2. P2 Stacking Kit Re-design
8/23/2016 2
P2 Variation from Current Production
• Front bracket, screws, and
adhesive strip will carryover from
current production.
• Rear brackets will mount directly
into worktop in P2 vs. mounting
to rear top panel bracket in Miami
and Affinity XXL
• P2 brackets will decrease in
overall length because of shorter
worktop
3. Potential Changes
• The two adhesive strips on the side of the current production are used for protection from
cosmetic damage potentially caused by the bottom of the dryer.
• Minimal contact from the from the washer worktop to the dryer bottom may eliminate the
need for cosmetic strips.

• Note, the radius of the P2 washer
worktop does not allow space for the
strips.
4. Rear Bracket Support
The rear brackets support the dryer from moving horizontally. The left bracket prevents
the dryer from moving right, and the right bracket prevents the bracket from moving left.

5. Modifications for Assembly
• Current design of Pilot 2 worktop will require four additional holes to accommodate new
bracket design.
Note, this is the left rear view, two more holes will be needed for the right side.

6. Summary
• A mock-up rear bracket was made and matches Catia measurements.
• Current production bracket was modified to make the mock-up bracket, due to excessive
bending material properties were compromised.

7. Next Steps
• Test plan needs to be put together.
• Life testing
• Unbalanced load on an uneven surface.
• FEA for thinner work top on Pilot 2.
• See if results demand for the two extra brackets inside of worktop.

8. Contingency Plan of Action
• If the worktop sheet metal is too thin to support the brackets holding the dryer in the rear new
brackets can be used inside of the washer work top.
• Shown in the blue box; the slot and screw hole inside the washer worktop are current there,
so no tooling changes need to be made.

back of it transparent to show alignment
with the screw holes.
