Taylor Phillips from Futureproof Bama presented on their organization's mission to educate and innovate to keep Alabama workers employed as technology advances. Studies show 47-66% of jobs could be automated within 10-15 years. Futureproof Bama aims to raise public awareness, establish advisory boards, hold conferences, and push legislation to help workers transition. Their 10-year roadmap includes growing membership, major events, and policy changes. Funding will come from sponsorships, grants, events, donations, and pursuing 501(c)(3) status. Their goal is to mitigate the impacts of automation on workers through preparation.
