1. Environ To Publish Education Guides
Professional skincare brand Environ say it’s never too early or too
late to start caring for your skin and will soon be launching ‘Back to
Basics’ booklets.
The introduction of vitamin A into the formulation of skin care products
heralded a new era in the treatment of sun-damaged skin. Although some
cosmetic houses were using very low doses of vitamin A in their skin care
products in the 1980s, Dr Des Fernandes, a prominent Cape Town plastic
surgeon, was the first in the world to introduce vitamin A in high effective
doses, and consequently founded Environ.
These informative booklets will be great for not only stockists to refer
to but pass on to their clients to help them continue to achieve the brand’s
mantra of “beautiful skin for a lifetime.” The booklets will be in four-parts,
with useful tips, tricks and scientific information.

Priori Educator Visits Australia
Beauty media were welcomed to Spa Universe by Mandy Gray and Mia
Cassin, in May, to meet Priori head of education, Tracy May-Harriott, visiting
from the UK to train Australasian educators and introduce Priori’s latest
innovation, Cellular Recovery Serum with DNA Enzyme Complex.
Having originally trained in 1988, over the years, Tracy has been a therapist,
salon owner and educator for various brands.
Tracy was in Australia on a one-month road show with True Solutions
(the Australasian distributors of Priori) which started in New Zealand and
took her to all of Australasia’s major cities. Based in the UK, she looks after
the education in the thirty-six countries Priori is sold. She spends 80 per cent
of her time travelling and when she is not on the road writes the educational
material, articles for trade magazines, does interviews and helps with the
marketing brochures for head office (based in America).
She runs a “Teach the Teachers” program in each country with the focus
on how to explain the science in an understandable way so it is of interest for
beauty therapists. “I do say Priori is the ‘thinking therapists’’ line”, she says.
At True Solutions head office, she gave guests a presentation about Priori,
beginning by discussing its history and founders, scientists Joseph Lewis and
Joseph Di Nardo, who were the pioneers of AHAs in 1983. She said science
has always been fundamental to the brand’s philosophy and they will only
launch products they see an absolute need for. The first skincare line they
founded was MD Formulations which introduced people to AHAs.
Already the top selling Priori product in Australia, the Cellular Recovery
Serum has been reformulated to double its DNA repair enzymes (including
ultrasomes — microbe based and photosomes — plankton based).
Bodyography 10 Week Certificate Expands
In answer to the huge demand for education in regional areas, Bodyography has
decided to take their 10-week certificate on the road to country Victoria.
Bodyography courses provide students with the essential tools to begin
a career in makeup. The 10-week certificate has been modified to offer a
fast‑tracked experience for students, equipping them with the essential skills in a
shorter amount of time.
The course was first introduced in Wodonga, where it was very successful. “We
are pleased to announce further workshops have now been confirmed in Ballarat
and a second intake in Wodonga,” said Bodyography Director Rob Tamburro.
“We are also taking numbers for a possible 10-week course to be held in the
East Gippsland area, a workshop to be headed in North Queensland as well as a
Tasmanian workshop later in the year.”

“We have been working in DNA beauty for
the last eighteen months and have now made the
formula even better with this new technology.
The DNA repair enzymes are identical to the repair
enzymes we make in our own skin, delivered in a
liposome.” Tracy May summarised this product as
“an insurance policy for skin” which everyone should
incorporate to their skincare routine.
Next, she introduced Power Facials which
combine cosmeceutical results with relaxation
techniques, tailored to client needs. She finished
her presentation with a sneak peak of the brand’s
new medical line to be launched later this year.
