2. ABSTRACT
The report herein presented reveals the key outcomes of the internship
developed at Critical Software, S.A., as part of the requirements for the Master
Degree in Business Administration, by the Faculty of Economics of the University
of Coimbra.
The document is structured in four key parts. The initial part corresponds
to the company presentation (Critical Software, S.A.), as well as, the description of
the activities developed while supporting the corporate finance and the product
development department. The second part discloses the state-of-the-art regarding
the latest theory on startup companies’ development – Lean Startup. The third part
connects the principles of application of Lean Startup theory to Critical Software
processes and product development practices. The fourth part of the report
embodies a critical analysis, regarding the application of Lean Startup theory to
company practices and operations.
