AUDIENCE RESEARCH
      By Victoria Bell
QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH

 Quantitative research is when you use numerical data
maths, numbers etc. You ask a specific question and then use
numerical data from peoples answers. For example “ask 100 people
do the like games?”

 The researcher will hopefully be able use there answer to
generalise to a larger population.
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

 Qualitative research is when you use quality, type or other things to
get information for advertisements.

 It uses things like in depth interviews to gain information.
SOCIO - ECONOMIC

 It looks at peoples jobs, income etc. to gather information on how
much they earn and the social group they belong to. For example I
belong to student.
PSYCHOGRAPHICS

 This looks into peoples likes and dislikes, their lifestyle etc. They
use this to created a detailed costumer profile. This lets them know
peoples options and interests. This will help them sell products.
MAINSTREAM

 What is considered normal. The larger percentage of the
population. The main stream group.
ALTERNATIVE

 The weird and the wonderful, the strange and unusual, the unique
and individual. Every thing that is different from mainstream
example: Tim Burton.
NICHE

 This is the leftover percentage of the audience.
