William Shakespeare History
The History of William Shakespeare William Shakespeare is famous for his many plays, poems, and sonnets. While most everyone knows who
Shakespeare is and can name at least one of his many works, not much is known about William Shakespeare as a person. We have little record of his
life which has made some people question his existence. Who is this mysterious person and what do we know? (history.com staff, 2011, biography.com
editors, 2017 and Jamieson, 2016)
Most scholars agree that William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in
Stratford–upon–Avon. His father is John Shakespeare. John had experience in many different types of work including: farming, wood trading, leather
work, tanning, money lending, and held many municipal positions. Around the 1580s John fell into debt. William's mother was Mary
Arden whose father was an aristocratic landowner. Mary and John had two daughters, Joan and
Judith, and three other sons, Gilbert, Richard, and Edmund. Unfortunately, three of the eight children they had passed away in childhood. There are no
records of William Shakespeare's education though most scholars assume that he went to the Kings New School in Stratford. At this school he would
have learned reading, writing, and the classics. (history.com staff, 2011 and biography.com editors, 2017)
On November 28, 1582, at the age of eighteen, Shakespeare married Anne
Hathaway in Worcester, in Canterbury

William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford–upon–Avon, England. He was the third of eight children in the Shakespeare family. His
parents were Mary Arden and John Shakespeare. He attended the Stratford grammar school at the age of seven and attended the Holy Trinity parish
church. At the age of 18, Shakespeare married 26–year–old Anne Hathaway. They had three children; Susanna, Judith, and Hamnet. Historians are
unsure about when Shakespeare began his playwriting, but some think he began his upstart form 1585–1592. This period was known as the "lost years"
because no one knew what he was doing during this period. He traveled to London before 1592 to begin his early career in theatre. He began his
career as a sharer for the Lord Chamberlain's Men. The theatre unfortunately shut down and Shakespeare needed money. This is when he turned to
writing poems. During this time, Shakespeare wrote the poem Venus and Adonis, which was the first work of his that was published. Theatres
reopened and returned to acting and playwriting. His popularity grew rapidly during the 1590's. He became heavily involved in the world of theatre
from 1594–1608. During this successful period, he was rated London's most popular playwright. This was based on the amount of times his plays
were performed and published. During the late 1590's, Shakespeare became wealthy and was an established writer. He continued to act and even
rented the Globe Theatre for performances. In his last eight years of living, Shakespeare was only able to produce three plays by himself and three
more with help from John Fletcher and other English dramatists. He divided his time between His hometown, Stratford and London. Shakespeare
spent time in London until 1604 and 1611. He finally went home for his daughter's wedding and his mother;s death. By 1612, he was declared
England's most successful playwright. He stayed in Stratford for the remaining years he was alive. Shakespeare died on his 52 birthday in his
hometown.
William Shakespeare had written many plays, poems, and sonnets in his lifetime. Shakespeare wrote a total of 36 plays, five long poems, and 154
sonnets. He was a writer for about 21 years, from 1592–1613. Historians

Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway had a daughter in 1583 and twins– a boy and a girl– in 1585. The boy however, eventually did not live. The age of
Shakespeare was a great time in English history. The reign of Elizabeth, from 1558 to 1603, saw England emerge as the leading naval and
commercial power of the Western world. Elizabeth I's England consolidated its position with the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588, and firmly
established the Church of England. Sir Humphrey Gilbert and Sir Walter Raleigh sent colonists eastward in search of profit. In trade, might, and art,
England established an envious preeminence. At this time, London was the heart of England, reflecting all the vibrant qualities of the Elizabethan Age.
It was in this atmosphere that London became a leading center of culture as well as commerce. Its dramatists and poets were among the leading
literary artists of the daythis is the environment in which Shakespeare lived and wrote. In the 1580's, the writings of the University Wits defined the
London theatre. Though grounded in medieval/Jacobean roots, men such as Marlowe, Greene, Lyly, Kyd, and Peele, produced new dramas and
comedies using Marlowe's styling of blank verse. Shakespeare outdid them all; he combined the best traits of Elizabethan drama with

William Shakespeare was a great writer who lead a very interesting life. In fact, he is often though of as "the greatest write of his time."
As a child, William Shakespeare started his education at around the age of "six or seven at Stratford grammar school, also known as the King's New
School of Stratford–upon–Avon."(Brooke pg23) It would be most likely that Shakespeare's lessons would focus around "Latin composition and the
study of Latin authors like Seneca, Cicero, Ovid, Vigil, and Horace."(Brooke pg23) Shakespeare's schooling did not last long however, when he was

is known about Anne and her children around this date, except for the death of her son,
Hamnet, at the age of eleven on August 11, 1596. William Shakespeare was left without an aire, but by this time he had already left for England to
start his career.
As mentioned before, Shakespeare had an early period of his life which led from his withdrawal from grammar school, to his marriage to Anne
Hathaway, which is commonly referred to as his "lost years." Now comes the second section of his life where not much is heard of him and is also
likewise known as his "lost years." This period lasted seven years, from the time he left his family in Stratford to the time he had become an
established actor by the end of 1592. It is thought that during this time "he practiced his skills and may have even been recruited by the Leicester's or
Queen's Men."(Bentley pg 14) Many of his plays had already become well known, such as Henry VI, The Comedy of Errors, and Titus Andronicus.
When the theatres were closed from 1592 to 1593, during this time, Shakespeare wrote many non–dramatic poems. When the Earl of Southampton saw
his work, he immediately gave Shakespeare the support he needed. With the Earl's help, Shakespeare returned back to the theatre in 1594. "He then
became so immersed with his work that he was more involved in the theatre than anyone else. He now shared ownership of the Globe." (Mabillard

William Shakespeare: A Brief Biography
William Shakespeare is arguably the most well known and successful author is the history of literature. Little is known about Shakespeare's
childhood and is what questions he's existence. Besides the lack of knowledge of his childhood, Shakespeare lived a successful adult life. His plays
changed the english language language forever. In all of his success, people still doubt he ever existed. William Shakespeare's birth is unknown but
church records show that he was baptised on April 26, 1564. It is guessed that if his parents followed tradition, he was born three days before his
baptism on April 23. William was the son of John Shakespeare and Mary Arden who lived in the town of Stratford upon Avon. Stratford upon avon
was a small country town at the intersection of a country road and the river Avon. John Shakespeare was a successful leather merchant up until the
birth of his four sons and two daughters. Public records show that John's fortunes soon began to decline and eventually he became a public official.
This would be key later down the road for William. No indication of where William went to school is one reason why people question his existence.
It is believed though that William went to a school for public official's children only called The King's New School. If he did attend here, William
would have learned reading, writing, and the classics. Many scholars doubt that William attended here because he would have had to learn elsewhere

The Life of William Shakespeare William Shakespeare is one of the most identifiable icons of England. Shakespeare was one of the greatest and most
influential playwright and poet during his lifetime. He is known as the greatest dramatist of all time due to his many poems and plays, such as "Shall
I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day?" and Romeo and Juliet. However, despite being so well known in the world of literature, there is not much
known about the childhood of William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare is said to be born on April 23, 1564, although his actual birthday is not

The troupe even received invitations to perform in front of Queen Elizabeth I. Due to Shakespeare's raising success, by 1597, Shakespeare had the
second largest house in Stratford, called the New House. By 1599, Shakespeare and the Chamberlain's Men had built their own theater, called the
Globe, in which many of his most famous plays were performed for the first time. In 1609, publisher Thomas Thorpe had printed a collection of 154
of Shakespeare's sonnets. In 1611, Shakespeare left London and moved back to Stratford, where his wife lived. Eventually on his 52nd birthday, on
April 23, 1616, Shakespeare died to an unknown cause and was buried on April 25, 1616.
The poem, "Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day?" is written by William Shakespeare. Sonnet eighteen, "Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's
Day?", has fourteen lines of iambic pentameter ending in a rhymed couplet. In sonnet 18, the speaker gives a meaning and message of beauty, a
positive tone, and figures of speech. The speaker compares his beloved to the summer season, and argues that she is better. This is a romantic poem
with a great message that internal beauty is immortal and priceless, which is still relevant to this day and touches the hearts of the reader. The depth at
which Shakespeare goes into and the language that is used is inspiring. The

William Shakespeare's Biography William Shakespeare (1564–1616): Though William Shakespeare is recognized as one of literature's greatest
influences, very little is actually known about him. What we do know about his life comes from registrar records, court records, wills, marriage
certificates and his tombstone. Anecdotes and criticisms by his rivals also speak of the famous playwright and suggest that he was indeed a
playwright, poet and an actor. William was born in 1564. We know this from the earliest record we have of his life; his baptism which happened on

Bard lived with his father, John Shakespeare, we can presume that he grew up in Henley Street, some one hundred miles northwest of London. Very
little is known about literature's most famous playwright. We know that the King's New Grammar School taught boys basic reading and writing. We
assume William attended this school since it existed to educate the sons of Stratford but we have no definite proof. Likewise a lack of evidence
suggests that William, whose works are studied universally at Universities, never attended one himself! A bond certificate dated November the 28th,
1582, reveals that an eighteen year old William married the twenty–six and pregnant Anne Hathaway. Barely seven months later, they had his first
daughter, Susanna. Anne never left Stratford, living there her entire life. Baptism records show that William's first child, Susanna was baptized in
Stratford sometime in May, 1583. Baptism records again reveal that twins Hamnet and Judith were born in February 1592. Hamnet, William's only son
died in 1596, just eleven years old. Hamnet and Judith were named after William's close friends, Judith and Hamnet Sadler. William's family

The third period ending around 1610 marks perhaps the apex of Shakespeare's work with the tragedies, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Cleopatra,
Macbeth, Timon of Athens, All's Well that Ends Well, and Measure of Measure. The final period ends around 1611 with the plays, Prince of Tyre,
Cymbeline, The Winter's Tale, The Tempest, Henry VIII, and The Two Noble Kinsmen.
Shakespeare introduced complex and tender characters, such as Henry IV part I and II, Henry V Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet. Many critics believe
that Shakespeare's greatest tragedies represent the peak of his art. Shakespeare's first plays were written in the conventional style of the day. Soon,
however, Shakespeare began to adapt the traditional styles to his own purposes. By the time of Romeo and Juliet, Richard II, and A Midsummer
Night's Dream in the mid–1590s, Shakespeare had begun to write a more natural poetry. He increasingly tuned his metaphors and images to the needs
of the drama itself.
In regards of William Shakespeare's religion, William's mother was from Catholic and some scholars say that Shakespeare's family is from Catholic

Along with being translated into every language, Shakespeare's words reach and are accepted by multiple races and cultures (McMillan). A reason
William Shakespeare is accepted by multiple races could be the fact that he does not ignore the issues and "tensions" between them and instead
makes light of them by including them in his plays such as Othello and The Merchant of Venice. He addresses the struggles between different colors
and religions. He never takes a designated side; he simply tells a story which is what has helped him be so well accepted ("Race – Introduction"). Not
only has Shakespeare related to his audiences through racial aspects, but also through common emotional experiences. Shakespeare used his words
and made them speak to his audiences using emotional feelings that anyone would naturally feel (McMillan). His works can be classified into three
main categories: tragedies, histories, and comedies ("William Shakespeare" 656). Each of these categories has characters that the audience can relate
to somehow. With Shakespeare's tragedies, his characters are noble heroes that are looked up to that are all facing tragedy. His histories obviously tell
the stories of events that have happened for people to relate to. William Shakespeare's comedies have characters that many find irresistible. And lastly,
the women in his plays can also be relatable. We can all

William Shakespeare: Real or Fake?
Introduction
Who is the real Shakespeare? There are those who insist that William Shakespeare is the author of the many works attributed to him and reports state
that there are those who believe some type of conspiracy exists to protect the real name of the author of those works. Claims state that there is no
evidence to document William Shakespeare of Stratford as the author and that he did not have the aristocratic background, education, or knowledge to
have written such content as is found in the works of Shakespeare. It is reported that the evidence that does exist to document his life are inclusive of
such as "mundane personal details such as vital records of his baptism, marriage and death, tax records, lawsuits to recover debts and real estate
transactions." (Nicoll, 2010)
There are no documents that show he was the recipient of an education and there are further no letters, literary manuscripts, or other documents to
support him having written those works. Prominent individuals who have been swayed by those who do not believe Shakespeare as the author of the
poetry and plays attributed to him include such as Helen Keller, Mark Twain, Sigmund Freud, Henry James, Orson Welles, and Charlie Chapman. The
endorsements of these individuals are stated to be a primary "element in many anti–Stratfordian arguments." (Nicoll, 2010, p.3)

They had their first daughter, Susanna, on May 26, 1583. And less than two years later had twins, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died at the age of

approximately 1592. It is unsure of why this took place, and various theories have been broadcasted. There is one story that states he may have been
working as an assistant schoolmaster in Lancashire for a time, and another that discusses an event where he had to flee Stratford after a poaching on
land owned by Sir Thomas Lucy. In any case Shakespeare arrived alone in London, and began to establish himself as not only an actor, but also a
playwright.
Immediately Shakespeare acquired a substantial amount of attention from citizens in the community and by 1594, he was a promise to the
entertainment world in London. He served as devoted member in the Lord Chamberlain's company, and published his very first play, Litus
Andronicus. Along with Will Kempe, a fine comedian of the time, and Richard Burbage, a leading actor, the Lord Chamberlain's Men became a most
desired, and popular group all across the city. In the mid–1590's the plague forced theatres in London to close, to halt the spread of disease, and this
was when William Shakespeare and the rest of his troupe, began plans for the Globe Theatre.

as of today that William Shakespeare is the greatest writer of English Literature. His plays have been made into movies, books have been written,
music has been conducted and published, and if your real lucky you might even be able to see a play of one of his greatest stories ever told; in
which I have seen many movies and read many books. Here are some of my favorite stories ever written; Othello, The Moon of Venice, The Taming
of the Shrew, Twelfth Night or What You Will, Julius Caesar, Richard III, Macbeth (which was a favorite in high school), Midsummer Night's Dream
( I have read that book), Henry V, Hamlet, which I might add Mel Gibson did very well playing that part, and my most favorite love story of all time,
Romeo and Juliet. As you can see the title says it all. His mind went to the extreme and with such little education he just knew what his passion was and
went for it. William Shakespeare's children, as mentioned earlier, Susanna, Hamnet and Judith had a much different life of the great English Poet.
William Shakespeare's first born, Susanna, was raised by her mother, Anne. When Susanna turned twenty–four she was to marry a prosperous medical
doctor. The wedding was held on June 5th 1607. Susanna had a baby girl eight

A Brief Biography of William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare, the man of many artistic talents, is still quite a mysterious figure in today's world, mainly because of the lack of records on
this man; but also because of his writings. According to what little the Holy Trinity Church had documented on William Shakespeare, the legal and
business transactions including some theatrical and Court documents as well as his life's work, can be used to put the little bits of information given
to us to see the basic overview of this man's life, use it to see the Globe Theater where he worked as a playwright and an actor, as well as what the
Elizabethan Era that he lived in was like.
Elizabethan England Era, or the Golden Age in England, started in 1558 when Queen Elizabeth succeeded her Catholic sister Mary I and
re–established the Protestant Anglican Church. During this Era William Shakespeare was born in Stratford–upon–Avon on April 23, 1564 to a John
Shakespeare, a glover and leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a landed local heiress. Three days later, on April 26, 1564 William Shakespeare was
baptized in the Holy Trinity Church. William Shakespeare was the third oldest out of the eight children born into the Shakespeare's family. In the 1570's
during the excommunication of Queen Elizabeth 1 from the Catholic Church, Shakespeare's fathers lost most of his money.
With the loss of their fortune, Shakespeare's father's job as a Stratford official would have been able to give William a waiver of tuition; which would

William Shakespeare History

  • 1. William Shakespeare History The History of William Shakespeare William Shakespeare is famous for his many plays, poems, and sonnets. While most everyone knows who Shakespeare is and can name at least one of his many works, not much is known about William Shakespeare as a person. We have little record of his life which has made some people question his existence. Who is this mysterious person and what do we know? (history.com staff, 2011, biography.com editors, 2017 and Jamieson, 2016) Most scholars agree that William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford–upon–Avon. His father is John Shakespeare. John had experience in many different types of work including: farming, wood trading, leather work, tanning, money lending, and held many municipal positions. Around the 1580s John fell into debt. William's mother was Mary Arden whose father was an aristocratic landowner. Mary and John had two daughters, Joan and Judith, and three other sons, Gilbert, Richard, and Edmund. Unfortunately, three of the eight children they had passed away in childhood. There are no records of William Shakespeare's education though most scholars assume that he went to the Kings New School in Stratford. At this school he would have learned reading, writing, and the classics. (history.com staff, 2011 and biography.com editors, 2017) On November 28, 1582, at the age of eighteen, Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway in Worcester, in Canterbury Get more content on HelpWriting.net

His parents were Mary Arden and John Shakespeare. He attended the Stratford grammar school at the age of seven and attended the Holy Trinity parish church. At the age of 18, Shakespeare married 26–year–old Anne Hathaway. They had three children; Susanna, Judith, and Hamnet. Historians are unsure about when Shakespeare began his playwriting, but some think he began his upstart form 1585–1592. This period was known as the "lost years" because no one knew what he was doing during this period. He traveled to London before 1592 to begin his early career in theatre. He began his career as a sharer for the Lord Chamberlain's Men. The theatre unfortunately shut down and Shakespeare needed money. This is when he turned to writing poems. During this time, Shakespeare wrote the poem Venus and Adonis, which was the first work of his that was published. Theatres reopened and returned to acting and playwriting. His popularity grew rapidly during the 1590's. He became heavily involved in the world of theatre from 1594–1608. During this successful period, he was rated London's most popular playwright. This was based on the amount of times his plays were performed and published. During the late 1590's, Shakespeare became wealthy and was an established writer. He continued to act and even rented the Globe Theatre for performances. In his last eight years of living, Shakespeare was only able to produce three plays by himself and three more with help from John Fletcher and other English dramatists. He divided his time between His hometown, Stratford and London. Shakespeare spent time in London until 1604 and 1611. He finally went home for his daughter's wedding and his mother;s death. By 1612, he was declared England's most successful playwright. He stayed in Stratford for the remaining years he was alive. Shakespeare died on his 52 birthday in his hometown. He was baptized on April 24, 1564, in Stratford –upon–Avon, Warwickshire. He was the third of eight children born to John Shakespeare and Mary Arden, three of whom died in childhood. John was a well–known merchant and Mary was the daughter of a Roman Catholic member of the gentry, or high social position. The house where Shakespeare spent his childhood stood adjacent to he wool shop in which his father plied a successful trade as a glover and dealer in leather goods and other commodities. He was thought to have left Stratford after he was caught poaching in the deer park of Sir Thomas Lucy. He was a local justice of the peace. Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway had a daughter in 1583 and twins– a boy and a girl– in 1585. The boy however, eventually did not live. The age of Shakespeare was a great time in English history. The reign of Elizabeth, from 1558 to 1603, saw England emerge as the leading naval and commercial power of the Western world. Elizabeth I's England consolidated its position with the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588, and firmly established the Church of England. Sir Humphrey Gilbert and Sir Walter Raleigh sent colonists eastward in search of profit. In trade, might, and art, England established an envious preeminence. At this time, London was the heart of England, reflecting all the vibrant qualities of the Elizabethan Age. It was in this atmosphere that London became a leading center of culture as well as commerce. Its dramatists and poets were among the leading literary artists of the daythis is the environment in which Shakespeare lived and wrote. In the 1580's, the writings of the University Wits defined the London theatre. Though grounded in medieval/Jacobean roots, men such as Marlowe, Greene, Lyly, Kyd, and Peele, produced new dramas and comedies using Marlowe's styling of blank verse. In fact, he is often though of as "the greatest write of his time." As a child, William Shakespeare started his education at around the age of "six or seven at Stratford grammar school, also known as the King's New School of Stratford–upon–Avon."(Brooke pg23) It would be most likely that Shakespeare's lessons would focus around "Latin composition and the study of Latin authors like Seneca, Cicero, Ovid, Vigil, and Horace."(Brooke pg23) Shakespeare's schooling did not last long however, when he was removed from school at the age of thirteen due to...show more content... Not much is known about Anne and her children around this date, except for the death of her son, Hamnet, at the age of eleven on August 11, 1596. William Shakespeare was left without an aire, but by this time he had already left for England to start his career. As mentioned before, Shakespeare had an early period of his life which led from his withdrawal from grammar school, to his marriage to Anne Hathaway, which is commonly referred to as his "lost years." Now comes the second section of his life where not much is heard of him and is also likewise known as his "lost years." This period lasted seven years, from the time he left his family in Stratford to the time he had become an established actor by the end of 1592. It is thought that during this time "he practiced his skills and may have even been recruited by the Leicester's or Queen's Men."(Bentley pg 14) Many of his plays had already become well known, such as Henry VI, The Comedy of Errors, and Titus Andronicus. When the theatres were closed from 1592 to 1593, during this time, Shakespeare wrote many non–dramatic poems. When the Earl of Southampton saw his work, he immediately gave Shakespeare the support he needed. With the Earl's help, Shakespeare returned back to the theatre in 1594. "He then became so immersed with his work that he was more involved in the theatre than anyone else. He now shared ownership of the Globe." (Mabillard Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Little is known about Shakespeare's childhood and is what questions he's existence. Besides the lack of knowledge of his childhood, Shakespeare lived a successful adult life. His plays changed the english language language forever. In all of his success, people still doubt he ever existed. William Shakespeare's birth is unknown but church records show that he was baptised on April 26, 1564. It is guessed that if his parents followed tradition, he was born three days before his baptism on April 23. William was the son of John Shakespeare and Mary Arden who lived in the town of Stratford upon Avon. Stratford upon avon was a small country town at the intersection of a country road and the river Avon. John Shakespeare was a successful leather merchant up until the birth of his four sons and two daughters. Public records show that John's fortunes soon began to decline and eventually he became a public official. This would be key later down the road for William. No indication of where William went to school is one reason why people question his existence. It is believed though that William went to a school for public official's children only called The King's New School. By 1599, Shakespeare and the Chamberlain's Men had built their own theater, called the Globe, in which many of his most famous plays were performed for the first time. In 1609, publisher Thomas Thorpe had printed a collection of 154 of Shakespeare's sonnets. In 1611, Shakespeare left London and moved back to Stratford, where his wife lived. Eventually on his 52nd birthday, on April 23, 1616, Shakespeare died to an unknown cause and was buried on April 25, 1616. The poem, "Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day?" is written by William Shakespeare. Sonnet eighteen, "Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day?", has fourteen lines of iambic pentameter ending in a rhymed couplet. In sonnet 18, the speaker gives a meaning and message of beauty, a positive tone, and figures of speech. The speaker compares his beloved to the summer season, and argues that she is better. This is a romantic poem with a great message that internal beauty is immortal and priceless, which is still relevant to this day and touches the hearts of the reader. • 8. William Shakespeare's Biography Essay William Shakespeare's Biography William Shakespeare (1564–1616): Though William Shakespeare is recognized as one of literature's greatest influences, very little is actually known about him. What we do know about his life comes from registrar records, court records, wills, marriage certificates and his tombstone. Anecdotes and criticisms by his rivals also speak of the famous playwright and suggest that he was indeed a playwright, poet and an actor. William was born in 1564. We know this from the earliest record we have of his life; his baptism which happened on Wednesday, April the 26th, 1564. We don't actually know his birthday but from this record we assume he was born in 1564. Similarly by knowing the famous Bard's baptism...show more content... In the Bard's case, the apple didn't fall far from the tree at all... William's mother was Mary Arden who married John Shakespeare in 1557. The youngest daughter in her family, she inherited much of her father's landowning and farming estate when he died. Since we know Stratford's famous Bard lived with his father, John Shakespeare, we can presume that he grew up in Henley Street, some one hundred miles northwest of London. Very little is known about literature's most famous playwright. We know that the King's New Grammar School taught boys basic reading and writing. We assume William attended this school since it existed to educate the sons of Stratford but we have no definite proof. Likewise a lack of evidence suggests that William, whose works are studied universally at Universities, never attended one himself! A bond certificate dated November the 28th, 1582, reveals that an eighteen year old William married the twenty–six and pregnant Anne Hathaway. Barely seven months later, they had his first daughter, Susanna. Anne never left Stratford, living there her entire life. Baptism records show that William's first child, Susanna was baptized in Stratford sometime in May, 1583. Baptism records again reveal that twins Hamnet and Judith were born in February 1592. Hamnet, William's only son died in 1596, just eleven years old. Hamnet and Judith were named after William's close friends, Judith and Hamnet Sadler. The third period ending around 1610 marks perhaps the apex of Shakespeare's work with the tragedies, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Cleopatra, Macbeth, Timon of Athens, All's Well that Ends Well, and Measure of Measure. The final period ends around 1611 with the plays, Prince of Tyre, Cymbeline, The Winter's Tale, The Tempest, Henry VIII, and The Two Noble Kinsmen. Shakespeare introduced complex and tender characters, such as Henry IV part I and II, Henry V Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet. Many critics believe that Shakespeare's greatest tragedies represent the peak of his art. Shakespeare's first plays were written in the conventional style of the day. Soon, however, Shakespeare began to adapt the traditional styles to his own purposes. By the time of Romeo and Juliet, Richard II, and A Midsummer Night's Dream in the mid–1590s, Shakespeare had begun to write a more natural poetry. He increasingly tuned his metaphors and images to the needs of the drama itself. In regards of William Shakespeare's religion, William's mother was from Catholic and some scholars say that Shakespeare's family is from Catholic and the biggest evidence is that they found a document signed by John Shakespeare which is William's father and it was found in 1757 in his former house which is in Henley Street. His works are then broken down into tragedies, comedies, and histories. Shakespeare left this world centuries ago, but his writings continue to live throughout the world today. He has greatly impacted the world of literature and his existence will forever be remembered. In 1564, William Shakespeare was born in Stratford–upon–Avon (Hazell 32). Along with being translated into every language, Shakespeare's words reach and are accepted by multiple races and cultures (McMillan). A reason William Shakespeare is accepted by multiple races could be the fact that he does not ignore the issues and "tensions" between them and instead makes light of them by including them in his plays such as Othello and The Merchant of Venice. He addresses the struggles between different colors and religions. He never takes a designated side; he simply tells a story which is what has helped him be so well accepted ("Race – Introduction"). Not only has Shakespeare related to his audiences through racial aspects, but also through common emotional experiences. Shakespeare used his words and made them speak to his audiences using emotional feelings that anyone would naturally feel (McMillan). His works can be classified into three main categories: tragedies, histories, and comedies ("William Shakespeare" 656). Each of these categories has characters that the audience can relate to somehow. With Shakespeare's tragedies, his characters are noble heroes that are looked up to that are all facing tragedy. His histories obviously tell the stories of events that have happened for people to relate to. William Shakespeare's comedies have characters that many find irresistible. And lastly, the women in his plays can also be relatable. We can all Get more content on HelpWriting.net
