Short Profile
Me, Harunur Rashid is currently working as a Research Assistant of the Centre for
Entrepreneurship Development (CED), BRAC University in Bangladesh. I have around 1 years
of experience in research and development, project management, Small and Medium Enterprise
(SME) development, capacity development, training facilitation, and research proposal.
I was selected as Development Communication Fellow at The Asia Foundation Bangladesh,
took part in different capacity development training, for professional development. I have study
interest in the areas of economic development, poverty alleviation, governance, globalization,
environment, research methodology, qualitative and quantitative research, human development
and political economy etc. I have successfully completed Undergraduate Degree in
Development Studies from the University of Dhaka in from 2010 to 2014 respectively with an
outstanding CGPA is 3.6 in Honors (Out of 4.00). I have just appeared in MSS in Development
Studies final semester exam in 2015 December. I have extensive research experiences in
different distinguished research projects under the supervision of faculty members of the
Department of Development Studies of Dhaka University. Besides academic studies, I was
engaged in contributing in Daily Prothom Alo, Dhaka Tribune, Daily Sun and in Daily Ittefaq
and regular column writer of Daily Amader Shomoi and Daily Ittefaq on international editorial
from May 2013 to July 2015. I have also attended different voluntary and community based
activities in youth organizations and was awarded and because of my regular publication of
article in both English and Bengali daily.
Professional Experience
 From August 2015 to January 2016-Present, Research Assistant, Centre for
Entrepreneurship Development (CED), BRAC University. My role in this position is
to develop research and project proposals with the assistance of a mentor. Conduct
individual and collaborative research projects, conduct literature reviews, collect and
analyze data, prepare survey and interview questionnaire and summarize interviews.

agencies and foundations. Beside this I have to prepare a monograph about the
problem of prospect of Entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
 Research: Conduct data analysis in Participatory Factory Mapping Research funded
by CNA, as a research assistant in CED with the assistance of a mentor when
necessary.
 From 20 Jan 2014 to 12 May 2015 Regular Contributor of Sub-editorial page in daily
Ittefaq. Here I have to write column on international and economics issue and translate
the sub-editorial from Project Syndicate. Besides this, I also write criticism in daily
Ittefaq literary page in regular interval.
 From 9 August to 18 Jul 2015, Monograph Translator, World Wide Vision on
Climate Change. My role in this position is to Translate English monograph of World
Wide Vision on Climate Change to Bengali.

2. Volunteering Experience
 May 2011-June 201, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC). As a part of
training organised by BYLC, I, along with other five members implemented a project
named “Improving Access to Better Health Facilities for the Korail Slum Dwellers of Dhaka
City”. It was three month long project which is designed by me along with my group
member where we have worked with the slum dwellers and make them aware about the
health and health related facilities provided by the Government as well as NGOs in that
area. We also gave them many trash bin so that they can make their environment clean.
We also organized medical treatment camp in Korail slum as part of our project with the
help of bdnews24.com and Dhaka Medical College.
 July 2012- May 2014, International Youth Council (IYC), I have participated many
awareness raising activity like, seminar, campus cleaning, youth leadership building
program.
