Recently approved by the Union Cabinet, the salient features of the National
Biodiversity Action Plan are as follows:
1) To strengthen & integrate insitu & exsitu conservation.
2) Sustainable use of natural resources, while ensuring inter & intra government equity.
3) Regular assessment of climate change & desertification.
4) Integration of biodiversity concerns in economic and social development.
5) Establishment of national capacity for biodiversity conservation and optimum use of
new technologies.
6) Development of biodiversity database.
7) Checking pollution caused by various factors.
8) International Cooperation.
