Harry Pardee, M.M.
Mr. Harry Pardee, M.M. serves as the District Coordinator of Fine Arts for the Collier County Public Schools in Collier
County, FL (Naples, Marco Island, Everglades City and Immokalee, FL), overseeing all aspects of Curriculum &
Instruction for Music and Visual Arts grades K-12. Specifically, Mr. Pardee provides direction on the Florida Standards,
professional development opportunities for teachers, facilities and equipment standards and performance standards
for all music and art programs county-wide. He also serves as the community liaison for all Arts organizations and
their involvement with the public schools and their faculties.
In addition to his duties within the Collier County Public Schools, Mr. Pardee serves as an adjunct faculty member
within the Music Education department at the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, FL.
Prior to his appointment as Coordinator of Fine Arts, Mr. Pardee served as the Director of Bands at Palmetto Ridge
High School in Naples, Florida. At Palmetto Ridge, he directed the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band,
Percussion Choir and advised the Color Guard and Dance Teams. Most prominently, Mr. Pardee served as the Director
of the 250 member “Marching Pride” of Palmetto Ridge - a nationally recognized corps-style marching band. His
marching, concert and jazz bands were consistently rated Superior at the Florida Bandmasters Association State and
District festivals.
Mr. Pardee is a graduate of the University Of Florida School Of Music, with his Master of Music in Music Education
degree (2009) and his Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree (2007) from the same institution. His Masters
project is titled The Use of Reference Recordings and Recorded Models in the Secondary Instrumental Music Classroom,
which explored the history and current trends of recorded music technology and its use in schools. Mr. Pardee is a
graduate of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School (2003) and performed as Principal Trumpet with the
New England Conservatory Youth Symphony, Youth Repertory Orchestra and has been a featured trumpet soloist in
many venues nationally. In 2002, he was cited by the Massachusetts State Senate as an “Outstanding Performing
Artist” and was honored by the International Jazz Education Association in 2001, 2002 and 2003 as the Northeast
District (MA) “Most Valuable Player.”
During his tenure at the University of Florida Graduate School, Mr. Pardee served as a research assistant in music
education under the tutelage of Dr. Timothy Brophy (UF), and as the Organizing Assistant for the 2nd International
Symposium on Assessment in Music Education, held in Gainesville, Florida in 2009. Also at UF, Mr. Pardee served on
staff with the 2008-2009 National Championship season University of Florida Pride of the Sunshine “Fightinʼ Gator”
Marching Band, and was a Graduate Assistant conductor for the UF Basketball Pep Bands.
After his graduation from the University of Florida, Mr. Pardee was appointed the Director of Music at Estero High
School in Lee County, Florida where he directed the band, orchestra and choir programs and taught music
appreciation courses. Under his direction, the Wildcat Marching Band placed 4th in the FMBC State Finals in the
Tropicana Dome in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a member and past Chapter President of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
Fraternity (Eta Omega) and is active in the Florida Music Supervisors Association, Florida Art Supervisors Association,
Florida Bandmasterʼs Association and Florida Orchestra Association.
Mr. Pardee is an active freelance trumpet player throughout Southwest Florida, and serves the Music Ministry at North
Naples United Methodist Church, where he and his family are members. He resides in Naples, FL with his wife Lauren
and son Harry W. Pardee V (“Quinn”).
