2. If you remember last term, we started our first Graphics brief, focussing on the
‘Typography’.
Remember, good ‘typography’ is an essential part of what we do as Graphic
Designers, and is key to our role as ‘communicators.
You have already complete 4 great pieces of Typography coursework, which are now
safely in your Portfolio’s, and so this next stage of your journey gives you the
opportunity to be really creative, and get stuck into your job as a designer.
3. ‘calligram’
• noun
• plural noun: calligrams
• a word or piece of text in which the design and layout of the letters creates
a visual image related to the meaning of the words themselves.
Basically, this means representing a word ‘visually’ as
an image or picture.

going on half of an A2 presentation board. You will need
to go into the ‘Page Set Up’ area and change it from ‘on
screen settings’ to A3.
When uyou have finished ‘SAVE’ and PRINT your work out. Remember
when you print, you will need to ‘tell the printer that you want to print
onto A3, so you wil need to change the PRINT SETTINGS TO A3!
