saying that this LC had to organize a
Harbour week with some great even-

our Port. Tuesday a speeddate for all
of the interested was held with some
of the finest companies in the sector.
To finish the week, all of us were in-
vited to take a look behind the scenes
at Total with an exclusive Inhouse

Our President
“As AIESEC UA’s strategic leader
I learnt so much. Not only about
management, team work and
other cultures, but also about
myself”Nicolas Van Spilbeeck
LCP AIESEC UA
“It has been an amazing year! I had never thought that I would be able to do so many different things
and meet so many different people! My year as LCP of AIESEC UA has been a whirlwind and I love it!
I decided to join AIESEC after going on a university exchange in my second Bachelor year in the Uni-
ted States. It was an eye-opening year where I got in touch with an AIESEC’er from Brazil. I immedi-
ately knew that I had to join the organisation back in Antwerp. In my third Bachelor year I joined as a
Team Member in External Relations and at the end of that year I was so thrilled by the power and op-
portunities of this organisation that I decided to apply for VP Project Management. After a successful
year I felt that my AIESEC story was not finished yet and I applied for LCP. One of the best decisions
in my life!
During the past year the LC grew significantly. We were able to capitalize on some of the foundations
that we built the year before. This year we lined up some new partners for our Incoming Exchan-
ge Programme. Besides our loyal partners such as Alcatel Lucent and Statoil, we were able to work
together with companies of the likes of VGD Luxembourg, ECS and Elster. Our External Relations
department laid the foundation for more successes. With 62 company meetings the AIESEC message
was spread out over many companies in the Antwerp region, building leads to new opportunities.
This year was also the year in which a new department came to life: communications! We improved
processes, got a brand new website and increased our awareness on campus.
We scaled up the level of membership with a successful recruitment. We were able to set the right
expectations and therefore increase commitment of the teams. The Middle Management gained more
responsibility and our Team and Project leaders grabbed that chance with both hands. They became
the engine of the Local Committee. As a result AIESEC UA became the most prominent delegation at
every AIESEC conference!
Moreover a great pipeline for the future was formed. With a lovely new Executive Board and Middle
Management Team, combined with many other motivated Team Members, the future looks bright for
AIESEC UA! I’m therefore happy to leave AIESEC UA in the good hands of my successor Roberto and
the next teams! Good luck!”

2012 Middle Manager OGX at AIESEC UA
2013 Member of the National Exchange Quality Board at AIESEC UA
2013 Vice President OGX at AIESEC
My accomplishments this year
“My biggest achievement was the improvement of the review board in the outgoing exchange track.
A review board is a selection interview in which we assess the skills and motivation of potential ex-
change participants. To ensure they are suitable candidates we want their expectations to match the
offer we have on the AIESEC internship database. Once passed this first appointment the candidates
are notified and get an invitation for a second assessment. Here the candidates solve a little case in
groups of 4 people. Group behavior, team spirit, logical thinking and leadership can be evaluated in
order to have a good idea of the person who wants to be an AIESEC ambassador abroad. This process
might be more time consuming but students feel much more confident going abroad once passed the
second assessment.”
Skills I acquired
“First of all, the greatest skill I learned was how to organize a team of 17. Working together with so
many people was something I had never done before and was a real challenge. AIESEC gave me the
possibility to learn, act and deliver. I have acquired leadership skills throughout the year, which
implied getting feedback from my team, delegating more and relying them. They were the power
behind our operations and I could have never done the same without them. Secondly I learned how
to manage my time better. Before my AIESEC year started I had a lot of time, but once I got elected
for the EB, I knew this would no longer be the case. My agenda changed from grey and boring to
colorful and vibrant but above all very full. Finally, something I learned at conferences was how to
share your opinion on a certain topic in front of a group. In the past I was often not bold enough to
stand up and share my opinion. At AIESEC conferences however, it was all about sharing. AIESEC
conferences changed me tremendously.”
Most memorable experience
“Being part of the EB team I could always count on the support of all the EB members. We worked
as a team throughout the year and I am really grateful that I could be a part of that. The greatest
experience for me this year was the introduction session during the first semester. For me, being an
EB member, it was amazing to recruit so many talented and pro-active students for my team. That
great start made me so proud to be EB ’13-’14 but also made me realize that we have a lot of growth
potential towards the future. I am convinced that every member of our EB did his/her utmost to
achieve this goal of development and growth.” Charlotte Fivez
Middle Manager Management & Matching OGX
“When middle manager positions opened, I wasn’t sure which position to choose. Eventu-
ally I chose for management and matching, because this is truly what OGX is about. I’ve
learned a lot this year, but the one thing I liked the most is that I learned how to interview
people. People can often surprise us, and when interviewing them you can often see who
someone really is. I also learned to work with a team and guide them. AIESEC to me is about
personal growth, inspiring others to become leaders, beingthere for one another and especi-
ally making a lot of friends. I’m already looking forward to next year. I hope to have a team
as awesome as the one I have now and inspire everyone to go abroad!
Louiza Mansah
Middle Manager Marketing OGX
“I chose to apply for the ‘ middle manager marketing and recruitment OGX’ position because I
wanted a function with responsibilities. Helping students who have the same goals and motivation
suited me. I improved my personal skills, ranging from public speaking to project management. One
of the best memories this year were the conferences. At a conference you learn more about AIESEC
with a new perspective. You can network, share ideas, get inspired and have a lot of fun!”
“I had a year filled with new friendships,
amazing projects and an unforgettable team
that stood beside me and supported me in so
many ways.”

10. Incoming exchangeCharlotte Van Lent
Vice President ICX
My accomplishments this year
“To me incoming exchange is about experiences that have an impact. Expe-
riences for our trainees who come live here for one year and experiences for
the companies that work with us. The impact can be found in big things as
well as in the little ones; an experience abroad, the clash of cultures, things
that people can learn from each other.
I wanted to involve AIESEC and the trainees of AIESEC in these experiences
so that they can share them with others. Furthermore, we have been able to
convince two of our ‘old’ partners to start working together with AIESEC
again and hire new trainees.”
The skills I acquired
“As a VP ICX I have learned to maintain contacts with companies, meet
deadlines and acquired some basic knowledge in Human Resources; finding
the right candidates for several applicants. Also, through contact with our
trainees I had the chance to discover cultural differences, get to know the
Belgian culture and personality a bit better and off course make a lot of very
good friends.”
Most memorable experience
“When different members come together at LC meetings, workshops, even-
ts, parties or conferences you can really see the growth that AIESEC has
made in the last couple of years and you can feel the impact AIESEC had on
young people. It gives me a lot of satisfaction and pleasure that I could be a
part of this as a VP.”
“Incredible, exceptional

11. External RelationsSuet Ying Su
Vice President ER
“My year as a VP has been the
most eventful and instructive
year in my study career.”
My accomplishments as a VP
“To pass my knowledge and experience of Exter-
nal Relations to all my teamleaders, in order that
they can train the members. I wanted to make
sure that my entire team had the information
needed to sell the AIESEC product. My main goal
was to support my team in their learning process
in order to develop themselves.”
Skills I acquired
‘Managing and keeping track of a team of 30
members was a huge challenge. In order to make
my team succeed, I needed to make sure that ope-
rations were organized very well. By doing so, I
improved my decision-making and problem-sol-
ving skills. Every decision I made had to align
with my strategy. I had to bear in mind that the-
se new decisions had to create new opportunities
that will generate the outcomes that are most de-
sired for the organization.”
Most memorable experience
“My best experience this year was not only ha-
ving the chance to lead the department within
AIESEC that interests me the most. The best
experience is to work in a great team of people
with all different personalities in order to make
the organization run optimally.”

My accomplishments this year
The challenge of starting up a new department was a great experi-
ence. Starting out on my own and then being joined by a team of
wonderful new AIESECers made this an unforgettable year. The
biggest accomplishment would be seeing those new members rise
to the challenge of managing a team, leading a project, managing
communications channels, designing promotional materials and
much more. They started out as regular students when they joined,
but by the time they graduate they will be much more than ordinary
students.
Skills I acquired
More so than my previous term as VP External Relations, this year
gave me the opportunity to work in a much more diverse team.
Many team members did not come from the Business Faculty and
this means new challenges as a VP; from different ways of thinking
to very different schedules.
Most memorable experience
Driving a motivated team of people forward to start up a track was
a brilliant experience. If I have to pick one moment it would be the
efforts of all Communications and other members towards making
this Annual Report and organising the Stakeholders event. Whether
it be when working together or when enjoying the sun in the Univer-
sity courtyard or having a great teambuilding, being together with
my fellow AIESECers lights up my day.
“AIESEC allows you to be an intrapreneur:
building anything from an event to an
entire department from scratch”
Celine Missoorten
Middle Manager COMM
“I joined AIESEC to develop my skills
in strategic communication during my
master year. However I intended to be
a member - to watch and learn, when
I found out that the track was being
founded from the bottom, I thought I
might as well turn 3 years of Commu-
nication studies into reality. It was an
amazing opportunity. As a complete
layman I learned so much from getting
these responsibilities and working to-
gether with someone like Yanni.
I regret not having applied sooner.”

13. Project Management
What we did this year
Streamlining the organisation of events
Increasing the attendance at our events
Improving the quality of our events
Accomplishments this year
“Bringing our events to the next level by
streamlining their organization, impro-
ving their quality and having more at-
tendees, like for example at our Job Fair,
were we saw more than 100 attendees
than last year!”
Skills I acquired
“In general, I made enormous leaps in
my time and stress management skills,
but I also learned a lot from organizing a
wide range of events, everything between
a Job Fair for more than 350 people to
a luxurious Gala Night for our members
and alumni.”
Most memorable experience
“Difficult to choose, but participating at
OC meetings and watching our mem-
bers develop their skills is one of the
best things you can experience as an
EB-member.”

14. Talent ManagementAnthony Ackermans
Vice President TM
“Talents are common, everyone has them
– but rare is the courage to follow our
talents where they lead. AIESEC paved the
way.”
My accomplishments this year
“The position of VP TM has been quite a different story
than what I experienced as a VP F. However, together with
my beloved team we managed to launch well advanced
fundamentals of member and alumni tracking tools along
with a useful and sophisticated member database. Talent
Management has become more professional. Quality and
performance can now be calculated and opportunities for
improvement become apparent almost immediately.”
Skills I acquired
“Since TM focusses more on the bright talents of the or-
ganization, the development of each individual member
is more visible as well as the impact of strategic decisions
on the internal culture of AIESEC UA. Besides, I believe
I gained better time management skills as well as a more
profound knowledge of competencies, their importan-
ce for an organization and strategic thinking on how to
better allocate and stimulate specific competencies whi-
le simultaneously aligning member and organizational
goals.”
Most memorable experience
“From all the unforgettable moments I experienced
throughout the year, I would say I truly enjoyed the mo-
ment AIESEC UA took the LC picture. As an EB member,
these moments represent the accumulation of all the indi-
vidual impact we have on the lives of each AIESEC’er and
all that was immortalized on picture.”

“I believe this position provided me the
most opportunities to really get to know
many of the people in the organization
and learn more from their experiences.
The conferences helped me to under-
stand the organizational structure of the
world’s largest student-run organization.
I have had a wonderful experience with
AIESEC and am proud of what I have

my amazing TM team.”
Carolien Vermeiren

“I felt ready for this new challenge and it
turned out to be a very enriching journey.
One of the greatest things I experienced
this year was the amazing AIESEC at-
mosphere. I am thankful for all the op-
portunities I got and for all the things
people taught me. I feel stronger now
than I’ve felt before. My AIESEC experi-
ence has been very inspiring so far.”
Jérémy Coquilhat
Alumni Manager TM
“As for the alumni tracking, I learned a
lot about the AIESEC UA history and
got the chance to lead a team that would
track the alumni. I think they did a great
job and I hope that our work will help fu-
ture AIESEC members understand how
AIESEC UA became as it is today.”

15. Finance
“The most awesome,
life-changing, educational
experience all pushed into
one year.”
Roberto Benabid
Vice President F
My accomplishments this year
“My biggest achievement this year was transforming the isolated finance track in an
integrated AIESEC track. The finance members became more AIESECy and understood
the contribution of the finance track to the overall AIESEC mission. Moreover the par-
ticipation of finance members in national conferences was never so high.
Secondly, the Budget of AIESEC was never so efficient as this year. We organize pro-
jects, spend money on our members, etc. much more cost-effective than previous years.
We always investigate the return on investment in both monetary as non-monetary
terms before spending.
Thirdly, the excel we use for our bookkeeping is updated and further developed. This
year the finance track added a “review center” in the excel which will automatically draw
graphs, calculate key performance indicators, etc. by this “review center” the finance
track is able to monitor the financial situation of AIESEC UA at any given moment.”
Most memorable experience
“The moment that I will always remember as an EB-member is standing in front of po-
tential AIESEC’ers during our recruitment event. The feeling you get when you see so
many people interested in our organization, our mission, and our vision. AIESEC UA
is a people-driven organization and it makes me happy to see so many AIESEC’ers in
Antwerp with such a high level of commitment.”

“The greatest opportunities for this were definitely
the conferences. I went to Functional Meeting in Fe-
bruary and consequently to BeFLDS in March where
I got to fully enjoy the AIESEC experience! What I
found the most fascinating about this MM position
is that you can learn a lot about the operational and
financial structure of AIESEC and the impact that
all tracks have. It is really satisfying to see your team
members grow, both in terms of skills and persona-
lity.”

KPI’s Realized
Budgeting Quality KPI 42,29%
This KPI measures the difference between
budgeted numbers and realized numbers.
Cost Flexibility KPI 27,23%
This KPI measures how the costs are adapted
if the revenue forecast changes.
Quality of Data Entry 100%
This KPI measures the quality of the data
entered in the bookkeeping excel file.
The finance track has developed a couple of KPI’s in order to decide at the
end of our term if the finance track was successful or not. These KPI’s don’t
say that much right now since it is the first year that the finance track has
integrated these KPI’s. Therefore these figures will be more useful for next
year in order to decide if we are doing better or worse than the previous years.
The indicators were measured the 6th of April.

“I enjoyed being a part of the Audit
team in AIESEC Belgium. This team,
consisting of 11 members, thoroug-
hly went through the books of four
LC’s by using the checklist which
was created together with PwC. In
the following years the audit can
also be executed in the other LC’s.
This will increase standardization
of all LC’s and can greatly improve
overall performance!”

16. Stories of trainees
DAVID MARQUIS ORSETTI
From Venezuela
Graduated as a Telecomunications Engineer in 2012
Working for Alcatel-Lucent as a Junior Networks Engineer
for Northern Europe.
How I found out about AIESEC
“I first learned about AIESEC in my home university UCAB, it seemed
like an interesting opportunity so I decided to look into it.”
AIESEC and their traineeships
“Having been an AIESEC trainee in two different countries as well as
a member of AIESEC in Venezuela I have to say that within AIESEC
you really have the opportunities to develop yourself as a leader. From
being able to assume leadership roles starting from small projects to
nationwide coordination of events and partnerships, to being able to
travel the world and work with people from other cultures. I would say
that there is no doubt that being an AIESECer you quickly learn about
what you are capable of achieving, and will also develop skills that will
allow you to dream big.”
SkillsI acquired during my traineeship
“During my time at Alcatel-Lucent I acquired the confidence to work
in a professional environment with a very diverse group of colleagues
who come from many different countries, the technical skills that al-
low me to understand the complex networks that allow us to commu-
nicate every day, the organizational skills required to manage diffe-
rent technical projects, and the flexibility to move from one project to
another while being able to adapt to new complicated scenarios.”
Most memorable experience in Belgium
“My most memorable experience was the first night I arrived in Belgi-
um from Venezuela. I was invited to an LC meeting and afterwards we
went for a few drinks. I had only been in the country for two hours and
was already meeting new people and having lots of fun!”
“Being an AIESEC
trainee has been one
of the most valuable
experiences I’ve had
in my life”
LAURENCE DUMONT
From France
Graduated as a Master in Marketing
Working for Alcatel-Lucent as the
AIESEC Global Coordinator
How I found out about AIESEC
“Through a friend who had seen a flyer about in-
ternational internships on the floor. She went to
the information session and thought it was great
so pushed me to apply to become a team member!”
AIESEC traineeships
“I think AIESEC’s internship programmes are a
truly great way of combining your thirst for inter-
national discoveries as well as professional skills
development. It’s an “all-included” deal!”
About my position as Global Coordinator in Alca-
tel-Lucent
“My role is to recruit AIESEC interns for Alca-
tel-Lucent worldwide. Right now, we have interns
all around the world who have come through AIE-
SEC and who are living the GIP experience. In or-
der to find the right talents, I also have to promote
AIESEC within Alcatel-Lucent as well as to explain
what Alcatel-Lucent does to AIESEC members and
exchange participants. So in my daily job, I get to
work on HR, Marketing, Sales, Finance... it’s a su-
per complete job!”
What Alcatel-Lucent is looking for in trainees
“We are looking for young people who are wil-
ling to think out of the box, to be entrepreneurial
and creative. In a company driven by innovati-
on, we need talents who can translate their skills
into concrete projects while thinking of the next
big thing that will help us connect better around
the world.”
Why Alcatel-Lucent likes to work with trainees
from AIESEC according to me
“The talents that AIESEC offers Alcatel-Lucent
bring a real dynamic to the company: they are
ambitious, eager to learn and develop and stron-
gly self-driven. The international aspect is also a
key factor to bring in fresh ideas: new perspec-
tives are always welcome within the company!”
Skills I acquired during my traineeship
“There are so many I don’t even know where to
start! Flexibility is definitely key in a company
that’s changing so much every day. Learning how
to adapt to any situation as well as being soluti-
ons-oriented no matter what, is something that
is needed for this role and which I have the chan-
ce of developing more and more every day. Also,
as an ambassador for the partnership within
Alcatel-Lucent and AIESEC, knowing how to
present the partnership according to whom the
stakeholder is, is a valuable asset.”
Most memorable experience in Belgium
“One of the best memories I have was the
“dunch”. AIESEC organized a dinner/lunch whe-
re everyone (member, trainee, team leader…)
had to bring in a dish from their country of ori-
gin or a country they had visited. It was a great
way of getting to know other cultures and star-
ting friendly discussions. I then discussed this
concept with the HR Director of Alcatel-Lucent
in Belgium and he thought it was a great idea to
promote cultural diversity within the company.
So what was a great moment in my personal trai-
nee experience turned out to be also a great pro-
ject for Alcatel-Lucent!”
“A great learning
experience that
allowed me to be much
more self-aware and
better prepared for the
future”

17. Stories of trainees
NICK STERCKX
From Belgium
Graduated as a Master in International Business
Went on a GCDP in the Philippines
How I learned about AIESEC
“I heard from AIESEC at job events and presentations”
AIESEC traineeprogrammes
“I think both trainee-programmes (GIP and GCDP) are very
interesting and good if you want to develop yourself in a pro-
fessional and personal way.”
My work in the Phillipines
“In the Philippines I was working for the ngo GKONOMICS.
I did a product design internship and my main assignment
was to think about new products, which poor communities
could make to sustain in their own life support. I came up
with the concept of a USB stick with a wooden framework
that companies can buy as a corporate give-away. The board
of directors was very enthusiastic and they wanted me to cal-
culate the cost and market the product. The day I left the
first prototype was made and this product can be found in
the product catalog right now.”
Skills I acquired during my internship
“I’ve learned a lot of different skills, which I will carry with
me for the rest of my life. But the most important ones are:
learning how to work with different cultures, independency
and improving my leadership abilities.”
Most memorable experience in the Phillipines
“I had a lot of different fantastic experiences during my in-
ternship: from travelling with my fellow foreign colleagues
to some of the craziest parties. But the fact that will be in my
heart forever is the power of Filipino, and in general all Sou-
th-East Asian people. I was there when typhoon Haiyan hit
the Philippines very hard. I was working with poor commu-
nities over there who already don’t have anything and they
keep on smiling and want to share with everybody even after
everything is destroyed. This experience taught me that we
as Western people can learn a lot from the social mentality
and mindset from Filipino people. They are so strong and I
have a lot of respect for them. When you fall, rise again but
stronger!”
“I met some of the
most wonderful
people in the
world and I could
say they are
friends for life!” “
Stories of alumni
LIESBETH OLLIEUZ
ALUMNA, AIESEC 2002 - 2005
My AIESEC Experience
2002 Joined the new AIESEC UA LC as a mem
ber of the TN team. AIESEC UA was being
founded from scratch. Our key ambition
was to convince companies to offer
traineeships.
2003 Elected as the VP ER.
2004 Worked on different projects as OCP.
2005 Elected as LCP of AIESEC UA.
Learning within AIESEC
“I must admit that AIESEC gave me exactly the
challenges and opportunities I was looking for at
the time. I learned quite some practical things in
AIESEC, such as the facilitation of workshops, the
organisation of events, how to delegate - and how
that can go wrong, how to manage people conflicts,
usage of the SWOT and OGSM models, how to con-
vince and sell, how to negotiate and much more.
Also personal development was part of the deal; I
learned about my strengths and weaknesses thanks
to good and honest feedback I received, how to
handle tough moments when I or someone else was
not elected for a position. But the most important
thing I believe AIESEC brought to me, is what is in
its mission; bringing people from all over the wor-
ld together, sharing common values and objectives.
Even though I work in a company with a lot of nati-
onalities and a very open culture, the AIESEC expe-
rience is something unique that you can hardly find
anywhere else, I believe.”
Most memorable moment within AIESEC
“In my role of VP ER, I was responsible to keep
and find new sponsors. As I explained earlier, AIE-
SEC Ufsia and AIESEC Ruca were merged only two
years before that, so we had still and inheritance of
AIESEC
Ruca sponsors. A computer shop in Edegem, Accel,
was one of those sponsors, from which I had heard
the contract would be terminated because of the
distance (they were targeting students from Ruca to
sell computers to) and because they wanted to fo-
cus more on B2B in the future. Nevertheless, I took
my chances and called the manager of the shop, and
with the skills I acquired after calling hundreds of
companies in the TN-team the year before, he ap-
preciated my efforts so much, that he invited me
over. Yes, one step closer! On the day of the visit, I
went to the company with the ultimate ambition to
get their old computers, as we needed to replace our
dinosaur computers, still dating
from the 90s (only floppy-disk compatible, can you
imagine. As usual, I did my presentation of AIESEC,
introduced all the nice and useful work we do, how
we allow people to grow and exchange students im-
prove inter-cultural understanding etc. We got two
brand new computers, and a router on top! Unfor-
tunately, we couldn’t give a lot back to Accel, so I
believe two years after the memorable deal, the con-
tract was stopped. That was a pity, but understan-
dable. Still, I hope this story can inspire people to
always try.”
Influence of AIESEC on professional career
“After my graduation from university, I started in
the operations division of Euroclear Bank, and that
was not exactly giving me the exciting and enriching
experience I got when I was in AIESEC. It feels a bit
unfair, that you have to start from scratch again, but
that’s unfortunately what it is, and that’s one of the
biggest challenges for any AIESEC alumnus - adap-
tation to the “normal” world. After one year of work
in operations, I was offered the unique opportuni-
ty to join the Lean transformation program in Eu-
roclear as an internal consultant, which was again
giving me new challenges and growing opportuni-
ties as I had in AIESEC before. Organising dyna-
mic and interactive workshops, do problem solving
in teams, giving training and presentations to big
audiences during regular “bootcamps”. Yes, I was
very happy, and I’m 100% sure it was thanks to my
elaborated section on AIESEC in my CV, that I got
that job. Only recently, I took a new career step in
Euroclear; I’m now risk manager for part of operati-
ons, which is a great learning opportunity and again
a unique chance that was given to me, as I’m still ra-
ther “young” to do this job. I’m convinced AIESEC
opened a lot of doors to me; maybe some doors I’m
not even aware of. I can only strongly recommend
people to join AIESEC if they want to make a diffe-
rence; it’s a great starting point.”
“AIESEC was for me
without any doubt
the most enriching
experience in my
life, which resulted
in a successful pro-
fessional career, ge-
nuine friendships
and more tolerance
and understanding
towards the challen-
ges we face in our
global world of to-
day.”

18. STIJN CORNELIS
AIESEC ALUMNUS 2008 – 2010
My AIESEC Experience
2008 Joined AIESEC as a member of ER.
2009 Elected as VP Finance
2010 Elected as LCP of AIESEC UA
Learning within AIESEC
“Within AIESEC, the number of learning oppor-
tunities are really countless. I already told many
times the same sentence to new AIESECers: “The
more time you invest in AIESEC, the more you
personally will get out of it”, and it summari-
zes the potential so easily. And that is of cour-
se not only true within AIESEC, but also within
your personal and professional life. When I have
to choose one thing, what I learned from being
an AIESECer, is understanding the importance
and power of building up a reliable personal and
professional network. Having people around on
which you can count when you are facing difficult
situations or when you needs advice in order to
take important decisions, is so important. But as I
said, it will always be a two way relationship, and
therefore you can never forget to also invest suf-
ficient amount of time in sharing your experien-
ces and offering your help towards your network.
Building up transparent relationships of mutual
trust can be very time consuming, but in the end
the reward will be high as well!”
Most memorable moment within AIESEC
“Throughout my entire AIESEC Experience, I had
the opportunity to team up with amazing people,
and experienced an amazing time. Two highlights
that mean a lot for me, are the moments when we
were awarded as Best Performing Local Commit-
tee Of AIESEC in Belgium, both in 2010 and 2011.
Not for the moments itself, but receiving this
recognition really rewarded all of our members,
alumni, university, partners, and actually all of
our stakeholder who contributed to the success
of AIESEC UA. Being one piece of this puzzle
gives you a great and fulfilling feeling.”
Influence of AIESEC in professional career
“Today, I am a business consultant at IBM; wor-
king mostly of the time in international project
teams at client site. Within AIESEC, you have
the opportunity to learn a lot, but also to experi-
ment and try out new things such as how to lead
a team, how to draw up a planning, to motivate
people, giving and receiving feedback, etc. . As
a junior professional, these experiences, that
you are carrying with you in your “backpack”,
are priceless and will definitely facilitate you to
achieve your professional goals. It gives you a
solid foundation where you can always rely on,
even when you are facing challenging objectives
while thrown in an unfamiliar environment.”
Achievement as AIESEC UA Alumnus
“As an AIESEC UA alumnus, I tried to assist
our current organization leaders, by sharing my
personal experiences within AIESEC and my
insights as a junior professional. It gives you a
real fulfilling moment when you still can join an
LC Meeting in the evening, and you are able to
meet so many enthusiastic members eager to
take up new challenges and bring AIESEC UA
once more to an higher level. It has been a true
pleasure being a strategic - and financial Board
of Advisors member and chairing the Election
General Assemblies.”
“AIESEC UA kept on growing
steadily the past years, and I am
sure that the same trend will be fol-
lowed the upcoming years. I will
always be proud to be an AIESEC
UA alumnus; and don’t forget: “It
is never impossible to reach the im-
possible, when dividing the impos-
sible into reachable goals.”

Learning within AIESEC
“Never in my young life have I felt more pr-
oud, more enthusiastic and more alive after
anything I have done. As a final decision
maker and leader of an LC as AIESEC UA, I
learned so so SO much. Not only did AIESEC
thought me more on leadership and manage-
ment skills. As well did I get the chance to
meet wonderful new people, to get to know
myself better and to learn how to work in a
team on a day-to-day basis.”
Most memorable moment within AIESEC
“My LCP year 2012-2013.
That year, we put so much effort, energy, love
and dedication in creating an amazing AIE-
SEC UA and a basis for many years to come.
We had big and smaller problems to overco-
me, but it was all definitely worth it.
For several years already, we are the strongest
LC in the network of AIESEC in Belgium and
because we wanted to keep it that way we fo-
cused on undertaking sustainable actions that
will make it possible for the LC to continue
building upon what you has been achieved.
And it can be said that my year as an LCP is
made unforgettable thanks to my strong team
of eight wonderful people.”
Achievement as AIESEC UA Alumnus
“Organising the AIESEC UA Stakeholders
event in 2012. This was when I realised that
it does not often happen that people in their
young life get this unique chance that AIESEC
gives you. As an AIESECer you learn such va-
luable lessons on leadership that no lecture,
no course and no workshop could have given
you as a ‘normal’ student at University of Ant-
werp.”
Influence of AIESEC in professional career
“I still work in an international, fast paced
and ambitious environment as Global Ma-
nagement Trainee at AB InBev. And I still love
making people enthusiastic for things that
I’m fond of. Only now my passion for beer is
more visible than my (still eternal) passion
for AIESEC. But I will always grab any chance
to defend, sell and protect AIESEC UA.”
“I won’t say that AIESEC can
change the world in one year,
but I do think it can impact a
lot of people in one year. And in
a truly international network
with almost 90,000 AIESECers
in the world, imagine what we
can do if we reach this amount
of people again every year after
year after year...”
