in Noida
Samsung has set up world`s largest mobile phone manufacturing factory in
Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The factory was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South
Korean President Moon Jae-in .
Samsung`s 35-acre Noida factory is the world`s largest with a claim of 120
million mobile phones per year.
New Samsung factory is said to double the company`s current mobile
phone manufacturing capacity of 67 million to 120 million, by 2020.

Samsung also has one other manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, near
Chennai, five R&D centers and one design center in India.
As demand for phones sedates elsewhere, India and some other countries

phone factory in India
Samsung electronics has formally opened a new factory in India, which the
South Korean tech group says is the world`s biggest mobile phone
manufacturing plant, part of its plans to expand production in the world`s
fastest growing major mobile phone market.
Samsung said last year it would spend 49.2 billion rupees ($716.57
million) over three years to expand capacity at its Noida plant.
New factory will help Samsung to double its current capacity for mobile
phones in Noida to an annual 120 million units after the phased expansion
plan is complete , said by company.
India is the world`s second biggest smartphone market and home to more
than a billion wireless subscribers.
9. Create 2,000 jobs
With the new factory, Samsung will double its current manufacturing
capacity for mobile phones in Noida from 6.8 crore units a year to 12
crore units a year, in phase-wise expansion that will be completed by
2020.
The new factory, built at an investment of 4,915 crore will generate 2,000
direct jobs, said South Korean President Moon-Jae-in.
This will create 2,000 direct employment opportunities in India.
Production in the factory will range from low end smartphones priced
below $100 to the company`s flagship model S9 model.
This project not only creates employment and national capital, it enhances
‘MAKE IN INDIA’ scheme.
