May 12, 2005 saw the beginning of a gaming revolution with the launch of Xbox.
Kinect was officially launched for Xbox 360.
Since then 70 million units of Xbox and 18 million units of Kinect have been sold world wide by January 2012. The best part is 8 million of them were sold in the first 60 days of it’s launch. Making it the fastest selling consumer electronics device in the world. Moreover for your information 750,000 Xbox 360 units were sold in one week during the Thanks Giving and Black Friday sales this year.
Kinect for Xbox 360 is changing the game. Well, it’s changing how you play games. And how you watch TV. And movies. And listen to music. Because with Kinect, there are no controllers. Or remotes. There’s just you. And if you ask us, that’s all you need.
When you’re the controller, all you have to do is speak and Xbox does the rest. Now you can find your favourite sports, TV shows and movies all with the sound of your voice. That’s what makes entertainment more amazing with Kinect for Xbox 360.
When you are the controller, you move around and play and It keeps you fit. And gives you a detailed report on completion of training.

The SDK includes Windows7 compatible PC drivers for Kinect device. It provides Kinect capabilities to developers to build applications with C++, C#, or Visual Basic by using Microsoft Visual Studio.1. Raw sensor streams: Access to low-level streams from the depth sensor, color camera sensor, and four-element microphone array.2. Skeletal tracking: The capability to track the skeleton image of one or two people moving within the Kinect field of view for gesture-driven applications.3. Advanced audio capabilities: Audio processing capabilities include sophisticated acoustic noise suppression and echo cancellation, beam formation to identify the current sound source, and integration with the Windows speech recognition API.These are all open source drivers allowing access to the 3D depth sensors, RGB camera and MIC of the device. This encourages 3rd party participation for developing softwares and encourages students to build applications for the Windows Ecosystem.Ok so explaining each and everything in detail will take me a day or two, so I would stop here by showing you the commercial which was on air for Kinect in 2011.
