2. THE MOST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
THAT WHICH ENABLES THE IT
RESOURCES WITHOUT ANY
INFRASTRUCTURES.
THAT MEANS FOR ANY IT COMPANY, WE
NEED A SERVER ROOM THAT IS THE
BASIC NEED OF IT COMPANIES.
CLOUD COMPUTING ENABLES
COMPANIES TO CONSUME A COMPUTE
RESOURCE, SUCH AS A VIRTUAL
MACHINE, STORAGE OR AN
APPLICATION, AS A UTILITY.

3. The history of cloud computing starts way back in the 1960s.
Over the course of the past decade, cloud computing has evolved
from being something service providers told companies they should
be adopting to becoming the technological lifeblood that runs
through most modern enterprises.
In 2002, Amazon started Amazon Web Services, providing services like
storage, computation and even human intelligence. However, only
starting with the launch of the Elastic Compute Cloud in 2006 a truly
commercial service open to everybody existed.
4. Self-service provisioning means the computing resources are used for almost
any kind of work.
Flexibility refers to changes in usage to increase or decrease as users see their
needs change.
Pay-per-use allows users to pay for only the services and resources they use.
Maintenance of the servers is easy. Servers are off site, and the providers take
care of software updates. There is no need for users to install software on to
individual systems and keep up to date with the software as it develops.
Location-free allows users to work from anywhere. As long as you have an
Internet connection you can access the cloud. Many providers often have apps
available to multiple devices, so you are not restricted.
Backup. Cloud-based backup saves time, avoids larger investments and the
need to recruit third-party experts.
Cloud-based workload and file sharing streamline teamwork collaboration,
which allows data to be shared, accessed and edited from anywhere.
5. DISADVANTAGES
1) REQUIRE A CONSTANT INTERNET CONNECTION
Cloud computing is impossible without Internet connection. To access
any applications and documents you need a constant Internet
connection.
2) REQUIRE HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION
Similarly, a low-speed Internet connection makes cloud computing
painful at best and often impossible. Web based apps often require a lot
of bandwidth to download, as need to download large documents.
3) STORED DATA MIGHT NOT BE SECURE
With cloud computing, all your data is stored in the cloud. That's all well
and good, but how secure is the cloud? Can't unauthorized users gain
access to your confidential data?
6. HOW CLOUD COMPUTING WORKS
instead of installing a suite of software for each computer, you just
need to load one application.
That application will allow the employees to log-in into a Web-
based service which hosts all the programs for the user that is
required for his/her job.
Remote servers owned by another company and that will run
everything from e-mail to word processing to complex data analysis
programs.
It is called cloud computing, and it could change the entire
computer industry.
cloud computing can handle that much heavy load easily and
automatically.
7. CLOUD COMPUTING DEPLOYMENT MODELS
Cloud computing services can be private, public or hybrid.
P R I V A T E
A cloud computing model in
which an enterprise uses a
proprietary architecture and
runs cloud servers within its
own data centre.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Single-tenant architecture on
premises hardware Direct
control of underlying cloud
infrastructure
TOP VENDORES:
HPE, Vmware,
DELL EMC., IBM.
H Y B R I D P U B L I C
A cloud computing model in
which a third-party provider
makes compute resources
available to the general public
cloud, enterprises do not have
to set up and maintain their
own cloud servers in house
CHARACTERISTICS:
Multi-terant architecture
Pay-as-you-go pricing model
TOP VENDORES:
AWS, MICROSOFT, AZURE,
GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM.
A cloud computing model that
includes a mix of on-premises,
private cloud and third-party
public cloud services with
orchestration between the two
platforms.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Cloud bursting capabilities
benefits of both public and
private environments
TOP VENDORES:
A COMBINATION OF BOTH
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CLOUD
PROVIDERS
8. SOFTWAREASASERVICE-SaaS
Applications are hosted by a cloud service
provider and made available to customers over
internet.
ADVANTAGES
SAAS IS EASY TO BUY-SaaS pricing is based on a
monthly fee or annual fee, SaaS allows organizations to
access business functionality at a low cost which is less
than licensed applications.
LESS HARDWARE REQUIRED FOR SaaS-The software
is hosted remotely, so organizations don't need to invest
in additional hardware.
LOW MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR SaaS-Software
as a service removes the necessity of installation, set-up,
and often daily upkeep and maintenance for
organizations. Initial set-up cost for SaaS is typically less
than the enterprise software
CLOUD SERVICE MODELS DISADVANTAGES
SECURITY-Actually data is stored in cloud, so security
may be an issue for some users. However, cloud
computing is not more secure than in-house
deployment. Learn more cloud security.
LATENCY Issue-because the data and application are
stored in cloud at a variable distance from the end user,
so there is a possibility that there may be more latency
while interacting with the application than a local
deployment. So, SaaS model is not suitable for
applications whose demand response times are in
milliseconds.
TOTAL DEPENDENCY ON INTERNET - Without
internet connection, most SaaS applications are not
usable.
SWITCHING BETWEEN SAAS VENDORS IS
DIFFICULT -Switching SaaS vendors involves the difficult
and slow task of transferring the very large data files
over the internet and then converting and importing
them into another SaaS also.

4. Finally, the Power BI REST API library allows you to customize nearly every aspect of Power BI, including connecting to custom data sources, enabling real-time data streaming from your data source to Power BI, and integrating other applications with Power BI
Let’s walk through an overview of how Power BI works.
1. The Power BI service, sometimes referred to as powerbi.com, is what allows you to:
Create beautiful visualizations to tell compelling data stories
Build rich, live dashboards that turn BI into business insights
Create reports & datasets from which you can create visualizations and dashboards
Enjoy the benefits of up-to-date data with real-time, automatic and scheduled refreshes
Share dashboards easily with other people in your organization
Ask questions of data in plain English with Natural Language Query
Stay connected to your data all the time with mobile applications
2. Power BI connects to a variety of data sources. These range across both cloud and on-premises sources, and include:
A variety of popular SaaS solutions, such as Marketo, Salesforce, GitHub, Dynamics CRM, Zendesk, and several others
On-premises databases – Power BI offers live connectivity to SQL Server Analysis Services, which we’ll cover in more detail later. And using a gateway solution, Power BI can connect to other database solutions.
Custom data sources – Power BI can connect to any data source you need it to thanks to its extensibility via REST APIs. This includes both proprietary corporate data sources, as well as external data services. For example, if you are a SaaS solution provider, you can work with Microsoft to connect your solution to Power BI.
Other Azure services – Power BI integrates tightly with SQL Azure and Stream Analytics, and will be integrating closely with more Azure services over time
Power BI Desktop and Excel files – Excel workbooks can be directly connected to Power BI.com, or may be used with Power BI Desktop. Power BI Desktop is a companion application to the Power BI service – it is a desktop tool that supports data analysis and reporting. Like Excel files, Power BI Desktop files may be uploaded to the Power BI service.
1) Data preparation…. Get data, then transform and model
2) Exploration: Free form data exploration, canvas experience.
3) Report … Create interactive reports
4) Share and collaborate with Power BI
Power BI Desktop is a free desktop companion application for the Power BI service. It enables visual data exploration and report-authoring. Complementary to Excel, it combines the capabilities of Power Query, Power Pivot & Power View into a single interface.
With Power BI Desktop, you can:
Acquire and prepare data using extensive query capabilities
Manipulation and consolidation of multiple data sources is performed in Power BI Desktop – this enables Power BI service users to use data from multiple sources in a single report
Establish data structure, then transform and analyze data
Visualize and explore your data in new ways through a freeform drag-and-drop canvas
Author reports with a broad range of modern data visualizations
Publish beautiful, interactive reports directly to powerbi.com
Securely share reports through unique, curated content library approach
Key message:
Power BI Desktop allows you to connect to data sources beyond what powerbi.com supports – constantly working and adding new data sources
Talking points:
The four major categories of data source are files, databases, Azure services and other (SaaS category was removed)
Power BI Desktop supports a number of data sources that other competing services do not
Navigate data quickly with in-memory processing that optimizes performance
Pare down datasets to only what’s needed by editing queries before data is loaded to Power BI Desktop
Prepare and explore data intuitively, using functionality similar to that of Power Query for Excel
Adjust, or shape, data into the form and format that fits your needs
A few examples – you can adjust data type, remove columns, change table names and delete relationships
Use the Applied Steps view in Query Settings to precisely tune how the data is shaped - e.g. adjust the order of data-shaping steps, or remove steps if needed
Power Query records your sequence of data exploration activities, making it easy to re-apply them to additional sets of data
Modify data types to support specific calculation requirements – some calculations require data in a specific format
Combine data from different types of data sources to ensure consistent query semantics
Mashup data across multiple data sources into a single table to support advanced analysis and reporting
