1. First Meeting of the Regional Soil
Laboratory Network for Eurasia and
Europe
National Reference
Laboratories
2. Laboratory name:
Laboratory of Soil Science Faculty of
Lomonosov Moscow State University
Country: Russian Federation
Name of the presenter: Olga Yakimenko
6. Soil analysis in your country
How many routine laboratories exist in your country?
More than 1000, including 140 of agrochemical survey,
and other industrial and research labs
Are they ‘mobile’ laboratories?
Just few of them used for soil sampling and express
analyses
Are soil test kits commonly used? We have companies
that produce soil test kits, but accredited laboratories
don’t use them.
7. Proficiency testing (PT)
Has your lab joined a proficiency testing (PT)
program? Our laboratory join a proficiency testing
(PT) program 3 or 4 times per year. We have
programs approved by Rus Accreditation Agency
with PT providers laboratory
Proficiency Testing (PT) or 'interlaboratory comparison' compares the results obtained by
different laboratories.
In a PT program, the same soil sample is sent to different laboratories.
The results reported by each laboratory are compared to a reference value.
Quality certificates are provided when values close enough to the reference values are
obtained.
If yes, to which PA program?
8. Accreditation/certification
Does your laboratory have any accreditation or
certification? We have an accreditation in
RusAccreditation agency which is a member of APLAC
[Accreditation (or certification) is the process in which certification of
competence is provided by an authority, such as the government, for example.
A certificate of competence shows that the holder is authorized to perform
specific analyses on behalf of an authority, such as the government.]
If yes, which institution/agency provides
accreditation/certification? In Russia there is the unified
state accreditation system regulated by the federal law
9. Strength/weakness
What do you think your lab is strong at?
Strong by professional staff, extensive experience in
soil analysis and good modern equipment.
What do you think it could be improved?
It could be approved by PT program and good
reviews of our customers.
10. What are your expectations out of this meeting and
GLOSOLAN? From this meeting, we are waiting for
concrete proposals for the harmonization of analysis
methods around the world. Development of universal
methods of analysis that will be applied in country. In
order to be able to evaluate the quality of the soil all
over the world according to uniform standards.
