About Rosehip & Bloom
Rosehip & Bloom has been formed by Tambuzi to create a
distribution hub in Middle East for their unique range of
scented David Austin and garden roses.
With direct shipments coming from Kenya the Roses will not
come through Holland as was the case before which will
increase the shelve life of the roses and you can be confident
that they will be perfect for your big event.
Shipments will arrive twice weekly and will be available for
weekly standing orders, events and weddings.
TAMBUZI Background
WHO WE ARE
In the mid-1990s, Tim and Maggie Hobbs - a young and dynamic couple
with Kenyan roots, came across a beautiful, derelict farm on the foot hills
of Mount Kenya only miles from the equator. The 64 hectare farm,
originally a dairy and beef farm, was up for sale and with its perfect
conditions for growing roses the Hobbs bought and developed it into what
it is today: a specialist supplier of traditional garden scented roses- the
only one in Kenya.
Today, Tambuzi Ltd. has 25 hectares under horticultural production, with
the rest dedicated to sustainable forestry, bee keeping, vegetables and
livestock. It is also home to Tim, Maggie and their three young children.
Tambuzi is a company driven not just for profit but with the intention of
improving the world around it. The company’s strapline ‘stop and smell
the roses’ sends a simple message – to slow down, notice and enjoy
everything around you. The company strongly believes in the concept of
shared values, and it considers the welfare of its employees and the
neighbouring communities to be part of its strength. Tambuzi uses the
best practice methods possible to ensure that there are no negative
impacts on the integrity of the environment. We are proud to be one of
only five ‘gold’ certified members of the Kenya Flower Council.
BEATRICE

DARCEY
The colour of our intriguing new rose Darcey is transformed
as the bloom ages. Bright crimson buds gradually open out to
form many-petalled, raspberry red rosettes. An attractive
cluster of stamens is revealed in the heart of the flower. As
the blooms age, the colour deepens, developing rich purple
tones. Darcey has a very light fruity fragrance and our longest
vase life to date. This variety dries beautifully, turning a rich
cassis colour. Darcey is the first David Austin rose that can be
stocked by florists for a few days and still have a vase life of 9
to 10 days in the home

arranged petals nestling in folds within the heart of
the bloom. The soft, peachy shades of Juliet combine
well with other colours, creating a feeling of warmth
and romance. One of the best-known and most
popular English cut roses. There is a very lightTea
Rose fragrance. We recommend Juliet for weddings
and special events, for arrangements for the home and
for gift bouquets. Choose Juliet for the large, elegant

KEIRA
Keira breaks all the normal rules for a cut flower.
The colour of each rose is very subtly different, being
a beautiful blend of blush pink and cream, often
with warm peachy highlights. Some blooms have an
irregular flush of pink that highlights the edge of the
outer petals, creating a very soft picotee effect.

petals, perfectly arranged to form beautiful, almost flat
