This slideshare is a brief review of the medical alert company, LifeCall. It'll go over their medical alert system, their services, prices, and some important aspects of the company background.
2. About LifeCall
With 40 years experience, LifeCall has not only provided safety and security systems to
families, but also to healthcare facilities. They boast having equipment that is UL-listed
and FCC approved. You get quality service with a professional automation platform
and two fail safe redundant systems. EMT’s are on the end of every call so they can
assist you with emergent care while you wait for your response team. The staff at the
call center all have 100 hours in training that include areas like cardiac and respiratory
emergencies, human anatomy, how to stop blood and deal with trauma.
Offering three different systems means that you get the right equipment for your
needs. All the systems they offer have the latest in medical alert technology.
3. Standard LifeCall Basic System
This is one of the most simple products you can consider for your medical alert needs. This is a
great option for those who spend most of their time at home.
• Quick and easy set up
• When the system is ON, a voice connection is made automatically when an alarm goes off.
• Two way voice function
• Both the transmitter and the monitoring unit are monitored at all times.
• Back up battery gives power for up to 5 days
• Compatible with VoIP, cable phones, and traditional phone systems.
4. Advanced LifeCall with FallAlert
Falls are very common with those age 65 or older. If you are concerned for yourself or a loved
one, this would be a good system to consider. If the medical history includes stroke, heart
attack, dizziness or lightheadedness, or even coordination problems, this is a good piece of
equipment.
• Pendant with sensors that detect normal activity and falls.
• If no movement or tilt from horizontal to vertical is detected after 10 seconds, the alarm is
then transmitted to the base unit.
• Two way communication
5. Cellular LifeCall Medical Alert System
This system is good for those who do not have access to a landline. You get all the same
features from the basic system and an advanced cellular model is available that comes
with fall monitoring.
• Connects with electricity only
• No traditional telephone system required
• 3G technology
• AT&T network
• 600 foot range
• Pendant
• Two way voice communication
6. About the Equipment and Call Center
The base monitoring unit is the heart and soul of your alert system. This is designed to easily
sit on a tabletop. Many people have it in their living rooms or bedrooms. It plugs into your
phone line just like an answering machine would and it is connected wirelessly to the medical
alert pendants. The microphone on the base unit is very sensitive and can pick up your voice
from around 600 feet away. It is advised that you place this in a central part of your home. The
base also has a HELP button that you can activate manually if needed. A CANCEL button will
terminate any alarms.
The base unit also does regular automatic self tests to make sure it is working properly. In the
event it is not, an alert goes out to the call center so they can assist you in troubleshooting.
The medical alert button can be worn as a necklace or on the wrist. It is water resistant and has
a battery life of 2-3 years.
The call center is located within the United States and connects to you a response operator.
When this happens, they will go through the designated plan to assist you. They will contact
family members and/or caregivers, or emergency personnel if needed.
7. Better Business Bureau Rating
• Accredited business since 1/26/2012
• A+ Rating
• No complaints closed in the last 1-3 years
8. Returns and Service Cancellations
Cancelling service is quite easy and user friendly. LifeCall understands the fact that
situations change, and do so quickly at times. Call the company to let them know you are
canceling and ship your equipment back to them. Once they receive all pieces of
equipment your account is canceled and you will not be billed again. You get refunds for
prepaid and unused months of service that are calculated from the date they receive your
equipment.
If you want to return the equipment within the 15 day trial period, and it is returned within
7 days of the end of the trial period, you get a full refund.

12. The Bad
There is nothing here that struck us as a bad thing with LifeCall. We truly have nothing to warn
you about; this company seems quite on the up and up.
13. Summary
We highly recommend you consider LifeCall for your medical alert needs. They have
competitive pricing, payment plans, no cancelation penalties and a few products to choose
from. Customer service was very friendly and professional. With four decades of experience,
you can trust that you are getting a quality product at a good price, with great customer
service. Many other companies do not have trained EMT’s to answer calls so this is a
wonderful benefit in our opinion.
