Sir Christopher Stone to play a key role in developing UK teacher education
Birmingham educationleader,Sir ChristopherStone, is continuingto play a prominentrole in
helpingto developteacherprovisionin the UK. Chris,has beenappointedto a keypositionwith
the Universities’Council forthe Education ofTeachers (UCET) which promotes qualityin teacher
education.
Chris,whoisthe CEO of the Arthur TerryLearningPartnership andan NLE (National Leaderof
Education) hasjoinedUCET’s executivecommittee,where he will helpshape policy andsupportthe
organisation’smission to‘educate the UK’seducators’.
The UniversitiesCouncil forthe Educationof Teachersactsas a national forumforthe discussionof
mattersrelatingtothe educationof teachersandprofessional educators,andtothe studyof
educationinthe universitysectorandcontributestothe formulationof policyinthese fields.Its
membersare UK universitiesinvolved inteachereducation,andanumberof collegesof higher
educationinthe universitysector.
Chrisispart of the School Reference Group - a group of seniorschool leaderswhowillworkwith
UCET on the developmentandimplementationof policy inthe contextof movestowardsaschools-
ledteachereducationsystemandtoact as a resource forthe teacher educationsectorand
government.

Minister,DavidCameron,tocelebrate excellence ineducation.He wasalsoinvitedtothe House of
Lords to share hisideasoneducationwithkeygovernment,businessandpolitical leaders.
The Arthur TerryLearningPartnershipisa multi-academytrustof seven primaryandsecondary
schools,one teachingschool andfive children’scentres whichare,orhave the abilitytobecome
Outstanding.The Partnershipaimstoimprove teaching,mentorstaff andshare bestpractice to help
