EBTC Smart Cities Knowledge & Innovation Program - EU Flyer
1. The European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) has commissioned its EU
Smart Cities Knowledge & Innovation Program to support the ambitious and
enterprising projects of the Government in India at the Municipal, State and Central
level for (Re) Development of smart infrastructure for cities, ports as Greenfield and
Brownfield projects. European Governments and companies have best practices,
policy frameworks and technology solutions that have been practiced and
implemented in European cities and have a great potential for India’s cities.
The proposed / announced projects in India for Smart Infrastructure include:
1. 100 Smart Cities to be (Re) developed in 5 years: The first cities have
been announced and budgets are defined to initiate the first projects.
2. Port Cities: The aim is to develop land with ports and cities with a coastal line
as smart port cities. The Ministry of Port and Shipping has announced the project
and initiated the planning.
3. New Greenfield cities by the Central and State Governments: Navi
Mumbai South smart city in Maharashtra by CIDCO where project work has
already started. The DMIC project, GIFT city and other projects along the
proposed Industrial Corridor.
4. Projects by Private Real Estate Companies and Consortia as part of
the expansion of the Metros: Lavasa City by HCC near Pune, Maharashtra
amongst other private developments.
This industry driven Program will integrate European solutions into one platform,
which will be positioned and presented to the Indian stakeholders at the conceptual
and operational stages of the Indian Smart Cities projects. The program will create a
Body of Knowledge (BOK) with resources from technologies and innovative solutions
from European companies, frame works, best practices, case studies and standards
from European Governments and Municipalities that will be shared with all relevant
Indian Smart Cities stakeholders.
2. Membership Benefits
Program Partner Organisation (Industry Associations, Business Member
Organisations)
• 2 x Exclusive conferences/round tables specially organised with key
stakeholders in the Indian Smart Cities sphere to discuss technology solutions
and implementation.
• Direct insights on the requirements of the stakeholders in India and first-hand
information on project opportunities and tenders.
• Feature of case studies (technology solutions), benchmarks, and frameworks
in the guidelines document / body of knowledge (BOK) created for and shared
with all the relevant stakeholders in India.
• Access to other solution providers for joint solutions as part of larger
complementary consortia pre bidding and during the bidding process.
• Introduction to carefully selected Indian private sector counterparts to team
up to get projects executed.
• Access of all member companies to above mentioned benefits for a fixed rate.
Program Partner Organisation Membership fee: Annual fee of 15.000
Euros for the organisation with up to 20 companies on the platform, additional
charges in case of more companies apply.
Program Member (Companies in Clusters)
• Direct insights on the requirements of the stakeholders in India and first-hand
information on project opportunities and tenders.
• Feature of case studies (technology solutions), benchmarks, and frameworks
in the guidelines document / body of knowledge (BOK) created for and shared
with all the relevant stakeholders in India.
• Access to other solution providers for joint solutions as part of larger
complementary consortia pre bidding and during the bidding process.
• Introduction to carefully selected Indian private sector counterparts to team
up to get projects executed.
• Access of all member companies to above mentioned benefits for a fixed rate.
Program Membership fee: Annual fee of 1.200 Euros per annum per company
to be part of the Program in a sector specific Smart Cities cluster. Minimum of 3
companies and maximum of 12 companies per cluster.
3. Knowledge Partner (Governments, Municipalities, Think Tanks, Research
Institutions)
• 2 x Exclusive conferences/round tables specially organised with key
stakeholders in the Indian Smart Cities sphere to discuss technology solutions
and implementation.
• Direct insights into the requirements and planned projects in India.
• Direct CONNECT with various Governments at Municipal, State and Central
level in India to build relationships with these key stakeholders.
• Visibility through webinars, capacity building workshops, focused group
discussions, seminars with key Indian public and private sector stakeholders.
• Feature of case studies, benchmarks, frameworks in the guidelines document /
body of knowledge (BOK) created for and shared with all the relevant
stakeholders in India.
• Coordinated study tours and inbound delegations from India.
Membership fee: One-time fee of 15.000 Euros for a period of 3 years.

conferences and roundtables.
• Individual company market exploration trip and B2Bs to understand the on the
ground realities and meet potential partners, customers, distributors, etc.
• IPR support services for European companies by the EBTC IPR Helpdesk.
• Technology Adaptation and Localisation services in partnership with R&D
institutes to adapt the technology to Indian conditions and requirements.
• Partner identification and other market entry services for EU companies.
• Project development services and consortia building services.
