Vasilisa Matantseva is a 12-year old figure skater from New Westminster, BC who trains at Champs International in Burnaby. In August 2015, she placed first at the Vancouver Summerskate pre-novice championship. Her short term goal is to land a triple toe-double toe jump combination to qualify for the National Competition, and her long term goal is to compete at the World level. She started skating in 2007 in Russia and has had success at several regional and provincial competitions in pre-novice, juvenile, and pre-juvenile categories since 2013.
