Problems don't solve themselves. The current challenges require a set of solutions akin to a MIRACLE. So together we create one. When we're done, we live in the Heliogenic Civilisation. Join.
2. The challenge-response gap.
Humanity is facing a multitude of exponentially growing challenges
that are putting immense stress on both the planet and societal
structures. Climate change is altering the chemical composition of
the atmosphere, increasing temperatures and causing extreme
weather events. Ocean acidification threatens marine ecosystems
and livelihoods. The rapid depletion of agricultural land
compromises food security and exacerbates other environmental
issues. The proliferation of "forever materials" like plastics and
hazardous chemicals is leading to long-lasting environmental
damage and health risks. Meanwhile, social cohesion is
fragmenting due to rising income inequality, polarization, and
misinformation, exacerbating mental health crises and diminishing
collective action. Additional concerns include loss of biodiversity,
overfishing, rampant deforestation, soil degradation, and
depletion of fresh water resources. Technological threats, such as
cybersecurity vulnerabilities and the ethical implications of artificial
intelligence, add another layer of complexity. These
interconnected challenges require urgent, holistic, and scalable
solutions to ensure a sustainable and harmonious future.

3. The Heliogenic Civilisation / 2023
Money supply (M3) doubles every decade, fueled
by a GDP that doubles every 20 years. GDP,
essentially a measure of atom movement
requiring energy, currently relies on 19TW, 85%
from fossil fuels. Given existing technologies and
finite planetary resources, it's biophysically
unfeasible to align this energy regime with Earth's
limits. Yet, political and economic systems are
geared towards GDP growth, creating an
inescapable multipolar trap.
The trap.
4. The Heliogenic Civilisation / 2023
If we reorient our actions and ambitions to focus
on life itself, we have the opportunity to harness
the Sun's vast energy output of 172,000 terawatts.
This would allow us to move away from our
current centralized, extractive material-based
economy towards a more sustainable, distributed,
and growth-oriented model. In doing so, we can
achieve sovereignty at both the collective and
individual levels, paving the way for the
re-emergence of an economy based on
gift-giving and caregiving. Ultimately, this
transition would establish humanity as responsible
custodians, committed to fostering the well-being
and sustainability of life on our planet.
Life at the center.
5. The Heliogenic Civilisation / 2023
Imagine a world where each newborn is gifted a
curated set of seeds, beneficial microorganisms,
and mycelium, perfectly attuned to their native
region. As the child grows, she learns to harness
this gift not just for sustenance, but as a way to
contribute to her community and continue the
cycle for future generations. Yet, this doesn't
confine her to a life of self-sufficiency. She's free
to discover her own strengths and passions,
contributing her unique gifts to the community. In
return, she receives other goods and services,
fulfilling her varied needs and desires. In this
world, each life starts with a promise of
sustainability, a commitment to community, and
the freedom to pursue individual passion and
purpose.
Love at the center.

A proportional response.
Imagine redirecting the inflation-adjusted $34 billion that funded
the Manhattan Project not to create a weapon of destruction, but
to ignite a heliogenic revolution. This budget would supercharge
current scientific efforts in sun-based technologies across all
material domains essential to civilization. These advancements
would remain part of the commons, universally accessible and
collectively owned. Paired with global education and distribution
frameworks, this investment would do more than just provide clean
energy; it would rewrite the social contract itself. The end result? A
civilization not built on extraction and scarcity, but on abundance,
sustainability, and shared stewardship of Earth's resources.

Wide Focus
Imagine a coalition of laser-focused organizations, all united by a
single, audacious mission: to birth a heliogenic civilization. While the
team behind this visionary movement has already pioneered
numerous projects - some highlighted on the coming slides -, true
success lies in an open invitation.
We must extend our arms to every like-minded organization across
the globe, because the goal is too vast, too urgent, and too critical
to be the endeavor of any one group. The aim? A future built not
just by the few, but by the collective will of those committed to a
solar-powered, sustainable, and universally prosperous world.

IRM
IRM (Initiative Regenerative Markets): A German initiative that
explores the concept of designing a market economy capable of
fostering and safeguarding a new, holistic form of prosperity. The
current political discourse often equivocates wealth and prosperity
solely with financial capital. IRM's working hypothesis aims to
disrupt this limited view by broadening the public discourse on
prosperity to a more holistic perspective that encompasses more
than just money.
The initiative engages in discourse across various platforms
including podcasts, blogs, and salons. It aspires to expand the salon
format across the country, encouraging hosts to share insights via
a digital platform. Although the journey begins in Germany, the
initiative's scope is not limited to any particular region or country.
Activities culminate in the "New Wohlstand Festival" aiming to
influence the political discourse on prosperity. The overarching
ambition is to redefine prosperity in a sustainable and holistic
manner, ensuring it benefits present and future generations.

MOTHERLAND
MOTHERLAND is committed to transforming the agricultural
landscape in Africa through sustainable development. The
organization combines the collective capabilities of local
communities and startups to tackle challenges in the post-harvest
agricultural value chain. By connecting African startups with
farmers, MOTHERLAND has successfully reduced post-harvest
losses and enhanced profitability for farmers, as demonstrated in a
pilot program in Siaya, Kenya.
To ensure long-term impact, MOTHERLAND places a strong
emphasis on local empowerment through education and
skill-building, particularly targeting children and youth. The
organization's primary focus areas include regenerative
agriculture, capacity-recognition, and community empowerment.
Guided by the vision of a flourishing future, MOTHERLAND aims to
unlock the collective potential of communities for scalable,
measurable impact, all while embracing environmental
sustainability and regenerative practices.

GITA
GITA (Global Impact Tech Alliance) is an organization focusing on
accelerating impactful technologies for a scalable positive impact
on life, the planet, and society. It operates in distinct phases:
"meaning-making" involves philosophical exploration of its mission;
"sense-making" assembles global thought leaders for dialogue,
framing a coherent narrative around current challenges and future
prospects; and the "choice-making" phase narrows down focus to
specific technologies and alliances for actionable outcomes.
The recent strategic shift in GITA aims to form alliances among
cities, scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors to bridge
infrastructural gaps in cities using 'doughnut economics' as a
framework. These gaps are addressed through the use of
heliogenic materials, organically grown via processes like
biomineralisation and biofabrication.

MIRACLE
Project MIRACLE aims for a transformation as profound and rapid
as the Manhattan Project's impact on the global political
landscape, but with universally positive outcomes. Central to this
mission is the concept of "Heliogenesis," which fuses bio-inspired
technologies and processes like biomimicry and biofabrication,
focusing on natural materials and solar energy. MIRACLE aims to
shift from an extraction-based material economy to a
growth-based, natural one that is rooted in these heliogenic
principles.
By orchestrating a science that addresses the complete range of
materials necessary for human flourishing, MIRACLE ensures that
these heliogenic innovations stay within the commons, protected
from exploitation by profit-driven mechanisms. Through global
democratization of this transformative technology, MIRACLE
aspires to rewrite the social contract, empowering local and
Indigenous communities and respecting their cultural, ecological,
and socio-economic diversities.
