                   VILLAGE AT LEESBURG ADDS EXCITING
                      NEW COMMUNITY ART GALLERY
                         Loudoun Arts Council Opens Arts in the Village

LEESBURG, Va. (September 19, 2012) – Village at Leesburg is excited to announce the
opening of Arts in the Village, a community art gallery operated by the Loudoun Arts Council.
This venue offers local artists a place for displaying and selling their pieces of work to the
Loudoun area.

The Arts in the Village Gallery will be a 2,100-square-foot cooperative space dedicated to
showcasing more than 20 of Loudoun’s most innovative artists’ work. The gallery is located at
1601 Village Market Blvd. Suite 116, near Potomac River Running and across from King Pinz.

With a stylish atmosphere, the artwork will range from paintings, graphic art, pottery, wood,
photography and more, all of which will be available for purchase. While shopping at Village at
Leesburg, you might notice artists located throughout the property painting, sketching or
performing. All artists are local and host a wide variety of styles and price ranges.

The Grand Opening Celebration begins Friday, September 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. and features
complimentary appetizers and champagne, provided by King Pinz, raffle prizes and an artist
Meet & Greet.

The celebration continues Saturday, September 22 from noon to 9 p.m. Leesburg Mayor Kristen
C. Umstattd will welcome and open the gallery with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon. There
will be door and raffle prizes awarded throughout the day as guests enjoy live music and artist
demonstrations all over the property. Complimentary food & beverages will also be available
on Saturday.

The weekend concludes on Sunday with the gallery open from noon to 6 p.m. and live artist
demonstrations.

“Leesburg is a hub for the arts and this new and exciting opportunity at the Village at Leesburg is
a fresh way to connect the dots – literally and figuratively from one side of Town to the other,”
said Marantha Edwards, Director of Economic Development for the Town of Leesburg. “It
provides an opportunity for the artists to get more exposure, The makes a positive economic
impact and improves sense of place that is created in an area that takes advantage of the myriad
of artists.”
Village at Leesburg is a vertically-integrated, four-story village which encompasses 57 acres and
features approximately 520,000 square feet of retail space, combined with 150,000 square feet of
office product and 335 luxury multi-family residences. A Cypress Equities company* is
developing the commercial components of the project and Kettler is developing the residential
component. The Carlyle Group is the lead equity partner in the development and KLNB Retail is
handling the leasing of the retail sections.

The center includes a roster of 44 retailers now open including Wegmans Food Markets, LA
Fitness, Altar’d State, AT&T, Charming Charlie, Coldwater Creek, Crystal Brite Cleaners,
Eggspectation, Faang Sushi & Thai Restaurant, Finnegan’s Sports Bar & Grill, Firebirds Wood
Fired Grill, Flame Kabob, Frilly Frocks, Hamilton’s Sofa & Leather Gallery, Hour Eyes, Katie’s
Nails & Spa, King Pinz, Leisure Fitness, Massage Envy, Neibauer Dental Care, Noodles &
Company, Plow & Hearth, Potomac River Running, Salon Montage, Sleepy’s, Sprint, Swim U,
The Dandelion Patch, Tiny Toes Dance Academy, Travinia Italian Kitchen, Verizon Wireless,
