Stanford Cancer Center
Drawing upon the expertise of more than 300 researchers and clinicians from the Schools of
Medicine, Engineering and Humanities & Sciences, the Stanford Cancer Center is at the forefront
of today's advances in cancer research and medicine.
The extensive range of advanced clinical services available under one roof truly reflects the
world-class nature of the treatment patients receive at the Stanford Cancer Center.
Stanford researchers and physicians have led the way in developing many of the current
state-of-the-art radiology, antibody, and biologic therapies that are used to treat cancers. This
in-house expertise allows the Stanford Cancer Center to make the best use of these therapies for
our patients.
For years, Stanford has used a multidisciplinary approach to tackle the most complex and difficult
cancer cases.
TUMOR BOARDS
The centerpiece of the clinical cancer program is the tumor boards and multidisciplinary clinics
where specialists from Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology and Pathology
evaluate and discuss patients for whom a multidisciplinary approach is being considered.
Patients can request that their care be discussed by a tumor board. The multidisciplinary group
will collectively design the best course of action for each patient.
The new patient coordinators at the designated contact number will assist in setting up the
appointment, outlining what medical information to collect and bring, and what insurance
information is required.
