summer, however swimming pools are the leading location
for drowning deaths in children aged between 0-4
(Royal Life Saving National Drowning Report 2017).
It is important that we supervise and teach our kids how to
swim and stay safe around water.
Here are some tips to keeping safe around pools.

Don’t multitask when supervising
children in the water - it only takes
seconds to drown. Focus on your
child, get in the pool and talk and
play with them.

Never leave your child alone
around water or allow another child
to watch them.

Dress ready to enter the water.
Have everything ready such as
towels and dry clothes.
