MANAGEMENT
Eight executive level positions held involving significant program, financial and human resource
management to deliver outcomes under strict deadlines. Managed various sized teams from 4 – 60 staff, and
provided direct oversight of budgets up to $15 million. Core responsibilities have included: establishing and
maintaining relationships with representatives across local, national and international organisations; liaising
with and reporting to senior executives, academics,administrative staff and external stakeholders on project
and program development and implementation; carrying out strategic planning leading to the formulation
and development of major policies and programs; managing information through the development,
manipulation and upkeep of large databases; and providing high-level support to Committees and Working
Groups.
FINANCIAL
Prepared quarterly and annual budget reports and reviewed financial forecasts for senior management.
Managed budgets of up to $15 million and have had financial delegation ranging from $25,000 to $90,000.
Recipient of three major awards and 15 research grants and in-principle support from Australian Packaging
Covenant for $2.5M state-wide litter and illegal dumping prevention campaign including $330,000 to
support the South West Region Roadside Litter Prevention Project.
CONCEPTUAL & ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Analysed, formulated and implemented policies and programs that addressed internal goals and met external
targets for the Queensland and Australian Government, Australian Research Council (ARC) and the
Australian National University (ANU). Developed and implemented three major research programs to
answer ecological questions of an applied nature in marine resource management; lead the development and
implementation of four projects to address key litter and illegal dumping issues; set up information system
frameworks and managed large databases through the storage, analysis and manipulation of information.
COMMUNICATION
Represented my place of employment on internal/external committees and meetings and presented at
conferences and workshops. Prepared key reports,frameworks, policies, review summaries, guidelines,
government submissions and briefs, technical reports, course manuals and discussion papers. Presented my
research findings at national and international conferences and delivered guest lectures to students at ANU
and JCU. Produced 9 scientific publications; 5 technical reports, 4 international publications, and 2 theses.
COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS
Established network of colleagues from research, local, state and federal government, industry and non-government
organisations. Instrumental in establishing collective partnerships with a range of stakeholders to deliver program
outcomes.

Managed various sized teams from 4 – 60 staff, and provided direct oversight of budgets up to $15 million. Core responsibilities have included: establishing and maintaining relationships with representatives across local, national and international organisations; liaising with and reporting to senior executives, academics,administrative staff and external stakeholders on project and program development and implementation; carrying out strategic planning leading to the formulation and development of major policies and programs; managing information through the development, manipulation and upkeep of large databases; and providing high-level support to Committees and Working Groups. FINANCIAL Prepared quarterly and annual budget reports and reviewed financial forecasts for senior management. Managed budgets of up to $15 million and have had financial delegation ranging from $25,000 to $90,000. Recipient of three major awards and 15 research grants and in-principle support from Australian Packaging Covenant for $2.5M state-wide litter and illegal dumping prevention campaign including $330,000 to support the South West Region Roadside Litter Prevention Project. CONCEPTUAL & ANALYTICAL SKILLS Analysed, formulated and implemented policies and programs that addressed internal goals and met external targets for the Queensland and Australian Government, Australian Research Council (ARC) and the Australian National University (ANU). Developed and implemented three major research programs to answer ecological questions of an applied nature in marine resource management; lead the development and implementation of four projects to address key litter and illegal dumping issues; set up information system frameworks and managed large databases through the storage, analysis and manipulation of information. COMMUNICATION Represented my place of employment on internal/external committees and meetings and presented at conferences and workshops. Prepared key reports,frameworks, policies, review summaries, guidelines, government submissions and briefs, technical reports, course manuals and discussion papers. Presented my research findings at national and international conferences and delivered guest lectures to students at ANU and JCU. Produced 9 scientific publications; 5 technical reports, 4 international publications, and 2 theses. COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS Established network of colleagues from research, local, state and federal government, industry and non-government organisations.
