2. Burning Issue
My burning issue is the lack of accountability that so called allies and those of
privilege have for intersectionality and how the lack affects others.
Intersectionality - the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race,
class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating
overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage.
3. Extent of the Issue

Larger forces and structures reinforcing
exclusion
Third
Types of discrimination that impact the
identity
Second

Innermost
Unique Circumstances
4. Trends that Develop
When society lacks the general understanding and care for intersectionality many
dangerous trends can and have begun:
Not being considerate of immunocompromised folks by not masking while covid
and many other infections and diseases are still active.
The lack of historical understanding of black people leading to dehumanization;
police brutality and medical racism.
5. 3 Groups helping with the Issue

marginalized community.
6. Solution?
● Look into intersections that you DONT fall under and study how you benefit
from their oppression AND how to empathize/help with it.
● Realize where your intersections’ lie.
● Listen to the voices of those intersections
● Consume media that shows different intersections to view their perspectives
