EXT. ON THE PATH UP TO THE WOODS - NIGHT
The woods are dark, there is an ominous feeling in the wood.
JESSICA filled with anxiety and nerves takes a shortcut
through the woods as she is late home. As she takes her first
steps into the shortcut she cant help but notice the ominous
feeling in the woods, we can see the twisted sharp trees
reaching down to the floor. the light gets darker and darker
the further she looks into the shortcut.
Jessica is a shy and anxious person in her twenties, she
easily gets scared, she has long brown hair she isn't very
popular and likes to keep to herself. She is wearing casual
clothing, she is wearing a hoodie and joggers. She likes to
talk to herself to calm herself down in stressful situations.
She is distressed and constantly looking behind her shoulder.
Jessica is on the phone with her friend LILY while walking
home.
JESSICA
I'm late
I've got to take the creepy shortcut.
LILY
Alright, stay on the call so I know
your safe.
Jessica takes her first steps into the shortcut filled with
Anxiety.
CUT TO:
EXT THE WOODS - NIGHT
The woods are dark and mysterious, The tall trees towering
over the forest block out the moonlight trying to reach the
void of the woods ,The ground is covered in thick mud and
layers of dead leaves and sticks. The cold air sends shivers
through Jessica. Every step taken by Jessica another twig
snaps sending fear all through her.

as Jessica first enters the woods, she notices the unnatural
Height of the trees, it feels as if they are getting closer
and closer. The darkness of the forest felt as if it was
closing in on Jessica making her feel trapped the unsettling
atmosphere makes Jessica feel scared and uncomfortable.
Jessica talks to herself to try distracting herself of the
fear the woods. we can see her hands shaking and the fear on
her face.
JESSICA
Everything will be okay just got to
keep calm
LILY
Hey its going to be alright i'm right
here for you
JESSICA
Thank you
Jessica continues down the path.
CUT TO:
EXT THE ENTERANCE OF THE SHORTCUT - NIGHT
A mysterious figure enter the woods, he is wearing all black
giving off a malicious and scary feeling, the thump of his
boots breaks the silence of the forest the camera pans up his
body and cuts off as it reaches his face the man doesn't seem
to speak much, he likes to keep to himself. his clothing is
ripped and worn. the only thing that can be heard is his
breath pricing through the wind in the woods leaving an
unsettling feeling.
The man is old, we don't see his face but his presence gives
of a threatening feel, the only thing that can be heard from
him is his heavy breathing and the loud thumps of his boots
hitting against the forest floor. His boots are black, heavy
duty boots. His clothing is all black he blends in with the
forest as if he is a shadow. He enters the forest as if he is
looking for something.

EXT DEEP FORREST - NIGHT
The silence of the forest becomes more and more unsettling
the trees that could be once seen have been molded together
it's as if she is in an endless black void. Jessica feels
scared. Every now and again she can here the sound of animals
scuttering across the floor breaking the silence of the
forest. We can see the fear on Jessica's face as she is
moving further and further into the forest. Each footstep is
muffled by the wet floor. Jessica is disorientated and filled
with fear.
JESSICA
It feels like I'm going in circles
LILY
Do you know which part of the woods
you are in now?
JESSICA
not at all, where do I go from here?
LILY
I'm not sure I'm really sorry
There is a wide shot of the forest and only Jessica can be
seen, animals are running from bush to bush almost colliding
into Jessica. She can see them darting left to right from the
corner of her eye, she checks behind her to make sure no one
is following her, the sound of animals makes it feel as if
someone is behind her.
JESSICA
What was that? is someone behind me?
LILY
What? I didn't hear anything
JESSICA
must just be my mind playing tricks on
me
LILY
it's okay try to keep focused and stay
alert
The thoughts in Jessica's head are keep telling her that she
isn't alone, Jessica keeps darting her head back to make sure
that she isn't being followed. She is starting to stress out

as she isn't even half way through the forest and she is
starting to feel more and more trapped as she continues
through the dark forest. As she walks it feels as if the
trees are surrounding her blocking her from continuing making
her feel more and more suffocated.
Jessica turns on her flashlight to have a bit more
visibility. the foggy glow of the phone torch illuminates the
the path in front of her. Filled with a slight bit of relief
Jessica calms her breathing and continues to venture through
the forest.
Suddenly a twig snaps behind her, Jessica's body spins faster
than it ever has before around, her heart is racing, however
the only thing that could be seen what the pitch black void
of the forest.
JESSICA
What was that!?
must of been one of those animals, I'm
only imagining things no need to
stress out
LILY
Everything okay?
JESSICA
The animals are causing me to freak.
She takes a large deep breath and turns back around, debating
weather to leave the woods or continue, Jessica takes a large
step forward and continues her journey through the woods,
however as she walks she cant help but think what is out
there waiting to get her. she starts to take her steps more
carefully and tries to control her breathing.
CUT TO:
EXT INSIDE THE SHORTCUT - NIGHT
We have a long shot of the man walking further and further
down into the void of the forest ,we can tell that he is
clearly agitated and is on the hunt for someone, the loud
thumps of his boots destroyed any plants surrounding him,
each step breaking the silence of the forest as if a loud

beast is roaming around in the dark. As he walks further and
further into the woods he starts to fade away and blends into
the surroundings as if he has disappeared.
The man mumbles to himself, his voice is too low to be able
to be heard. As the man disappears into the shadows all that
can be seen was the boot like footstep engraved into the mud.
As he disappears, the man in a gravelly voice says.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
Where have you gone then?
As he continues down into the void of the forest his
footsteps from his boots get quieter and quieter as he then
eventually fades into the night.
CUT TO:
EXT FOREST - NIGHT
As Jessica continues to walk through the forest, she cannot
seem to get the thought out of her head that someone is
following her, she is constantly looking over her shoulder
reassuring herself that she is okay and that no one is out to
hurt her.
Suddenly she hears the loud echoes of boots thudding against
the thick mud, all the thoughts racing through Jessica's head
are quickly coming true. Fear shoots all the way through
Jessica and her only instinct is to run. her heart is racing
faster than before.
JESSICA
What the hell is that!?
LILY
What!?
JESSICA
Someone is running towards me!
LILY
Quickly get away!!

As Jessica is running, she sees the outline of a man drifting
in and out of the shadows, the loud thumps of the boots
getting louder and louder.
Terrified Jessica starts to run faster and faster trying to
outrun this demonic human. The man gets closer and closer as
he is about to reach out to grab her Jessica finds a path and
sprints towards it faster than she ever has ran. She outruns
the man and crashes on the floor.
EXT DEEPER INTO THE FORREST -NIGHT
Drenched in sweat and tears, Jessica looks up to the sky and
sees that she has made it to a clearing of the woods where
the moonglow breaks through the trees creating and
illuminating glow on the surface of the dark forest. In the
distance she can hear the deep yells of the man shouting.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
You wont be able to hide forever, just
wait I'll find you soon enough
Out of breath, Jessica tries to justify how all of this is in
her head and that non of it is real, however she knows that
its real she is finding a way to keep herself from completely
stressing out. Jessica is out of breath trying her best to
catch air, tears rolling down her face.
JESSICA
this must all just be in my head
right?
none of this is actually happening, I
need to find a way out but I have no
clue where I am.
LILY
Where are you!? you need to hide you
cant let that person catch you
Jessica full of terror and fear, carefully treads through the
forest, The mans voice embedded into her mind as a way to
tell her to be cautious and to not get caught . she covers
her mouth to prevent her from panicking. Every step she takes
is now quieter than the last, she is trying to do her best to
not get caught.

CUT TO :
EXT DEEP FORREST - NIGHT
The mysterious man, we can clearly see that he is even more
aggravated than before as Jessica got away. His breathing
became heavier and heavier and the thumps from his boots
became even louder.
He starts to mumble again in his deep gravely voice
MYSTERIOUS MAN
Damn, I should've got her there
He punches the tree out of anger permanently damaging the
strong bark of the tree.
The man pulls himself together and remembers why he is here
and why he is doing this the face of determination is painted
back on to the man. He slapped his face with full force to
snap him back to reality. He continues his hunt.
He started walking into the shadows once again. the loud
thumps of his boots shaking the ground after every step. His
breathing became more heavy and the man became more
determined mumbling under his breath.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
I'm going to get her, no matter what!
CUT TO:
EXT DEEP FORREST - NIGHT
Jessica carefully walking through the woods constantly
shooting her head to the left and right ,making sure that she
isn't being followed. The thoughts in Jessica's head are
spiraling making her question her every movement and feel
extremally paranoid. the illuminating torch on her phone
guiding to find the way out, coastally gets broken by the
small animals and the large twisted branches in in the way of
Jessica.
Jessica is terrified and is shaking from fear.

JESSICA
I have no clue where I am, and I don't
know what to do
I feel like I've been this way before
but I have no clue its so dark
LILY
Try taking deep breaths, im right here
for you everything will be alright
She continues to walk down the muddy path, every step she
take is another unsettling thought in her mind of what could
happen to her if she doesn't make it out of here. The shadows
of animals passing through Jessica's only source of light
sending her into a frenzy fear.
Suddenly we hear the loud sound of the man shouting in his
ground shaking voice.
MYSTERIOUS MAN
I've found you!
Jessica sees in the corner of her eye the long distorted
structure of the figure that has been chasing her this whole
time, the thumps of his boots got louder and quicker, the
speed of the man made it seem as if he was one of the
shadows.
Without hesitation Jessica's starts sprinting, the mud of
from the ground tries to keep her still but fails. Suddenly
the Man starts bolting between the trees getting faster and
faster and approaching quicker and quicker.
We can see that Jessica is terrified through her expressions
she wants to get away but cannot outrun him.
The mysterious man reaches out towards her and grabs her.
Jessica screams out.
JESSICA
"What do you want from me?!"
