Quartz can be used in Mule applications to schedule events. An inbound Quartz endpoint triggers events that can be repeated, like every second. Outbound Quartz endpoints schedule existing events to fire at later dates. Cron expressions define schedules and events can be persisted in a database. Jobs perform actions when time triggers occur from the Quartz transport. For example, a Mule flow can be configured to write a file to an outbound endpoint at a specific interval defined by a Quartz scheduler.
