New York City
I love seeing stage performance. But When I came to NYC first, I found difficulties in finding these information besides Broadway. There are lots of performances definitely worth to see but people may do not know.
So I wonder if other people have similar problems. So I made the survey and interviewed less than 50 people.
so the result is: around half of these people had hard times reaching enough information about performance and the detail information about the production team and cast.
90% of people think the reviews of the performance are very important when they making decision. But only 10% of people read review often.
so I wonder what’s wrong with the current system? There must something inhibit them to easily get information they want.
So we end up with the diagram. the process for common people searching for performance.
And you can see that these information is separated in quite different places. It's spread all over.
And most of the reviews you get are professional reviews in magazines, they are generally too long, too academic for people to read and quickly extract useful information. And if they are not in a sub community, it’s almost unable for them to hear peer reviews/comments from other people.

So you can check in after you see the performance, like it, rate it, and share your own opinion about the piece. And also like reviews from other people.
When you rate the performance, by somehow you rate the production company, it is a very good ex, shenwei dancearts. When they go out to perform, they always perform as a company not their pieces of work. So we also provide opportunities for these companies to promote themselves.
it may be surprising for people to know that actually people in US spend much more money on performing arts than movie ticket.
