This document discusses the benefits and challenges of using open educational resources (OER). The benefits include significant cost savings due to freely available materials, access to a wide range of current information that can be customized to specific needs, and the ability to access information on a global scale. However, challenges include difficulty finding desired information, needing to evaluate information quality, potential language and translation issues, relying on internet speed and connectivity, and creating effective hybrid classes that combine OER and traditional resources.
