Do

about
the
‘Soldiers

Schools
programme’?
As
part
of
the
Army’s
commemora7ons
of
the
centenary
of
the
First
World
War,
a
programme
has
been
developed
to
support
schools.
It
has
two
major
elements:
-‐
First

learning
resources
aimed
at
secondary
school
learners
-‐
Soldiers
to
Schools
-‐
the

4. Employers
are
vital
to
the
con7nued
success
of
the
Inspira7on
Agenda
which
relies
on
the
posi7ve
engagement
and
experiences
of
employers
across
the
West
Midlands
from
as
many
sectors
as
possible.
Through
the
generosity
of
employers,
we
now
have
approximately
500
companies
on
our
database.
So
how
do
we
raise
the
profile
of
the
Inspira7on
Agenda
to
ensure
we
meet
all
your
requests
for
support?
Tradi7onal
methods
of
contact
such
as
face
to
face,
phones
calls
and
networking
s7ll
have
a
valid
place
but
we
have
also
embraced
newer
methods,
one
of
these
being
Twi_er.
We
have
discovered
that
geographical
areas
in
the
West
Midlands
hold
a
business
tweet
at
the
same
7me
each
week.
In
Birmingham
the
‘Business
Hour’
takes
places
on
Wednesdays
between
8.00pm
-‐
9.00pm.
The
team
has
tweeted
at
this
7me
on
a
regular
basis
and
the
re-‐tweets
have
been
really
good.
Over
the
next
few
weeks
the
team
will
branch
out
into
the
other
areas
spreading
the
word
across
the
West
Midlands
and
encouraging
more
businesses
to
get
involved
#MidlandsHour.
Here
are
some
recent
examples
of
linking
employers
with
schools
making
requests
to
the
Inspira7on
Team:
Five
employers
secured
for
Cardinal
Newman
School’s
careers
fair;
two
inspira7onal
speakers
from
construc7on
and
banking
linked
up
with

seven
employers
secured
for
George
Dixon
Academy
for
mock
interviews
and
an
inspira7onal
speaker
for
EBN

Many
thanks
to
all

Over
24
