2. Pop Smoke
Bashar Barakah Jackson (July 20, 1999 – February 19,
2020), known professionally as Pop Smoke, was an
American rapper, singer, and songwriter.He was
considered by many to be the face of Brooklyn drill.Born
and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn, Pop Smoke began his
musical career in 2018 upon releasing his debut single
titled "Mpr (Panic Part 3 Remix)".He often collaborated
with UK drill artists and producers, who employed more
minimal and aggressive instrumentation than drill artists
from Chicago.
3. On February 19, 2020, Pop Smoke was renting a house owned
by The Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp and her
husband, Edwin Arroyave, in Hollywood Hills, California. At
around 4:30 a.m., four hooded men, including one wearing a ski
mask and carrying a handgun, broke into the house and shot
him twice in the chest.The LAPD had received news of the home
invasion from a call from the East Coast. Police arrived at the
home six minutes later and found Pop Smoke with multiple
gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical
Center, where doctors performed a thoracotomy on the left side
of his chest. A few hours later, he was pronounced dead at the
age of 20 years old
4. 21 Savage
Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph (born 22 October 1992), better
known by his stage name 21 Savage, is a rapper, songwriter, and
record producer. Born in London, he was brought to Atlannta by
his mother at age 7. He became known for the 2015
mixtape The Slaughter Tape before attaining nationwide
attention following an EP with producer Metro
Boomin called Savage Mode(2016), and its popular singles "X"
and "No Heart", as well as guest features on the
2016 Drake single “Sneakin’" and the 2017 Post Malone single
"Rockstar".
5. Tay-K
Taymor Travon McIntyre (born June 16, 2000), known
professionally as Tay-K, is an American rapper, songwriter, and
convicted murderer. He is best known for his hit song "The
Race", which reached number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100
and was certified platinum by the RIAA in January 2018. The
song became popular following his arrest in Elizabeth, New
Jersey, after a nationwide manhunt for murder.
6. In 2019, Tay-K 47 was found guilty of murder and received a 55-
year sentence. According to Pitchfork, in addition to the murder
sentence, Tay-K also received 30 years for aggravated robbery
and was given two additional 13-year sentences for more
aggravated robberies.
7. Future
Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn (born November 20, 1983), better
known by his stage name Future, is an American rapper, singer,
songwriter, and record producer. Born and raised in Atlanta,
Georgia, he first became involved in music as part of the
Dungeon Family collective, where he was nicknamed "the
Future". After amassing a series of mixtapes between 2010 and
2011, Future signed a major record label deal with Epic Records
and Rocko's A1 Recordings, which helped launch Future's own
label imprint, Freebandz. He subsequently released his debut
album, Pluto, in April 2012 to positive reviews. Future's second
album, Honest, was released in April 2014, surpassing his debut
on the album charts.
8. Nle Choppa
Bryson Lashun Potts (born November 1, 2002), better known as
NLE Choppa (formerly YNR Choppa), is an American rapper,
singer, and songwriter. He rose to fame with his January 2019
single "Shotta Flow", which was certified platinum by the RIAA
and peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single
was featured on his debut EP Cottonwood. Potts released his
debut studio album Top Shotta (2020) which peaked at number
10 on the US Billboard 200 and contained the singles "Camelot"
and "Walk Em Down" (featuring Roddy Ricch), which reached
the top 36 of the Billboard Hot 100. His second mixtape From
Dark to Light was released on November 1, 2020, which was his
18th birthday.
