construction of community gardens and renewable energy systems.

testing for newly developed diesel efficiency system and preparation of EPA clean-tech approval;

presentation to 2013 State Legislature, with successful adoption of key recommendations

funded Center of Excellence) –Research and development of 15-module open-source curriculum
on renewable energy, efficiency and resource conservation options for agriculture

2011: Researcher, Fungi Perfecti - Designed and conducted controlled laboratory experiments
(Filtration Method SM9222) to test the efficacy of mycelium’s ability to filter E.coli from water
through the process of mycofiltration
2010: Brazil Program Director, Global Leadership Adventures – Coordinated educational
program in Fortaleza, Brazil, for international youth group; Managed staff/students and organized
volunteer projects, Portuguese classes and cultural events
2003 - 2009: Director, Project VITAL (Volunteers In Teaching Adult Literacy) – Sauk Valley
Community College (IL); Managed staff and six grant cycles with the College and the Illinois
Secretary of State Literacy Office; Trained approx. 300 volunteer literacy tutors (public and DOC
inmates) and coordinated their instruction with over 400 adult learners - tripling program
participation; created Access database for all records; Extensive public outreach & fundraising
2001 - 2003: Environmental Education Director, LOMC Outdoor Education Center (IL) –
Managed staff and led environmental and team-building programs (day & residential) for approx.
1,500 students per year; Developed individualized curriculums to fulfill state learning standards
for school districts in Chicago, Rockford and the Quad Cities
2000 - 2001: Prairie Restoration Steward of buffer zones to Nachusa Grasslands (IL), The Nature
Conservancy; conducted prescribed fires, seed collection/planting, invasive species removal and
initiated community education/outreach with local farmers/neighbors
