekers who are waiting in refugee camps in Malaysia. However, because these groups of people are not part of the demos creating the law, and have no influence on the legislation, are they obliged to follow it? While the interests of those seeking asylum in Australia should be considered by the demos in a liberal democracy, this does not give anyone who interacts with the state the automatic right to the ballot and citizenship. In summary, there is a type of equality that each person should have. It may seem arbitrary to argue that a demos is constituted by a particular geographical location, but this is not the case. It is in fact quite pragmatic, as the geographical relationship between each member of a nation–state helps form their common life. Myers points out that there are 'virtually limitless ways in which human beings might be equal or unequal.' From birth, individuals Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Equality Although we think that equality is something good and that everyone should be equal, equality not only takes away your personality, but also your freedom. Likewise, in "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr, the reader learns that equality is not necessarily a good thing that we should try to achieve. At the start of the story, the author makes us believe that being equal is a good thing because it is something that people want in society. It is not until we experience how the government treats unequal people and the way handicaps are put on those who are more advanced than others,, that we realize how equality takes away makes us unique and what makes everyone different in a good way. On the contrary, equality is what causes all the problems. Even though the reader originally believes that being equal is a good thing, once they experience the dystopian setting where equality is the cause of all the problems, they realize equality takes away what makes us unique. Because of the way the government treats people in their effort to enforce equality, the reader learns that equality doesn't always lead to good endings. "The year was 2081 and everybody was finally equal"(Vonnegut Pg1). This quote means that everyone was finally equal and the world is good. Because of the word "finally" the reader knows that in the beginning of the story, they mean it in a good way. ? In examination day caps it also talks about equality, and how everyone is equal and the way they treat equal people you would need evidence to prove this . It talked about a little kid and that he was really smart so they did a test and they killed him because he was smarter than everybody else which means he was not equal. Get a quote from the story to show this This shows that in the beginning of the story the people were happy that everyone was equal. The reader can say that because it said "finally" that means that they were trying to be equal and trying to work towards that for a long period of time. This makes more sense than what you mention before in the explain This relates to examination day because a lot of people are taking the same test and they are all competing against each other to see which person gets the highest and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Equality and Diversity Essay Inequality exists, even in societies without formal stratification (Parsons, 1970). Whilst complete societal equality may be unattainable, Equal Opportunities (EO) policies aim to 'reduce the gap'. Inequality takes different forms and there is much theoretical debate regarding which grouping variables, such as gender or age, are important. There exist three key notions of 'equality of opportunity': formal, liberal and radical. The former two are minimalist concepts, concerned principally with equality of opportunity – the 'beginning' of the process. Conversely, the radical perspective, a maximalist concept, is more concerned with outcome. This paper outlines these three approaches, evaluates their successes and considers whether ...show more content... For Johns and Green (2009), simply to address individual, direct forms of discrimination is insufficient; only two forms of EO can be aimed at institutional discrimination – radical (which they do not support) or liberal. The liberal notion, incorporating elements of formal EO, defines equality as 'equality of fair opportunity' (Rawls, 1999), with the fundamental aim that individuals possessing equal talents and ambitions should also have equal prospects. The model recognises that the effects of past discrimination are likely to impact negatively on current equality of opportunity and the impact of institutional discrimination. Here, whilst merit–based recruitment may be applied, some individuals may not have had the same opportunities as a result of such group characteristics as gender or ethnicity. Although this model, sometimes known as 'prospect–regarding equal opportunities' formed part of the legislation of the early 1970s, it was seldom used (Iganski and Mason, 2003). A need to employ policies to reduce gaps in income, educational attainment, wealth and health was recognised and addressed by such legislation as the Equal Pay Act, 1970, Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and Race Relations Act 1976 (superceded by the Equality Act 2010). Liberal notions of equality became the preferred option of New Labour following the Macpherson Report. For Edwards and Batley (1978), it can be used in two different ways. • 6. Is Equality Obsolete? Equality is a loosely used term when discussed around the world. According to Merriam Webster, equality means, "The quality or state of being equal". As a peer counselor one of my jobs is to effectively communicate with my students and have a strong interpersonal relationship with each and every one of them. Equality is making sure all people are treated equally, equality is not economic disparity. The restraints put into place whether it be by, the government or people that have the power to influence the outcome of something, has shaped today's society and resonates till this day. The meaning equality is your peers feeling welcomed regardless of their race, sexual orientation and social status; not treating anyone less based off hearsay and prejudice. There are a variety of attributes that we can discuss when communicating, but I want to focus on equality not just for others but ones self. Communicating effectively with one another is key to a successful discussion. When coming into contact with your peers remember that you are equals. You may be in disagreement; but that does not give you the right to disrespect them because it distorts your character. Students can be more effective verbally if individuals do not try to overpower each other. Through the years history has shown that America is striving for equality for all. Congress passes laws which everyone must abide. Others practice their rights as Americans and protest if they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Equality And Equality In Society According to human rights, each and every one must be treated equally. However, in a society, inequality can be witnessed in several ways, for example, discrimination in terms of gender, caste, creed, race, ethnicity, and religion. Equality basically implies provision or access to all the opportunities prevailing in a society. In fact, equality laws and regulations are formulated to safeguard every individual from getting discriminated in various social settings. For example, one can become a victim of inequality in his or her workplace. Equal rights are extremely crucial to provide equal opportunities. The same is based on nothing but the legal obligations that the commoners must comply with. Equality also helps to protect people from getting discriminated on group membership grounds. It is often argued that laws and regulations in any genre mostly help in promoting national unity. Under equality laws, all human beings are equal. Human beings possess inherent dignity and therefore deserve just and equal treatment. One gender or race should not get the privilege to consider superior over other race or gender. Race, skin color or a gender cannot completely define an individual. Even in 21st century, society still portrays inequality amongst human beings in different genres. The primary research question for this paper is– "why equal rights should prevail in the society?" The main aim of this study is to understand the primary reason behind the prevalence of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Equality : Equality And Equality Have you ever thought about how the world can be equal? If everyone were truly equal, the world would have to be very different. Laws and government would need to make sure that no one were unique. The government would also have to be able to keep people from breaking the laws so they would not break the rules and to not go against the government. Milton Friedman said, "A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both." If you put equality before freedom then the outcome will be bad for the people because it takes away their freedom to speak out on what they feel or on what they want to do.I feel like freedom should be more valued than equality. If society ever have more equality but no freedom than society would have trouble speaking out on what they believe in they would just have to deal with whatever the government said for them to do. If people were to ever put equality before freedom then it would not turn out good for them. For example in "The Giver" they had to live in a world full of equality and they had no freedom to do as they pleased.so if people ever decide to choose equality over freedom they have to know what they are willing to give up to get equality.but if they choose freedom then they have a better chances to have both equality and freedom then just having equality and no freedom.if people ever think it through then they would know to choose freedom over equality.Abraham Lincoln had said "These men ask for just the same thing: fairness, and fairness only. People can always have a chance to pick freedom if they ever wanted to they can also pick equality instead of freedom.so if they where to chose freedom they would get what is best for them instead of what is best for the government.people can also choose what they want to do and how they want to do it instead of someone else doing it for them.so if people choose freedom then they would be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Equity And Equality : Equity Vs. Equality Equity vs Equality. Over the years, multiple distinguished authors, politicians, teachers, and philosophers have weighed with their opinion. Equality is ultimate state of being equal in all things, including opportunists, states, and rights. Equity, on the other hand, describes being fair and impartial in all situations. Words that are so similar yet, completely different. Equity is being fair, and being fair doesn't always mean being completely equal to everybody. Equality, sounds good however as time has shown equality is only beneficial if everyone has the same advantages and all benefit equally from the system . What happens when everyone does not have the same inborn advantages? We begin to have unfair disadvantages aimed at marginalized people. Equity is the path that as a society, we must take in order to improve. Sherman Alexie, in the essay, "Superman and Me", argues that as a minority, he was at a disadvantage in the education system and struggled to find footing. The author supports his argument by illustrating his early childhood life and educational struggles in detail. Alexie's purpose is to alert teachers of the troubles that minorities go through, so that society inserts equity into the education system. Certainly, Alexie's illustration of his childhood struggles are an enlightening experience. While he does not directly address the question, it does shed some light on the ongoing debate. Equity vs Equality, which is more beneficial. Equality has been used since Jim Crow when southern schools installed the mentality of 'separate but equal'. This mentality exhibited that even though they were separate, nothing was ever truly equal. This mentality failed. Looking at our system now, one cannot help but point out the similarities to the old Jim Crow system. As Albert Einstein would say, Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Equity is the opposite. Equity would ensure that those who needed extra or additional help would receive because that would be fair. Moreover, in the speech 'A Talk With Teachers' the author James Baldwin, claims that minorities, especially African Americans, experience a different type of upbringing in contrast to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Reflection About Equality When people jump into the question of whether or not the world knows equality, I find myself listening to people who believe that our society has become one that includes everyone. However, I wasn't able to create an answer to this question for myself. Growing up as a closeted and eventual openly gay teenager in a world where hetorsexuality dominates society has had me teetering on whether or not I actually felt equal to the one's around me. Shifting views from others caused me to wonder where I actually fit into this world. Throughout my life, these experiences eventually allowed me to form my own opinion on the topic. From Kindergarten to late elementary school, kids have the wonderful advantage of not knowing stereotypes. I remember...show more content... If I have to fake my way in, will I ever view myself as equal to them? Going to family events was even more difficult. Fortunately, no side of my family has ever been very religious or considered "backwards", but every once and awhile I'd have my grandmother ask about "Where's the girlfriend?". I'd jokingly say that I didn't have one, and my mother would start bragging about all of the girls I hung out with, alluding that I had some sort of relationship with them. If my family knew the truth would they still view me as an equal? Keeping a mask around school is pretty easy, but hiding who you are to your family is pretty difficult. Lucky for me, I was able to make some close friends in High School that I was able to tell right away that I was gay. They were easy to accept everything, which ultimately gave me hope for what the rest of the school would think. Though I still kept the secret to myself, I resorted back to my natural feminine ways. I will always remember the moment when I was in my Freshman Cooking class and the teacher actually asked another student to ask me if I was gay due to my voice. I remember standing there, face ridiculously red, and not having anything to say. My sophomore year of high school were where things really took off for me. I met a guy outside of my school that I began to date. My close friends were ecstatic and happy for me, and I can easily say that I was happy for myself. Halfway through the year, I'd decided that it was time to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

"Throughout its, America has symbolized equality of opportunity for people of all races, origins, religions and creeds, serving as a beacon of hope for anyone seeking a better life. However, despite its founding principles of equality and acceptance, the United States also has a long history of denying basic rights to certain people" (LGBT Equality). When the US discriminates against a certain thing people retaliate and rise up and try to make new laws to help their cause. The LGBT community has been striving to bring equality in many ways. The LGBT community has made great strides in gaining equality of same–sex marriage, gay adoption, and transgender equality. The LGBT community has made new laws all the time to bring about equality. One thing that has been having more equality is same–sex marriage. Since June of 2015 the U.S has said it is legal to have same–sex marriage. Lawmakers for years tried to get same–sex marriage approved. Finally, this happened "Lawmakers voted late Friday to legalize same–sex marriage, making New York the largest state where gay and lesbian couples will be able to wed and giving the national gay–rights movement new momentum from the state where it was born" (Confessore, Barbaro). Even though it was finally passed as a law to allow same–sex marriage in America in 2015, many people before that ruling that federal taxes should be used to gain the equality the LGBT move needed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Women Equality Essay The concept of equality between men and women has been heavily deliberated for the past few decades, but as we discussed in class throughout the week, it's become increasingly clear that people have drastically different ideas on what constitutes equality. Originally, when posed the question, I brought up the more prominent issues facing women in our society, politically, socially, and economically. Politically, I believe that for men and women to be equal, women need to be proportionately represented in government, from local offices to the oval office. I personally discovered the importance of this issue when I realized that women make up less than 20% of Congress, thus making men the primary deciders of women's issues. This is a...show more content... My classmate, Elise Favvia, added to this by dictating how, as a STEM major, she often sees women underrepresented in the field as well as noting that many other western nations allow women paid maternity leave, while the United States has yet to. Overall, these were my initial ideas on the conditions for equality of men and women in our society. However, through my small group discussion and class discussion, I realized that I focused on the surface issues but I overlooked the deeper underlying issues that should be addressed. For instance, Kexin Li brought up the idea intersectionality. She explained how it was necessary to recognize that women are not a single, homogenous group, but rather a diverse group with sub–sections that each have their own issues. This led her to discussing the difference between equity and equality, as equity implies noting people's differences and reaching equality through helping each group with their distinct needs, while equality implies treating everyone equally, which, now knowing the concept of intersectionality, might not actually create equality of the sexes. I deeply resonated with these ideas, as I had heard of intersectionality before, but I had never thought of it as a "condition for equality", however, Kexin Li's explanation convinced me otherwise. An idea from the class discussion that resonated with me was Alexis Availes' idea of "leadership rhetoric", specifically in public documents. She Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Equality for Women in our Society Essay Did you know that the lowest ranking female in a pack of hyenas have a higher rank than the highest male of that pack? This is drastically different from that of the social structure of humans in most societies. Even though women are soft and delicate, women deserve equality because they are compassionate, intelligent, strong, and work as hard compared to men. Women can defuse a situation in a compassionate, intellectual manner and work hard at it until peace is reached. Women should be treated equally to men because they have the same qualities in most areas as men and have qualities that some men lack. A Norwegian data stated that women are more significant as drivers of economic growth from a global standpoint (HolmГўs, 2012). In a United States Census conducted in 2010, the men to women ratio was 49.2–50.8 meaning that the number of men to women are very close (Howden & Meyer, 2011). The women who go on to attain a Bachelor's degree or more was more than 35%, more than 10% above the men (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). Between the ages of 25–29 with a Bachelor's degree or more, women have been on a steady incline since the 1940s as opposed to men (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). Women have the educational experience and drive to earn equal pay doing the same work. There is no doubt that women have the intelligence as college attendance have proven. With women making up half of the population and increased educational attainment, it is justified that they are treated fairly. Women can be seen working in nearly all fields of occupation. • 14. Equality Is The Country Of Equality Essay We all have been taught that America is the country of equality that gives everyone the same opportunities and rights. Likewise, that image can still be seen in the present timeline, as the idea of equality is the one thing that sets this country apart from other. Needless to say, we all love and support equality for we all want to see the ideal vision of a place where there is no discrimination so we can all enjoy our happiness together. However, this is where the problem comes it, as the peak of equality has become an illusion that shrouded us from the undeniable boundary that is none other than what you cannot choose from when you are born, that is your gender. What many people do not know, is that when it comes to gender, the very difference lies deeply in how the public view each gender accordingly to the bias that they been assigned to, thus the idea of equality can never be truly achieved unless we regard each gender in their own respective uniqueness and offer them each the opportunities that are necessary so that they can thrive in their own way. In other words, if there is a point where gender equality could be reached, the correct term is not equality, but equity. At first thought, we can all agree that the idea of female equality to that of male is an ideal vision for America to have, and believe it or not, the idea itself has been around for a long time. Nonetheless, the truth is that gender equality has never been able to achieve due to the fact that it is not Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Justice and equality are both two very abstract concepts with numerous controversial definitions that are never agreed upon. Depending on the situations, justice can be the same as equality, or not. In the modern world, justice is often used as a political slogan, rather than a meaningful pursuit. Meanwhile equality is also one of the leading ideals of political movements, such as equal rights movements for marriage, voting, etc. In order to answer the question: is justice the same as equality, it is necessary to understand the precise meaning of equality and justice, the relationship between the two, the measurement of the two, and their current and historical status. What is justice? What is equality? Find definition of justice & equality in Plato, Aristotle, and Cicero's writings! In Plato's Ideal State, justice is essentially equality. Any factor that might cause a difference among human beings is eliminated in his Ideal State. When everyone is the same as others in all respects, justice is equality. However, Plato's philosophy is very unpractical, given that each person has his or her unique combination of qualities and abilities. Equality: Equality presumes a certain level of difference between the things being compared. Two things or two people have to be comparable in certain aspects as well as different in others, in order to be called "equal". Equality implies similarity, not sameness. • 16. Reflection About Equality Imagine living in a society where individuality is not allowed, and being different is considered a curse. Throughout the book Equality changes drastically, at first he sees himself as a curse, and after he starts to wonder about forbidden thoughts and objects, and finally he ends up finding his true self and ego. The three main ways that Equality sees himself as an individual are through discovering electricity, meeting Equality, and running away to the Uncharted Forest. At first, Equality discovers electricity in an underground tunnel from the Unmentionable Times, causing him to find his true self. When Equality meets Liberty, it causes Equality to not care about the transgression that he has committed, but his own thoughts and feelings towards Liberty. Later on, Equality starts to depart from society because of his feelings towards Equality which he declares when he says, "You are beautiful Liberty 5–3000" (Rand 42). Equality's feelings towards Liberty are causing him to focus on his love and affections towards Equality, which causes him to be different from society. Eventually, Equality and Liberty withdraw themselves from society which is described when Equality says, "It is our own world, Golden One, a strange unknown world, but our own" (Rand 84). Liberty follows Equality into the Uncharted Forest, and they view the forest as a world that is their own, but a place in which they can express their individuality and self–worth. As a result of meeting Liberty, Equality came to perceive what love is, and discovered his true identity. • 17. Equality : Equality And Equality Imagine you must design a society where everyone is equal. This may mean equal in wealth, equal in education, equal in opportunity, but it is up to you to decide what "equal" means. A. List five rules or laws that you would need to make so that everyone is equal. (For example, everyone must wear khaki pants and white shirts.) B. Can you predict any problems that might result from these rules and laws? (For example, some people don't like the color green). Everyone can get an education no matter what their skin color, religion, etc. Problem: Some people will not be fair to people that are different from them, they will do anything to make themselves feel better. If someone is different from what we see as normal they will naturally judge them. Luckily a fair amount of people will keep their thoughts in their head and not say anything, however not everyone will be able to hold back their thoughts and that is when bullying or violence can occur. 2.People can share their own opinions. Problem: Many people do not have the same opinions. If someone doesn't agree with someone it could result in violence whether it's physical or verbal. People grow up and learn different views on life based on what they see from adults and peers. 3. People can wear whatever they want in public unless it is inappropriate. Problem: People will have different opinions on what is deemed inappropriate. Different religions, races, etc. Some people might think shorts are inappropriate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Equality : Equality In Society We live in a world where constant change is commonplace in our lives, shifting views and mindsets lead to conflicts and intricate resolutions. We are a split society, in truth. Opinions often outweigh fact, causing people and ideas to crumble. This is why equality is a topic which has become increasingly more relevant. To address this topic we must first define equality. Equality is being able to look at another person and know that they have the samerights as everyone else. It isn't just based on what someone can receive, but rather, it is based on how people perceive others. All judgments are blown away, leaving only the fact that we are human, therefore we are equal. It is a matter of respect and influence. It is being able to reach any goal that someone sets out for. It is knowing people are safe in a diverse world. However, addressing what equality is is simply one part, we must also consider how we will achieve such an idea. It is a matter of changing not just minds, but also basic perception. It starts with what influences people. The people who run our country, the people who guide us, are the ones who we are influenced the most by. The ideas they support, the words they speak, we take this into account when formulating our own opinions. While cutting off media would be a seemingly helpful solution, it would be impractical. This is where a fair amount of work must be put on the people. It should be the job of the people, of the students, to learn to separate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Essay on True Equality Equality Paper Equality can be used in many contexts, as the general definition is "the state or quality of being equal or that one thing equals another; likeness. In this paper I would like to explore equality as dealing wholly with life experiences in general. At first my definition of equality was that everybody is subject to the same set of rules, even though there are many times when the same set of rules can be unfair. An example of equality not being fair can be shown where two students are taking the same class. One student is normal in abilities and the other has a learning disability. The second student suffers fromdyslexia. The students in the class are expected to listen to the teacher and to take notes. The normal student...show more content... In this case he could provide class notes and allow more time for taking tests for the disabled student. I think that providing this assistance would make the situation fair for both students because it would allow them to learn the same amount of material. So, at this point my definition of equality would be that it is where everyone is subject to the same, fair set of rules. However, can there really be true equality in this world, when people are born into different circumstances in this life? This question seems to parallel my experiences with board games. When I have played games, I have noticed that someone always tends to roll high numbers and moves ahead of everyone else. Is this luck or skill? We all start from the same position, but whether by chance or skill in spinning the wheels or rolling the dice, our positions change. Now, in comparing this with real life, we are all born into different circumstances, not equal. Is is equality that one person is born into poverty and another is born in wealth? No, but the first person can rise from poverty with hard work while the wealthy person's family could go bankrupt or the person does not apply himself. The individuals, despite their original circumstances, could change their circumstances through time. Assuming this premise is correct, I think the matter of circumstances needs to be included in the definition. I would now define equality as everybody is subject to the same, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
