The document considers three potential locations for a photo shoot for a magazine: a photography studio, the author's garden, and an area of grass at Henley College.
The photography studio allows control over lighting, backdrops, and no interruptions, but booking time slots may be limited. The garden provides unlimited time but no control over lighting or power sources. The college grass area has natural scenery but possible student interruptions, no power, and uncontrolled lighting due to being outside.
1. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO
I have chosen the photography studio as one
of my locations as it is quiet so there will be
no interruptions when doing the photo
shoot. I will also be able to use a background
drop and choose the colour of this and
change the lighting to suit my photo so the
image will look exactly how I want it and
appear as a professional photo making my
magazine look sophisticated and attractive
to my target audience. There is a lot of space
in the photography room so I can fit all the
people into my photos.
An issue with the photography studio is that
I must book it to use it and the time slot I
need may not be available or may be too
short to get all my photos done to a high
enough standard.
There are a few plugs in the room so if the
camera runs out of battery we can quickly
plug it in and charge it and continue with the
photo shoot.
Booking the room means there will be no
interruptions from others and we will not
cause disruption to others. The room is
easily accessible inside a building with
corridors and stairs.
MY GARDEN
I have chosen my garden for the photos for
my contents page as I have plenty of grass
and mud for the background and to stick on
the wellington boots to make them look
worn. This is also a good location as it is at
my own home so I can spend as long as I like
on these photos without interruptions.
The problems with this location are that it is
outside so I cannot control the lighting and
weather which can affect my photo or even
prevent me from taking the photo.
Also there is not a battery source outside in
the garden so if the camera runs out of
power I cannot plug it in to a plug and
continue with the shots.
I do not need to ask permission to use this
location mak8ng it an easy location to use. It
is accessible with pathways to the garden
and a house next to it.
2. The location is in my own garden so does not
cause disruption to other people and does
not block path ways or roads.
THE HENLEY COLLEGE GRASS AREA-
ROTHERFIELD
This location is a possibility for my photo
shoot for my front cover and contents page
as the background would have trees in it
making the photo seem more real. However
the issues with his location are that there
may be other students there how may get in
the way of the photo. There is no plug to
charge the camera if it runs out of battery.
Also as it is outside I will not be able to
control the lighting or weather so this may
affect my photo by making it come out bad.
The light may be too bright or too dim and it
may rain so the photo shoot would have to
be rescheduled or cancelled.
It is in a good location in case there is an
emergency as it is outside so we can move
away from buildings and go to a safe area
quickly if there is a fire.
We do not need to ask permission to
photograph here as it is outside the college
buildings and is easily accessible with paths
ways and road nearby.
The location is out of the way of path ways
so does not block peoples routes.
