2. Locations
Windsor:
When we first began planning our music video, we made the joint decision that we would film entirely in Windsor. It’s accessibility,
History, architecture and popularity among tourists were the key reasons behind this. Windsor is known worldwide because of Windsor Castle,
which is one of the official residences of the Royal family. Both of us have lived in Windsor our entire lives, and have noticed that other equally
beautiful areas within the town are overshadowed by Windsor Castle. One of the main objectives of our music video will therefor be to highlight
these places to the audience. We plan on initially drawing the audiences attention towards the Castle with a montage of shots which will
primarily focus on historic locations around Windsor and include a number of long shots of the Castle itself. The montage will then smoothly
transition into shots which focus on modern locations and buildings around Windsor. We plan on creating this graphic conflict for two reasons.
The first is to emphasise to the audience the impact the modern world has on a town dominated by history. The second reason is to pay homage
to our artist, named High Contrast, by creating an on-screen contrast at the very beginning of the video. Fundamentally, the town allows us to
create a video which is entertaining to watch, whilst demonstrating meaning through on-screen juxtapositions.
Other reasons for choosing Windsor:
• The town is hugely popular with tourists, so we will be able to include a large number of
people in the background of each shot.
• We both live in Windsor so it is therefor easily accessible.
• A short walk from Eton; we could also get some shots there.
• Tunnels. For the majority of our shots, our actor will be directly in the centre of the
screen. We plan on doing this to create continuity, which will in turn create an
enjoyable, easy to watch viewing experience. Filming in tunnels will allow us to have a
symmetrical background, so we wont have to spend as much time framing our shots.

3. Red telephone box
Windsor is full of Telephone boxes, and
they prove to be hugely popular with
tourists. We plan on using quick,
experimental shots of a number of these
telephones, then edit them together in
order to create a smooth, aesthetically
pleasing shot transition.
Signs
Due to Windsor’s status as a tourist town,
there are green signs at a number of
popular tourist locations. If we film at a
location that has one of these signs, we
will take a few close-up shots and include it
in the video.
Statue of Queen Victoria
This is another hugely popular tourist
attraction. It stands in the middle of the
road, in the background, leading up to
Windsor castle. We plan on using this in
the montage at the beginning of the video.

The hedges are in commemoration of the
Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
These hedges have now been removed,
however we have included them in the
PowerPoint because we so strongly wanted
to include them in the music video.
4. Shots Taken from Alexandra gardens. We could get a low angle to include Windsor Castle in the background of the shots

9. Clothes
Drum & Bass attracts a wide audience from a number of backgrounds,
classes and ages. It is for this reason that we have decided to choose a
very ‘average’ wardrobe for our actor, in order to appeal to a wide
audience. The genre is hugely popular with teenage boys, so we have
chosen a very simple, stereotypical outfit for our actor.
This will consist of:
• a black hoodie, or jacket
• jeans
• plain t-shirt
• simple trainers.
The simplicity of the outfit will also draw the audiences attention towards
what is happening in the shot, instead of leaving them pondering the
characters wardrobe choice.
From a financial perspective, the plain choice in clothing will also be
advantageous, as if anything is damaged or lost, it will be cheap to replace.
This will maintain continuity if one of the items was damaged, thus
creating a more immersive viewing experience.
10. Actors
Anthony Jamal
Anthony is our first choice actor. Although he has very little acting
experience, his appearance and availability make him the more
appropriate choice.
Due to our genre having a very broad audience, the appearance of
our actor is extremely important. We need someone that appeals
to all audiences, so must therefor choose someone average
looking. We believe that Anthony fits this profile, because his hair
and general appearance are neither lower or higher class.
Anthony also has suitable dress sense, which means we won’t
have to spend money we don’t have on new clothes.
We decided against Jamal for a number of reasons. Although he
has a background in drama, I have filmed with him before and he
is far too erratic and unnatural in front of a video camera. Another
reason is that our audience may be deterred by his appearance.
His beard is also a problem. He grows it for religious reasons and
shaves it every few weeks. If we have to re-shoot, which we
assume we will, his facial hair will damage continuity; effectively
losing us marks. His dress sense is also unsuitable for our video,
and we do not have the budget to buy him a new wardrobe.
