meetings between the two teams dating back to 2010. The Lady Buffs took all four
meetings last season by a combined score of 35-3, WT is 8-6 all-time in Portales including
winning the last seven meetings there.

and Lacey Taylor are two of 25 finalists for the Schutt Sports/NFCA National Player of

HOME SWEET HOME
The Lady Buffs have gone 22-2 inside of the friendly
confines of Schaeffer Park this season to contin-
ue their home dominance. WT is 130-21 (.861) at
Schaeffer Park since the facility opened prior to the
2011 season. 2014 marked the third time in the last
four years (‘11, ‘13, ‘14) that the Lady Buffs hosted
NCAA Postseason action in Canyon.
NFCA DIVISION II TOP-25 POLL (APR. 8)
Valdosta State split Gulf South Conference action
with #11 Alabama Huntsville this past weekend as
the Blazers stayed atop of the poll with 10 first place
votes for a total of 388 points followed by West
Texas A&M with four place votes for a total of 385
points, Missouri St. Louis grabbed the final two first
place nods for a total of 376 points to sit in third.
Dixie State remained at number four (351) followed
by Cal State Monterey Bay (323), Georgia College
(314), St. Mary’s (307), North Georgia (290), North
Alabama (261) and Indianapolis (253) to round out
the top ten. The South Central Region was repre-
sented by WT (2nd), St. Mary’s (7th), Angelo State
(14th) and Metro State (25th) and Cameron (RV).
#CLAUSSTRONG
The Lady Buffs have chosen to play for a something
bigger than themselves this season as they join
the #ClausStrong campaign for former Lady Buff
Amanda Claus and her family. Amanda’s father
Rick was in a single car accident in Dallas in late
December and the father of two has been in a
coma ever since. For more info, visit the family’s
journal at CaringBridge.org. We Are Buff Nation, We
Are WT Softball, and We Are #ClausStrong.
LIVE COVERAGE
The Eastern New Mexico Athletic Communications
Department will provide live stats for all four games
of this weekend’s Lone Star Conference series

CHASING HISTORY
West Texas A&M senior outfielder Renee Erwin is look-
ing to add her name to the Lone Star Conference re-
cord books again as the Anna, Texas native enters this
weekend’s series in Portales with 55 career homeruns
to sit just one behind former Lady Buff All-American
and current volunteer assistant coach Kim LeComte’s
career mark of 56 dingers for the LSC record. Erwin has
been on a tear lately, hitting seven homeruns in the
last 10 games including four in five at-bats in a pair of
wins in Lawton, Oklahoma on April 28th against then
#25 Cameron as WT took over first place in the LSC.

GameDay
at ENMU
1/3 (DH)
Portales, NM
Having been hired to re-start West Texas A&M
softball following a 24-year absence, Kevin Blaskowski
has wasted little time in building the Lady Buffs into a
perennial national title contender. In nine years at the helm, he has registered
a 320-219 mark, recorded four NCAA tournament berths and an overall record
of 672-496 over 22 seasons. While at WT, Blaskowski has claimed a Lone Star
Conference title, LSC Tournament Title, two South Central Regional Cham-
pionships, a South Central Super Regional Title and the 2014 NCAA Division II
National Championship.
2014 saw the Lady Buffs capture the program’s first ever NCAA Division II
National Championship as WT topped perennial power Valdosta State in a
Memorial Day thriller at the Moyers Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia. The Lady
Buffs finished their dream season with an overall record of 60-7, becoming just
the fourth team in NCAA history to win a title while also reaching the 60-win
mark (Cal State Northridge-1985; Augustana-1991; North Dakota State-2000).
Blaskowski and his staff were rewarded for their efforts on the diamond, being
named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II National
Coaching Staff of the Year while Coach B also picked up Lone Star Confer-
ence Coach of the Year accolades.
Coach B reached another career milestone in 2013 as he claimed his
600th career victory against St. Edward’s in Austin, Texas on April 14th. The 2012
season saw the Lady Buffs make another appearance in the LSC Tournament
before falling to rival Angelo State in the semifinal round, WT just missed out
on the NCAA Postseason, finishing the season with an overall record of 35-18.
Blaskowski reached a personal milestone on February 19, 2012 as he coached
his 1,000th career game in a win over New Mexico Highlands in Canyon.
The 2011 season saw the Lady Buffs make a historic run to their first ever
South Central Regional Championship as they finished the season with an
overall record of 50-18. WT claimed the program’s first ever Lone Star Confer-
ence Tournament Championship in 2011. Blaskowski also reached a personal
milestone in 2011, claiming his 500th career victory on March 5 in a 15-2 win
over Eastern New Mexico at Lady Buff Yard in Canyon, the win was also special
for WT’s centerfielder Kim LeComte who hit for the first cycle in program history.
The Lady Buffs finished the 2010 season with a 45-18 overall record and ad-
vanced to the NCAA South Central Region Finals. Blaskowski was honored as
the Lone Star Conference South Division Coach of the Year.
Blaskowski was hired in December of 2004 to bring back the softball
program to WTAMU’s campus after a 24 year absence. Blaskowski came to
WT from Lone Star Conference rival Eastern New Mexico University where he
served as the head coach for one year. Prior to ENMU, Blaskowski coached
at Southern Arkansas University for five years, where he started the SAU softball
program and led them to the postseason in each of his five years. In 2003, SAU
was the Co-Champion of the West Division in the Gulf South Conference with a
31-19 overall record and a 19-4 conference mark.
While at Southern Arkansas, Blaskowski’s teams also excelled in the class-
room as they finished in the top ten in the NFCA Team GPA Rankings his last
four years. SAU was ranked in the Top 10 of the team grade point average
rankings in 1999-00 (5th), 2000-01 (7th), 2001-02 (8th), and 2002-03 (7th). While
at SAU, Blaskowski served as a member of the NCAA Division II South Region
rating committee in addition to being named Gulf South Conference Co-
Coach of the Year in 2000.
Blaskowski also has served as the head coach at Phillips University from
1996-1998. He started the program at Phillips which qualified for postseason
play in each of its two seasons
before the school closed in 1998.
He was also the head coach at
Washburn University in Topeka,
Kan., and Kansas Wesleyan Univer-
sity, in Salina, Kan. He was chosen
at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic
Conference (KCAC) Coach of the
Year at Kansas Wesleyan in 1993
and was selected as the NAIA
District 10 Coach of the Year at
Kansas Wesleyan University in 1994.
	 Blaskowski received a Bachelor
of Science in Education with a
major in Physical Education from
Valley City State University in North
Dakota in 1986. He completed a
Master of Science in Education
with an emphasis in Health, Physi-
cal Education and Recreation at
Emporia State University in Kansas
in 1989.
	 In his career, Blaskowski has
also been an instructor at Eastern
New Mexico, Southern Arkansas,
Kansas Wesleyan and West Texas
A&M. He was the Sports Informa-
tion Director at Phillips and Kansas
Wesleyan, and also served as
head coach of women’s basket-
ball at Kansas Wesleyan and Assis-
tant Sports Information Director at
Washburn.
	 Blaskowski and his beautiful
wife, April, are the parents of two
daughters, Kaelyn Rose and Kelsey Rhea.

WT is 130-21 (.861) at Schaeffer Park since the facility opened prior to the 2011 season. 2014 marked the third time in the last four years (‘11, ‘13, ‘14) that the Lady Buffs hosted NCAA Postseason action in Canyon. NFCA DIVISION II TOP-25 POLL (APR. 8) Valdosta State split Gulf South Conference action with #11 Alabama Huntsville this past weekend as the Blazers stayed atop of the poll with 10 first place votes for a total of 388 points followed by West Texas A&M with four place votes for a total of 385 points, Missouri St. Louis grabbed the final two first place nods for a total of 376 points to sit in third. Dixie State remained at number four (351) followed by Cal State Monterey Bay (323), Georgia College (314), St. Mary’s (307), North Georgia (290), North Alabama (261) and Indianapolis (253) to round out the top ten. The South Central Region was repre- sented by WT (2nd), St. Mary’s (7th), Angelo State (14th) and Metro State (25th) and Cameron (RV). #CLAUSSTRONG The Lady Buffs have chosen to play for a something bigger than themselves this season as they join the #ClausStrong campaign for former Lady Buff Amanda Claus and her family. Amanda’s father Rick was in a single car accident in Dallas in late December and the father of two has been in a coma ever since. For more info, visit the family’s journal at CaringBridge.org. CHASING HISTORY West Texas A&M senior outfielder Renee Erwin is look- ing to add her name to the Lone Star Conference re- cord books again as the Anna, Texas native enters this weekend’s series in Portales with 55 career homeruns to sit just one behind former Lady Buff All-American and current volunteer assistant coach Kim LeComte’s career mark of 56 dingers for the LSC record. Erwin has been on a tear lately, hitting seven homeruns in the last 10 games including four in five at-bats in a pair of wins in Lawton, Oklahoma on April 28th against then #25 Cameron as WT took over first place in the LSC. 2015 HITTING STREAKS Player Longest Current Brittany Gehle 9 9 Lacey Taylor 9 5 Tyler Wilkinson 8 - Allie Smith 8 3 Renee Erwin 7 2 Ashley Hardin 7 5 Allie Cranfill 6 1 Kaisha Dacosin 6 2 Stacey Ramirez 5 - Hannah Limmer 3 1 Morgan Harrison 2 1 Tori Bayer 1 1 Andrea Sitter 1 1 Krystina Holguin 1 1 Brittany McKissick 1 1 Record 33-6 16-20 Batting Avg. .354 .334 Runs/Gm 8.74 5.50 Hits/Gm 8.97 9.75 Doubles 58 62 Triples 13 8 Home Runs 58 18 Runs Batted In 309 177 Slugging Pct. .614 .460 On-Base Pct. .479 .383 Walks/Gm 5.33 1.97 Fielding Pct. .967 .954 Earned Run Avg. 2.57 5.53 Batting Avg. • 5. Having been hired to re-start West Texas A&M softball following a 24-year absence, Kevin Blaskowski has wasted little time in building the Lady Buffs into a perennial national title contender. In nine years at the helm, he has registered a 320-219 mark, recorded four NCAA tournament berths and an overall record of 672-496 over 22 seasons. While at WT, Blaskowski has claimed a Lone Star Conference title, LSC Tournament Title, two South Central Regional Cham- pionships, a South Central Super Regional Title and the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship. 2014 saw the Lady Buffs capture the program’s first ever NCAA Division II National Championship as WT topped perennial power Valdosta State in a Memorial Day thriller at the Moyers Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia. The Lady Buffs finished their dream season with an overall record of 60-7, becoming just the fourth team in NCAA history to win a title while also reaching the 60-win mark (Cal State Northridge-1985; Augustana-1991; North Dakota State-2000). Blaskowski and his staff were rewarded for their efforts on the diamond, being named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II National Coaching Staff of the Year while Coach B also picked up Lone Star Confer- ence Coach of the Year accolades. Coach B reached another career milestone in 2013 as he claimed his 600th career victory against St. Edward’s in Austin, Texas on April 14th. The 2012 season saw the Lady Buffs make another appearance in the LSC Tournament before falling to rival Angelo State in the semifinal round, WT just missed out on the NCAA Postseason, finishing the season with an overall record of 35-18. Blaskowski reached a personal milestone on February 19, 2012 as he coached his 1,000th career game in a win over New Mexico Highlands in Canyon. The 2011 season saw the Lady Buffs make a historic run to their first ever South Central Regional Championship as they finished the season with an overall record of 50-18. WT claimed the program’s first ever Lone Star Confer- ence Tournament Championship in 2011. Blaskowski also reached a personal milestone in 2011, claiming his 500th career victory on March 5 in a 15-2 win over Eastern New Mexico at Lady Buff Yard in Canyon, the win was also special for WT’s centerfielder Kim LeComte who hit for the first cycle in program history. The Lady Buffs finished the 2010 season with a 45-18 overall record and ad- vanced to the NCAA South Central Region Finals. Blaskowski was honored as the Lone Star Conference South Division Coach of the Year. Blaskowski was hired in December of 2004 to bring back the softball program to WTAMU’s campus after a 24 year absence. Blaskowski came to WT from Lone Star Conference rival Eastern New Mexico University where he served as the head coach for one year. Prior to ENMU, Blaskowski coached at Southern Arkansas University for five years, where he started the SAU softball program and led them to the postseason in each of his five years. In 2003, SAU was the Co-Champion of the West Division in the Gulf South Conference with a 31-19 overall record and a 19-4 conference mark. While at Southern Arkansas, Blaskowski’s teams also excelled in the class- room as they finished in the top ten in the NFCA Team GPA Rankings his last four years.
