This is where the use case would be appropriate.
Slide starts out depicting the current state, solution siloes that required an extensive investment from our customers to integrate them in the field. Of course this was simply data integration, throwing large volumes of data over the wall between solutions without any coordination or traceability of the business process. (click) Enter the new world, exposing services through a toolkit that is deployed along side the existing jda solutions. (click) this is the mechanism we are using to integrate with IBM Sterling/Commerce and Order Management for the Intelligent Fulfillment Solution, true orchestrated business processes that allow customization in the field. (click) Of course this also provides the technology to support the broader footprint of solutions for Omni-Channel and to incorporate other systems in the enterprise landscape as pate of a set of overarching business processes.
Things to mention:-
Canonical model providing a consistent representation of business objects across the disparate solutions we have today. For example a single definition of a purchase order, simplifying the process of extending a workflow within and external to the jda suite.
Adapter concept
Exposing services in an ESB friendly manor that doesn’t tie our customers to our selection of an ESB provider. In fact we are looking to allow certain business processes to operate without an ESB in place, only requiring a service bus to guarantee receipt of requests.
Providing a side by side deployment of the adapters will allow for a degree of backwards compatibility, we want customers to be able to adopt these capabilities without the need to upgrade. There will be a limit to what we can do here but it is a design goal.
We are looking to expose both business and data services, this is much more than an integration strategy. If you are feeling bold you could talk to the future potential to deploy autonomous services. I use the example of a forecasting service, today the data has to exist in Demand and the setup performed to generate a forecast. On day one the Canonical model will require the full context to be passed in the service call, overtime we could replace demand with a service that doesn’t persist anything, it generates the forecast in real-time.
But its not solely about products, we want to provide a complete solution that includes top notch implementation services, hosting and support.
We are revitalizing the JDA Services organization which includes Cloud, Consulting, Education and Support Services.
We have the broadest and deepest pool of supply chain experts in the industry and we need to take better advantage of them.
We have more than 2,500 industry and solution experts supporting customers worldwide
But we need to do this quickly for you and at a lower cost and faster time to value.
