Many people develop a strong dislike for liver from an early unpleasant experience trying it as a child. The sight, smell, and taste of liver triggers their gag reflex and makes them feel sick. No matter how liver is prepared or what type, these "liver haters" cannot stand it. They have tried various suggestions to try liver prepared differently but always with the same result of disliking it. For some, merely the idea of eating the organ they consider toxic waste is repulsive and indigestible to them, regardless of its nutritional benefits. As a self-proclaimed liver hater, the author wants no part of connecting with their "primal man" and will continue to strongly dislike liver.
