--Advice from a Recruiter
1) You are one of hundreds of
candidates. Your job is to stand out!!
8) Recruiters are not looking for reasons
to hire you; they?re looking for reasons
not to hire you. Time is precious; It takes
a lot of time, money and resources to
develop someone. Are you worth that? If
so, then show up as though you are.
6) Clean up your social media. It tells
us more about you than anything you
say will. It?s fast and it's free. How
you represent your name is how
you'll represent my name.
3) Don?t just apply online. Pick up the
phone and call.
5) Do your homework on the company.
Research them.
7) Sell yourself. This is your one shot.
4) It?s not just about experience. It?s
about your demonstration of your self
worth, the fire in your eye, the grit
that?s palpable, the eagerness to learn,
the willingness to do whatever it
takes.
2) Your resume should be free from any
grammatical errors. Your attitude should
always be ?I need them more than they
need me.?Prove why we need you.
9) Answer the question to yourself before you ever apply: Why should they hire
me? If you don?t know the answer to that, then don?t apply. Because we won?t
know either. It?s not our job to discover it - it?s your job to tell us.
