Safe, high quality and environmentally friendly: Deutsche
Windtechnik achieves triple certification from DNV GL
Edinburgh/Bremen, 07 June 2016
Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. has achieved a triple certification after an audit
performed by independent international auditor DNV GL in June. For five days
the DNV GL auditors examined Quality Management, Health and Safety and
Environmental Management at company headquarters in Edinburgh and two of
the windfarm sites that Deutsche Windtechnik manages in Scotland. The
certificates attest that the British subsidiary of Deutsche Windtechnik AG meets
the highest level of quality, health, safety and environmental protection (QHSE)
requirements.
The QHSE department at Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. in Edinburgh has steadily
developed the appropriate management systems since November 2015 in order to
conform to the international standards for Occupational Health and Safety (OSHAS
18001:2007), Quality Management (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management
(ISO 14001:2015).
Commendation for emergency response
"We are one of the first wind industry service companies to fulfil the requirements of
the new versions of the standards (2015) for both quality and environmental
management. This assures market participants in the UK that their assets are safe in
our hands with quality and environmental management at the core of our business
operations", said a pleased Steven King, Senior QHSE Advisor at Deutsche
Windtechnik Ltd. To assure continuous improvement and compliance, DNV GL will
audit Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. every nine months.
In addition to this success for the QHSE department, Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. was
also awarded the RenewableUK Energy Health and Safety Awards runners up prize
last November for Health and Safety performance for an in-house QHSE app that is
used by all field staff.
Steven King added: "We are now in a strong position to integrate our management
system further and meet the new requirements of new ISO 45001, which is scheduled
to be published next year. This will be a natural transition with minimal change to our
current management system due to the 2015 edition of the standards that we have
achieved for both quality and environmental management." By investing in this project,
Deutsche Windtechnik AG is showing its UK customers that it is committed to meeting
the highest standards for Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management for
all of its operations.
