Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter in support of Wally Cheung, who I came to know through his work in the
Social and Epidemiological Research Department at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
(CAMH) in Toronto, Canada. Wally was working on a project using data from the CAMH
Monitor, a repeated cross-sectional telephone survey of Ontario adults. Wally’s work focused on
potential age differences in the risk factors for anxiety and mood disorders (AMD). This is an
important research topic, as AMD has a significant impact on the well-being and quality of life
of millions of people worldwide. Wally’s findings were both informative and innovative, and his
final project was presented in a poster at the 15th
World Congress of Psychiatry in Buenos Aires,
Argentina.
In conducting his analysis, Wally demonstrated an outstanding ability to understand and apply
difficult concepts, as well as a diligent, hard-working, and dedicated focus on the task at hand.
He was able to work well both independently and as part of a team. He was eager to learn and
was willing to ask for assistance or guidance when needed. He was equally willing to offer his
assistance to others. On a personal level, Wally is friendly and affable, and contributes to a
positive atmosphere in the office. Overall, I believe strongly that Wally would make an excellent
addition to your team. If I can provide any additional information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Kind regards,
