Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow in the DST sponsored research
project entitled ‘Large scale Geological –Geotechnical Mapping of Vulnerable landslide zones
along Srinagar to Rudraprayag National Highway, Uttrakhand’ in Department of Civil
Engineering, Punjab Institute of technology Mohali. Terms and conditions for the same are as
follows:
1. Post: one JRF
2. Salary: Rs 25000 +HRA as admissible by University rules
3. Duration: The post is co-terminous with the project. Duration of same is two years.
4. Essential Qualification: First class M.tech (Geotechnical) Civil Engineering or First class
MSc Degree in Geology with NET qualification or minimum one year teaching or
research experience with knowledge of handling Geotechnical instruments and
Experience in Mapping.
5. Desirable Qualification: Experience in Field mapping and knowledge of GIS software.
6. Age limit: The upper age limit for applying for the award of JRF shall be 28 years, which
is relaxed upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule
Tribes/OBC, Physically Handicapped/Visually Handicapped and female applicants.
7. Process of selection: The selection shall be made strictly on merit. The eligible candidates
will be required to appear for interview for the duly constitute selection committee for
this. The scheduled date and time should be intimated to the eligible candidates by
phone/email. No TA/DA will be given for attending the interview.
