3. Birth, Activism, and Death
ACTIVISM DEATH
BIRTH
King looked for equality and basic
freedoms for African Americans, the
poor and victims of injustice. He was the
main force behind turning points, for
example, the Montgomery Bus Boycott
and the 1963 March on Washington,
which achieved such milestone
enactment as the Civil Rights Act and the
Voting Rights Act. Ruler was granted the
Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and is recalled
every year on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day,
a U.S. government occasion since 1986.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was
brought into the world on
January 15, 1929, in Atlanta,
Georgia, the second offspring of
Martin Luther King Sr., a minister,
and Alberta Williams King, a
previous schoolteacher. Along
with his older sister Christine and
more youthful sibling Alfred
Daniel Williams, he experienced
childhood in the city's Sweet
Auburn area, at that point home
to probably the most
conspicuous and prosperous
African Americans in the country.
On the night of April 4, 1968, Martin
Luther King was killed. He was
lethally shot while remaining on the
gallery of an inn in Memphis, where
King had headed out to help a
sterilization laborers' strike. In the
wake of his passing, a rush of mobs
cleared significant urban
communities the nation over, while
President Johnson proclaimed a
public day of mourning. James Earl
Ray, a got away from convict and
known bigot, confessed to the
homicide and was condemned to 99
years in jail.
4. Explain Montgomery bus boycott,
1955-56
Perceiving the requirement for a
mass development to exploit the
effective Montgomery activity, King
set about getting sorted out the
Southern Christian Leadership
Conference (SCLC), which gave him
a base of activity all through the
South, just as a public stage from
which to talk. Lord addressed taking
all things together pieces of the
country and talked about race-
related issues with strict and social
equality pioneers at home and
abroad
King's philosophy regarding
protest
How was his philosophy different
than the Blank Panthers
Points: Martin Luther King whose
fundamental point was to achieve
racial uniformity through the two
races combining and functioning
as one. Be that as it may, Malcolm
X was a dark patriot and wanted
the races to be distinctly
separated. To achieve racial
equality, Martin Luther King
believed non-violent resistance
was the key to ending all violence
and racial hatred, in order to
eventually achieve equality
between races.
Martin Luther King's
philosophy was that
equality and justice should
be achieved through peace
usually being peaceful
protest, boycotts, and
speeches. He called for civil
and economic rights and
an end to racism in the
United States. Nonviolence
is a way of life for
courageous people. It is
active nonviolent
resistance to evil.
5. "Injustice anywhere is a threat
to justice everywhere."
“The quality, not the longevity, of
one’s life is what is important.”
injustice can spread, and
should not be
tolerated anywhere.
Interconnectedness is a
central theme of this
statement. King argues
that the forces that harm a
specific area, harm the
whole.
He is saying that how long
you live doesn’t define
your life, quality is what
defines it and is the main
importance. Having a good
life will be what defines
you and your life.
6. "Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther
King could walk. Martin Luther King
walked so Obama could run.
Obama's running so we all can fly."
- Jay Z
"Martin Luther King dedicated his life to love
and to justice between fellow human beings.
He died in the cause of that effort."
- Robert Kennedy
Jay Z was stating how these
influencers and advocates
fought for justice and were
successful in leading to
change and a fairer
country. With each of
these peoples'
contributions we can be
where we are today and
will continue to thrive in
fight thanks to some of the
many people who acted.
Martin Luther King was
willing to go too far and
dangerous lengths in order
to fight for freedom. He
was willing to endanger
himself and his family for
this cause. The cause of his
death was because of the
effort he made to fight for
freedom. He dedicated his
time and life to fighting
and taking actions.
