This document is Tiffnee Julian's prototyping and design portfolio containing summaries of various class projects including a baby monitor, clock, cribbage board, cube, store front, landscape architectural model, house architectural model, Olaf figure, skateboard, train toy box, and recycled pallet shelves. The projects utilized various materials, machines, and design software like AutoCAD, Corel Draw, and CNC milling to prototype, model, cut, assemble, paint and finish the final products.

3. PROTOTYPING AND DESIGN CLASS PROJECTS
Baby Monitor
• Three dimensional model of a baby monitor
• Model board was the material to create a visual representation of the original baby monitor.
Machines used
1. CNC Milling Machine
2. table saw
3. bridge port
4. Jointer
5. Router
The baby monitor was primed and painted with automotive primer and paint using a HVLP spray gun.
Front of the baby monitor was painted gray with a textured finish and the back was painted blue with a
smooth finish.
4. CLOCK
▪ Material used was a piece of
birch
▪ Cut out on band saw
▪ Laser image drawn on Corel
Draw
▪ Image applied using epilog laser
5. Materials used:
▪ Maple
Machines used:
▪ CNC machine
▪ Router
▪ Belt sander
▪ Epilog Laser
Machined using CNC program provided by
instructor.
Created image in corel draw and sent it to the
Epilog laser.
Applied a lacquer finish.
6. CUBE
Machined using the CNC.
Material used was model board
Designed in surf cam
Each side had the same design.
Ran program the same on all the
sides.
7. STORE
FRONT
Programs used:
• Auto Cad
• Corel Draw
• Epilog Laser
Drawn to size and scale
Sent to epilog laser, cut out
using proper speeds and colors
Painted and textured to create
the finished product
8. ARCHITECTURAL
CLASS
LANDSCAPE
This model was to let us get the feel for letting our
imagination run loose and get creative.
started by making a topographic model
milling it out on the milling machine
On my model I designed a few things
1. Few different looking trees
2. Grass for the main layout
3. Used pebbles and stones for the pathways
4. Broken pieces of board and designed a bridge
5. Bigger stones along side the walkway
The outside cover was made with acrylic
The four boards on the outside were cut on the table
saw, measured out to fit around the box in a fit manner,
then cut at 45 degrees to glue together with wood glue.
9. ARCHITECTURAL
MODEL
This picture is a copy of a page from the
blue prints of the house we have built in
Architectural and Design class.
Programs used:
Autocad
Coral Draw
Epilog laser
This model is going to be built in the 1/28
scale.
13. Skateboard
Used different techniques of
painting.
-Sanded, dripped paint,
splattered paint, used vinyl
for the letters and crosses.
Fine detailing around the
letters then did a clear coat
for the finish.
19. TOYBOX
Material used: ¾ inch plywood
Machines used: Router, Table saw, Sander
Designed for my Daughter. Measured and cut
out pieces on table saw, assembled, painted in
paint booth with spray gun, clear coated and
added detail.
